Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunes Update

2011-05-14 Thread discgo

Simong - Did you ever get iTunesupdate running? I'm on Mac 10.6 and SBS
7.5.4 and can't get Glue to install either.

I'd love to get a solution to be able to easily update itunes ratings,
the applescript in the previously linked thread doesn't work for me
either.

I've now tried the latest 7.6 beta as of 13 May on ppc and the menus are
still wrong on iPeng but correct on the hardware Controllers.

New Music is still missing on both iPhone and iPad apps...

I don't think so; not without Squeezebox Server running somewhere else
on your network. It doesn't appear that this NAS is capable of running
SbS. Whichever machine you run SbS on can point to the NAS as a file
source.

P.S. The literature for this NAS says it is a "DLNA media server" but
that won't help because Duet is not a DLNA device.

This all sounds troubling. I really won't be in a position to check
this out with a real SBClassic until I get home at the end of June. I
can try installing SoftSqueeze on my laptop and see if I can duplicate
what you're seeing using the SB3 interface. That's about all I can do
for know. I'll see if I can do that this afternoon.

I used to build my own version and not use the repository but recent
versions have been OK except for zombie mplayer processes with the
version in 10.04 but the version with 10.10 is now OK again.

If only used to SBS WMA - then instead of building your own - you could
probably just copy the mplayer binary to a temp dir and remove mplayer
using the package manager. Then copy the mplayer binary back into the
bin directory

Hi bpa,

Thank you very much for the follow up and suggestions. Finally solved
the problem. Here is what I have tried.

Tried to install the latest nightly build of mplayer but same problem.

Purged the installed mplayer. Then manually downloaded the old version
of mplayer-nogui and all the dependencies for the ubuntu 8.04(hardy).
Installed it and now everything is back to normal. mplayer is falling
back to 2-4% cpu usage during transcoding.

It is off topic but do you happen to know how I could tell my ubuntu OS
not to upgrade mplayer in the future?

Thanks again for the help.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2011-05-14 Thread nieldm

Hello,

Maybe someone can help me. I am have integrated my Squeeze-environment
with my Crestron installation at home, all working very nicely
including the Spotify plugin (working on a Sheevaplug) with the
exception of the Artwork, which isn't showing on my touchpanels in the
way it does for the other Squeezebox modules (Rhapsody, BBC etc).

When I look at the URL in the Crestron debugger I see it is
"incomplete" in that I see, for example:

spotifyimage/6fcefcdf1033a487ec21803d73e5a9e4d0c878e0/cover.jpg

which is clearly my problem. How do Spotify URLs work? Is there
some way I can get a complete URL returned?

Any help much appreciated!

Many thanks
Marc

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LazySearch and 7.6.0 r32296/32300

2011-05-14 Thread Martin_z

I've tried reverting to 7.5.4, but my little plug computer just hasn't
got the oomph to do it. So I'm stuck with 7.6 - but that's fine, apart
from this.

Do we know when it broke? is it possible to revert to that version? or
is it possible to get a build from the sources that don't have this
issue?

I guess this is really a question for the Logitech developers - while
the nightly builds are on the onebrowser branch, could you do a single
build from the trunk and put it somewhere we can get it? It does seem
a bit of a shame that a really good plug-in stops working through no
fault of its own!

Are other menus missing, too?
On which platform is the server running and which "latest version" are
you referring to?

I've heard this from two users about 7.5.4 on ReadyNAS and I have seen
it myself once on a 7.6 beta.

In all cases it seems to help to switch players but then you need at
least two of them
It looks like the main menu still doesn't get sent reliably - there has
been a bug about this in 7.5.4 betas and it was supposed to be fixed but
apparently isn't
