Sorry, seems like my ISP's web hosting service has died. Some people did
donwload and install fine yesterday, so nothing wrong with my deployment.
Hopefully my ISP will fix the problem with their servers today (but it is a

That's annoying - it appears that my ISP's web hosting service has gone done
down. Being a bank holiday, they seem to be slow investigating the fault too
:-(

It's not the plugin - many people downloaded it yesterday (over 100, if the
website stats are to be trusted), and several people emailed to tell me it was
now working perfectly in 6.1.

If I stop and start SbS manually, it doesn't install the plugin.

Hopefully that solves most people's troubles. Maintaining a plugin

I'm using the remote control for my Squeezebox Duet. The "play all"
shows on the menu, but when you select it, it doesn't do anything. And
unfortunately if you drill down to the individual song select it, then
hit "play" on the next menu, it just plays the one song. I can't seem
to figure out any way to play an album from within a library.

You say that "play all" is supposed to work. Is there anything I can
provide you with that might help you diagnose the problem?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2011-08-28 Thread pippin

Yes, it's a problem with the 2.0 versions of the plugin with SBS 7.5.x
and iPeng.
iPeng uses the traditional CLI with SBS versions before 7.6 for
Triode's plugin because that was needed with the 1.x versions, however,
that interface is broken with the new plugin and the plugin doesn't
return any data anymore.

We'll need to see how we can get this fixed, worst case is I have to
make a fix in iPeng which would take at least a week to get to the App
Store.

The new version of iPeng seems to spontaneously lower volume. For

player is no longer at full volume, and I have to drag it to full
volume again. This is very annoying and didn't happen with any prior

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Playlist Manager version 6.0 released

2011-08-28 Thread Phil Meyer
For all those people that have been pestering me to release a version that
works with SBS 6.0, I've just uploaded Playlist Manager version 6.0.

The plugin should be available through SBS Plugin download manager, or
available for manual install from my website
(http://www.hergest.demon.co.uk/Music/slim/PlaylistManPlugin.htm).

This version is mainly to add support for SBS 6.0 and greater, but also
contains some minor changes, including:

- Fixed some existing problems with exiting the Save Playlist and Add to New
Playlist menu actions for ip3k players.
- More consistent with where the user is returned to when exiting menus across
all types of players.
- Better support for adding Remote tracks/playlists to playlists.
- Cleaned up some log messages.

I've tested with SBS 7.5.6 and SBS 7.6 latest nightly (7.6.2 trunk revision
33231).

Many thanks to Kurt Poulsen who helped with beta testing, esp. on a Squeezebox
Controller.

Thus menus will look the same as when using a Squeezebox directly.

Only when using MySB.com the iPads language is used.

Yes, local music plays fine and also other radio stations in "staff

Can it be that there is some clash between 7.5.5 and the plugin? Then
I'll just have to wait for 7.6 for gentoo?

I have now looked at the /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log and when

Works fine for me. Is your account in the plugin settings set correctly?
Does everything else work in iPeng?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2011-08-28 Thread RockyRaccoon

Triodes Spotify-plugin seems to have stopped working in iPeng (both
iPhone and iPad) lately, entering Spotify just results in iPeng
displaying its waiting icon indefinitely. It works fine from the web
interface. Anyone else noticed this?

Squeezebox Version: 7.5.5 - r32671 (gentoo)
Plugin: Spotify (v2.0.1)
iPeng for iPad: 1.2

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC radio 3 high definition sound fault?

2011-08-28 Thread g8vju

Are other users having problems with BBC R3 HD link? I have 3 logitech
devices and all are currently producing a burbling effect, I guess a bit
rate setting problem? It's been apparent since Saturday 27th and is
still a problem Sunday 28th. I have restarted my router, but problem is
still apparent. Linn jazz at 320kbs works all ok so I assume fault is at
BBC end?
Can't find any link to report to BBC!

It's supposed to play the music, so it looks like you have found a bug.
Which interface are you using ? SBS web interface, Squeezebox Touch
touch screen, IR remote, something else ?

Unfortunately there is no way around this at the moment, I need to
implement the "touch to play" behavior which is now used in SBS,
currently Custom Browse plugin uses the old behavior used previously by
SBS where it showed track details when selecting a track. If you are
using the web interface or IR remote, or Squeezebox Controller, you
should be able to hit the "Play" button to play music but this won't
work in the touch screen based interfaces as they don't have a separate
"Play" button.
