Just did and Spotify (official) is back, with two icons on my main screen, as well as two facebook icons. No matter, they both work. I have now uninstalled the Spotify (official) from the plugin list and restarted the server. I have found the 3rd party Spotify plugin, installed it and restarted the server. And it works! I guess my mistake was not to clear settings and cache before re-installing the plugin. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] (UK) Freeview radio channels
I think port numbers above 1000 are available to all apps but be careful that firewall will allow incoming requests. SBS needs a name at the end of the stream such as testaudio.mp3 and SBS will use the extension to determine codec (i.e. mp3) as VLC does not supply that info in MIME form in http headers. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
Hello, has there been any recent progress on this? I have installed the 3rd Party Squeezebox WaveInput Plugin on OpenSuSE 11.3 (Linux). It can be successfully started. However, PC sound still comes to the PC speakers, not to the Plugin. The Squeezebox player sees the plugin on the Squeezebox Server. But the system (aplay, lspci, dmesg) does not see the plugin. Like this other user, I have tried a host of tricks to try to redirect the sound or get the device recognized without success... In particular, I need to know how to configure ~/.asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf Details below, thanks in advance. Kind regards, Andy Lavarre, Newport, RI USA - I do have ALSA installed and it works well both with alsamixergui and kmixer. But neither of these offer any options to redirect the output from the speakers to somewhere else. aplay -l gives a list of devices: P1630:~ # aplay -l List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC269 Analog [ALC269 Analog] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 This does not include the WaveInput plugin, so even though the plugin is loaded and present and appears in Squeezebox Server, it seems not to be being recognized by ALSA or the system at large. lspci | grep -i audio returns P1630:~ # lspci | grep -i audio 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) again suggesting that the plugin is not being seen. dmesg returns P1630:~ # dmesg |grep HDA [9.654641] HDA Intel :00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [9.654736] HDA Intel :00:1b.0: irq 29 for MSI/MSI-X [9.654782] HDA Intel :00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [9.895464] input: HDA Digital PCBeep as /devices/pci:00/:00:1b.0/input/input11 Yet again, no recognition of the plugin. If I start a tune playing (through the speakers) and then start the SBS plugin the only change is that the Squeezebox itself shows the input as wavin:n where n is the device number I have entered in the Squeezebox Server settings. I have tried both n=0 and n=1 without success. I do not have either ~/.asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf. I need to know how to construct these: /usr/share/doc/packages/alsa/alsa-lib/asoundrc.txt offers a sample but none of the values are filled in. I don't understand the difference between the two and why you might have one or the other or both. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
I think you have misunderstood what the plugin does. The plugin does not redirect audio - it just make a copy of the audio stream sent to a PC speaker - the copied audio can then be played to SB players. It copies a stream being sent by application to the ALSA device which is PC speaker audio and so there is no plugin to be seen by alsa. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Where's the Triode Plugin for Spotify, Please?
Hi there, First of all you need a Spotify premium account, crrently £10 a month UK prices. When you have that, fire up squeezeplayer on the computer, click home/server settings, and from the "basic settings" drop down menu select plugins. Scroll down to the 3rd party recommended plugins until you find Spotify by Triode. If it's not listed, you will need to update to a newer version of Squeezeplayer. Click on the app, follow the instructions, add your Spotify premium account user name and password and away you go. To access Spotify on Squeezebox, goto Internet radio and you'll see it there. With Napster, the computer does not need to be on,so I would imagine the same applies to Spotify, but I may need correcting on this! You don't specify where you live, but in the UK Spotify is currently pretty much the only option for on demand high bitrate streaming to a squeezebox. If you live elsewhere there may well be alternatives. It's pretty good though. On my hifi, there is no discernable difference between my flac files and Spotify(at360). When I stream from Napster, there is a noticeable difference compared to flac. One final feature with Spotify rarely mentioned. If you have a smart phone then download the free Spotify app, add your premium account password, and then sync all your playlists/tracks with your phone. Once done, click on the "force offline" tab on the phone. You will then be able to stream all those tracks via bluetooth to another device such as a car radio. This feature has transformed my car journey to work and back. Just in case the problem are coming from the tuner card - you can test the "sout" parameters by using as a source a file or PC audio. If you get SBS playing a http stream with audio from a file, then if it stops working after you change the source to the tuner card - you can concentrate checking what is wrong with the connection between source selection and destination. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21804 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Where's the Triode Plugin for Spotify, Please?
Yup. It's the Premium account I signed up for. But I signed up for the 7 day free trial of the Premium Account. Same thing, no? Otherwise there would be no point. You actually need to pay for Premium. The free trial is not Premium. -- JackOfAll JackOfAll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3069 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85330 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Just wondering if there's been any progress on squashing the bug that causes runaway battery usage on my iPhone 3GS when the phone sleeps or the ipeng app isn't frontmost, or ipeng is frontmost? -- dborod dborod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21049 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I have a set of albums named like Scarlatti: Complete Sonatas, Vol.1 Scarlatti: Complete Sonatas, Vol.2 Scarlatti: Complete Sonatas, Vol.3 ... Scarlatti: Complete Sonatas, Vol.10 Scarlatti: Complete Sonatas, Vol.11 Scarlatti: Complete Sonatas, Vol.12 When browsing by artist, and looking at the albums of that artist, they are sorted and displayed in the order Vol 1, 10, 11, 2, 3,... If I select all songs, all the songs are displayed, sorted by album, in the correct sequence 1,2,3,4...,10,11... Not even sure if this is an ipeng thing or not... -- dborod dborod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21049 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Indeed there was an issue with database optimizing not happening with the nightly builds for a while.
