Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Hi, I recently upgraded my synology ds211+ to DSM 3.2 and SBS 7.6.1 (Synology finally made a 7.6 SBS server available as a package). Unfortunately the spotify plugin has problems in this new setting. (I do use version 2.0.3). I am rebooting the NAS every morning to save power during the night, it seems that the spotify plugin does not always come up: One day I had [07:01:47.295856] main:362 /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/arm-linux/spotifydnoflac 2.0.2 started [07:01:49.250038] main:550 connection not readable Today I had: [07:01:47.269344] main:460 new connection [07:01:48.277595] main:550 connection not readable [07:01:48.277750] _sighandler:44 signal 11 (Segmentation fault), address is 0x38 from 0x407992f0 In both cases, the helper app was not running. I never had any problems with the plugin running SBS 7.5.4 but obviously prefer not to downgrade, since 7.6.1 is much faster. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: License Manager, plugins/applets going commercial
A new License Manager plugin and applet is now available for installation. The plugin/applet will be required for the people using my other applets or plugins, the purpose is that the full functionality in the applets/plugins will slowly start to only be available for paying customers. I've thought a lot about this and refused to do it for a long time but I've now started to realize that maintaining the plugins/applets and supporting users that use them takes up too much time to justify the effort. Instead of stop the maintenance/support I've decided to try to get some economical compensation from the work. THE PRINCIPLE WILL WORK AS FOLLOWS: - The plugin/applet will generate a unique identity based on your mysqueezebox.com identity. - Installation of applets/plugins will work as before, you do that through SBS Settings/Plugin. - After installation, the commercial plugins will show up but they will have limited or no functionality available. To open up the functionality you will need to get a license, this is done through the License Manager plugin settings page in SBS Settings or for users without a local SBS go directly with a web browser to license.isaksson.info and register. - All payments will be handled completely through PayPal - It will be possible to get a free 30 day evaluation license without paying anything. - Licensing will be available as a cheap time restricted license or as a more expensive license without any time restriction. - The plugins/applets will continue to be open source, so you will get the source and are free to change it and re-distribute exactly as before. REGARDING PRICING: I've decided to start slowly until I know that everything works properly, so now at the start the exact pricing will be up to you. You pay what you think a one year license is worth. Depending on the outcome this might change later and I might specify an exact price, at least for some of the plugins/applets. If you want an unlimited non time restricted license, there are some indications about what kind of amounts I currently expect when registering your payment. It's important to understand that the number of users using my plugins/applets today when they are free are limited, we are not talking about many thousands users, so the pricing will never be anywhere close the $1 prices you see on the iOS/Android app markets. Since each payment will result in some work for me, I'd like to discourage payments below $5. CURRENTLY LICENSED PLUGINS/APPLETS: I've decided to start slow until I know the principle works, so at the moment there is only one licensed plugin and that's the just released beta version of *SQL Playlist*. I'll add more during the next weeks/months when I've seen the outcome of SQL Playlist. The reason I started with SQL Playlist is because it has relatively few users, the more common plugins will be switched to commercial mode a bit later. TO ANY PREVIOUS DONATORS: I really appreciate your donations, so please send me an e-mail with: - the 40 character account identity on top of License Manager settings page together - the PayPal identity you used when previously donating - The plugins/applets you like a license to Based on this information I'll give you a free license period based on your previous donation. TO ANYONE THAT HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME HELPING ME PREVIOUSLY WITH BETA TESTING AND FEEDBACK: The same applies to you as previous donators, just send me the above mentioned information and I'll give you a free license period, please mention your Slim Devices forum account name so I know who you are and can verify what kind of beta testing/feedback you have previously provided. TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO HELP OR BE PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE Please install License Manager plugin and/or applet and verify that it successfully shows a 40 character account identity, if this doesn't work for some users I'd like to know so I can fix it before switching more plugins/applets to the commercial mode. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: License Manager, plugins/applets going commercial
Is this licensing also applicable for SBS 7.5, or is it 7.6 onwards? At the moment I'm still using 7.5, as I don't consider 7.6 fit for purpose yet. Will current/future plugin updates work for 7.5 or do the newer versions only support 7.6+. I hope this works for you, because your plugins and support time are becoming even more crucial with each new release of SBS/LMS that offers less funtionality. When (or if I ever) move to 7.6+, I'd be willing to pay for the plugins again. Phil ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have never used virtual cards - other users have used them. I think you search the thread to see if they have documented it. You should test the audio source by using Sound Recorder or similar to record audio. Once you have found a correct device to records - you can then use that device in WaveInput just uses arecord. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I think then you should try to use as a Favorite wavin:hw:0,1 You can use SBS logging to check the arecord command being used to feed PCM into SBS. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] irBlaster plugin help
I hate to say this but the ir blaster plugin appears to be broke for many folks and it doesn't appear like there will be any updates to it. If you have set the player to fixed volume you should not be able to to change the squeezebox volume, only your amp.I'm afraid it is likely that the plugin is broken. If you search ir plugin you will see lots of posts about this ,including some from me. -- jhonsber...@msn.com jhonsber...@msn.com's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4438 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90365 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have nothing to do with Airplay and shairport - it sound slike someone tool the WaveInput plugin and changed it to suit Airplay. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Sorry if this has been mentioned already in this monster thread, but search has failed me (or I'm the one that failed). When I launch SqueezeCenter I get the following alert that pops up every 1-2 minutes: You can't open the application spotifydppc because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. This is on a Mac OS X 10.7.1 Mac Mini server running a SqueezeCenter 7.7 nightly note that I can reproduce this issue with the current public release as well.
