Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2011-06-13 Thread starfleetcommand

I finally got mine working with the manual patch. Here is what I did.
For Win 7:

1. Stop Squeezebox Server
2. Open cmd window as Administrator
3. cd C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\SuperDateTime\lib
4. ren Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par
Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip
5. Open Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip with WinZip or other archive
tool (I use WinRAR).
6. Within the zip file, drill down to \lib\Plugins\SuperDateTime
7. Open Plugin.pm with a text editor (preferably something that gives
you line numbers such as NotePad ++). You can edit the file while it is
still in the archive so no need to extract.
8. Edit the lines give in earlier threads
in line 3067 change "twc-col-2" to "twc-col-2 "
in line 3155 change "twc-col-3" to "twc-col-3 "
in line 3242 change "twc-col-4" to "twc-col-4 "
in line 3468 change "twc-col-1" to "twc-col-1 twc-line-nar "
9. Keep the extra space after 'twc-line-nar' in line 3468.
10. Save the file and exit the editor. WinRAR asked me if I wanted to
update the archive. I said Yes.
11. If you extracted the file to make edits, be sure to re-add the file
to the archive.
12. Back at the cmd window, ren Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip
Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par
13. Start Squeezebox.

Mine is working again --- at least until weather.com changes their
website.

A minor nuisance for something I've come to depend on. Good luck!

OK but that makes not difference (still says there are 220). All the
playlists work in the Spotify desktop client.

Thanks for this wonderfull plugin. It behaves differently between 7.5

@SBB: Yes, that makes sense, thanks. That's exactly what we should
do. They've done this "add a space at the end" thing before, as I
said, and they later changed it back (it doesn't really make much sense
to have a space at the end of a class ID, so it's probably an error...
thier page output is undoubtedly generated by some sort of automated
program).

Unfortunately, that doesn't fix the problem with the "nowcasts"
parsing, at least for me.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] WaveInput for Mac OS

2011-06-13 Thread mwelch

I'm trying to get audio of my Mac server (also running Squeezebox
Server) onto my Squeezeboxes. WaveInput seems to be the way to do it on
Win and Linux machines, but there isn't a version for OS X. A user noted
in April that he had an experimental version working on the Mac, but he
hasn't posted since then, and isn't responding to private messages.

Does anyone have any guidance on how I might rewrite WaveInput for the
Mac? I made a couple attempts over the weekend, but had absolutely no
luck.

Thanks.

Thanks. I'll have to take a look at it. This is the first time I see a
menu item with three rows that doesn't have artwork. I alsways thouht
that doesn't fit on a Controller screen (and well, it kind of
doesn't).

As big as possible. You never know what the future brings and even now
iPeng uses up to 960x960. If it's bigger, the server scales it so it
will not hurt, also with higher resolutions rescaling doesn't matter as
much.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud plugin?

2011-06-13 Thread erland

Hmm, I wonder if it would be possible to do something with this together
with one of the already supported streaming services which allow you to
play specific songs, for example Spotify.

Basically a plugin that used the Mixcloud API to get the playlist and
lookup each song in the streaming service(for example Spotify) and then
play it on the Squeezebox automatically through the streaming plugin.

Which streaming plugins are available for Squeezebox which support to
search and play individual songs ?

I'm pretty sure it can be done through Spotify plugin but I assume
other users who don't have access to Spotify would like something else,
in that case what ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud plugin?

2011-06-13 Thread SlimPvC

Hi Erland

If I understand you right you're thinking of reading the Mixcloud
playlist and then fetch the separate tracks from Spotify?
This wouldn't be the same, since Mixcloud hosts 'mixtapes' in classic
sense, which is not the same as head-tail compilation of divided
tracks.
Most of these DJ-mixes are collages, more than compilations, so dividing
them to tracklists would not really work.

Besides, we already have spotify for that ;-)

(As a Mixcloud contributor 'ambientblog', I host ambient collages which
sometime feature sounds of 4 tracks simultaneously).

I can somehow understand why Mixcloud is 'closed'. They claim to pay
royalties to the artists, though I don't understand exactly how they do
that. Would e nice if they 'opened' up their API for paying customers,
like Spotify does. I'd be more than willing to contribute.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2011-06-13 Thread NeilF

My superdatetime has stopped displaying properly (again). I no longer
get the graphic image displayed on the squeezebox, and instead just a
weather.com logo.

There's also an * top-right.

I've applied the latest version, which I downloaded and unzipped into
the plugin folder. Squeezebox tells me I'm running 5.9.7.

Where can the logs be found again? Any suggestions as to fixing it?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2011-06-13 Thread SlimChances

I have fixed Superdate once with a change in the par file but I noticed
today it is not working again (only displays time, date and no stock
ticker or weather displayed). I realize a solution has been suggested
for Win 7 but I have an Ubuntu system and wonder if there is a solution
for Linux. Will the next version of this plugin correct the problems? I
have ver 3.9.7. I would be happy with just a clock and stock ticker
display if it is possible to terminate the weather display which is
rarely accurate I would be most happy.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP - re-analyze?

2011-06-13 Thread dbinder101

I'm having some problems with my compilation tracks. It seems that
almost every time I ask for a mix using a compilation track as the
seed, the bulk of the mix contains tracks from that compilation series
or album (no, I do not restrict the mix to genre). In looking at the
tracks, all of them say that they are analyzed, but some of them don't
have a PUID associated with the track. So I thought I'd try to run the
analysis again through all the tracks, but I can't find any way in the
GUI to do a re-analysis. Is this possible?

The posted solution is cross platform. Only the specifics of the file
locations change from platform to platform. I've made the edits in the
attached file, you just need to replace your existing version with this
one and restart SBS. (Be sure to take off the .zip extension -- I've
only added that so the board will allow me to upload the file. Which
makes me think I'm violating some etiquette by posting this...)

On my VortexBox, which is Fedora based, the path for this file is:
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SuperDateTime/lib/

Exactly correct. I used the following post
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=635927&postcount=2191 for
my Ubuntu server. The only difference being that my plugins are in
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SuperDateTime
