use soft volume for that, in sq2u (there is no way to control output

AirPlay=RAOP V2, Audio, video, pictures)

Correction: I see there *IS* a volume command, purpose of which is to
have immediate effect on the receiver side (as to avoid delay cause by
buffering on playing device - but all this is handled by libshairport
anyway)

Thats a shame. Maybe let user disable it if CPU is not powerfull enough
instead?

using squeezelite to decode data and pipe pcm to upnp renderers.

That could be usefull, I am looking for a way to pipe MPD output to UPnP
renderer... where can I find that code?

Yes, I'm positive. In your App I go into "My Apps | (Core) Spotify",
select "Top 100", select "Tracks", and hold down on the first track, I
get a context menu with the generic items as I said. In SqueezePlay,
for the same track I get all the custom items.

I'll look into it. It could be that the context menu isn't updating and
is still showing the the items from the last time it was opened.

Remove localplayer and install via the SoA script for squeezelite? (you
will need to manually edit the config file in this case)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: SB Player, a software Squeezebox player app for Android.

2015-01-02 Thread adam2434

I still wonder if the Fire TV HDMI would recognize an AVR or pre/pro as
a display device, without the need for the actual display to be powered
on. For example, when I connect my laptop’s HDMI to my pre/pro, the
laptop indicates the pre/pro’s model number as the connected display,
because it is receiving the HDMI signal. If I get a Fire TV, I’ll test
this. Anyone with the Fire TV’s HDMI connected to an AVR or pre/pro
could also test this.

I would be using the Fire TV with a front projector, so would not want
to fire up the projector just to start the Fire TV. However, if I only
need to turn on the pre/pro…no big deal.

My library is 100% 16/44.1 flac files, so I could set the SB Player
output accordingly and hope that the Fire TV’s optical outputs an
unmolested 16/44.1 PCM signal. My DAC displays sample rate, so I would
at least be able to verify the 44.1 kHz sample rate. Hopefully, the
Fire TV doesn’t resample to a set sample rate, like the ATV does at 48
kHz.

As a side note, I would assume that the Fire TV’s optical is capable of
outputting 48 kHz, since that is the standard for audio soundtracks from
video content.

How does the SB Player handle replaygain? A 24 bit or 32 bit volume
control within the Fire TV?

Something odd has happened.
I have "lost" New Music & Smart Mix from my bottom menu and they have

to get them back. If I hit Edit they aren't listed.
I recently did a full rescan on my server. Has this confused iPeng? All
the albums etc are listed.

2015-01-02 Thread d6jg

I have a Fire TV and an HDMI AV receiver but one is upstairs the other
downstairs. I will see if I can try it in next couple of days.
Not sure about autostart but can confirm that switching TV off does NOT
cause SB Player to shut down. I know this because I have discovered an
issue as a bi product of that.
I did a full rescan today and iPeng (which I use as a controller) would
not resync.
I hadn't turned any of my players off which is normal. Ipeng would only
resync after I powered the Fire TV off - other players were still on. It
was like SB Player was constantly polling the server and blocking ipeng.
Just FYI.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: squeeze2upnp, a bridge between LMS and uPNP devices

2015-01-02 Thread afalout

I wonder if anyone else have a simmilar problem:

Onkyo/Integra receivers have the option to allow DLNA function to be
kept active while on standy, but wont accept any UPnP commands UNLESS
they are powered on >and< input is set to NET >and< on NET menu DLNA
option is selected >and< in DLNA menu *any* UPnP server is elected.

Silly? Mad? Contradicting? Self defeating?

Or all of the above...

Anyway, I need to write a script, using proprietary Onkio remote control
codes (Nothing to do with UPnP) to switch Onkyo in the state it can
actaully receive DLNA commands - otherwise it will simply return
"Transport locked"

So I wonder... can it be done that an configuration option is added,
that would contain a command line of an external executable/script, that
would get called every time a device returns "Transport locked"? And
wait for it to exit.

Perhaps:

MANUFACT="*ONKYO*"
/bin/bash /usr/bin/myScript.sh %IP %FNAME
%MAN %MODEL %UDN
1

Thanks,
Andrej

Normally LMS will automatically downsample but perhaps your server has
not got sox installed for some reason - perhaps it is a low power NAS.

Does your LMS server have sox installed ?
Give details of your LMS server (e.g. version, OS, system type,
processor etc)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite soft power off/on detect

2015-01-02 Thread britcowboy

Hi Folks,

I was curious about catching the soft power on/off events on a
squeezelite client in order to run some commands on the back of it, like
switching amps on/off via wifi power sockets, and programs etc.

Does a plugin like this exist? If not, do I have to create my own
plugin, how easy is it to do this? (I am a programmer but not really
dabbled in Python, and never in Squeezebox Server plugins)

Thanks

I can catch this error 705 and call an external program. I've added that
to the TODO list for 0.1.5.x. I also need to change some of the
threading structure of the upnp players management, this is important
for future evolutions, but a bit delicate, so it is likely that this
next version will take a while
