The repository should work, but it's not standard - you need to manually
add the repository on the plugin screen.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: ShairTunes2 plugin - Airtunes on your LMS

2016-08-05 Thread SamS

First off, a big THANK YOU for offering this. I'm very excited.

I downloaded and followed the instructions. I see my Squeezeboxes as
AirPlay destinations. But when I try to select them from my iPhone, the
music just skips a bit and never connects to the Squeezebox. Which part
of the instructions did I not do properly?
I'm running OS X 10.11 and LMS 9.0.

btw: The Filestructure from Linux is pretty simple and it follows simple
(but many) 'rules'
I found it simpler (ok i am using only one distro) than Windows where
things are stored here and there or in the registry.

Split your playlist into 4.
500 tracks at an average length of say 3 mins equates to 25 hours.
Surely that with random play switched on is enough for one day.
On day 2 play the second playlist etc.

Don't think they're the cause. DASH just uses standard http requests and
they are the same for live and on-demand. With "chunked http" (DASH,
HLS, HDS) many tcp connections are opened and closed as each tcp
connection just gets a short (about 6 secs) chunk of "audio file" . I
wonder if it is a variant of the DNS caching issue that can mess up the
plugin playing HLS streams.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify 500 playlist limit

2016-08-05 Thread CarlosGT

Hi,

I´m running LMS 7.7.6 with Spotify 1.0 Plugin and Spotify Procol Handler
1.1.1

I use to play with Triode´s plugin but there was no way to upload the
playlist made with it so i can see it on the Spotify account (i guess it
is stored local and no way to upload it). Triode´s can play long
playlist larger than 500.

I can not make LMS to play the full playlist and it only gets 500 song
(my playlist is 1600). I have set up the "advanced" parameters to let
the LMS handle large playlist (as i told i works with Triode´s)

Any suggestion?

Thank you.

I can't think of a reason for the problem - if both are using DASH -
they are running the same code just "live" cannot prefetch as much as
"on demand". I can't help with W10 - I'm sticking with W7 - the split

go with your browser to
http://lms:9000/settings/server/status.html?

take a look @ something like Folder for extras:
in my case the 2.ns row shows
-/var/lib/squeezeboxserver//var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins,-

you need to search the part with *cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins*

open putty or whatever you use and cd to that Folder.
eg cd /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins

now delete the Plugin Folder
rm -r SmartMix (take a look how its spelled) linux is case sensitive and
i didnt have smartmix anymore.

Now go back (leave the linux open) to the browser and take a look at the
line above

Something like Folder for settings
You need to copy the row behind that
in my case its -/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs-

go back to your linux and cd to that folder - attach plugin behind the
line.
eg *cd /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin*

there might be some file named SmartMix.prefs

delete it
stop lms and restart it.

now it should be gone.

If you get that error, then yes, it's not up to date. I think he updated
a day or two before I added that call.

But FWIW: I've modified LastMix to come with a replacement which should
work with older builds, too. It will print a warning in the log saying
that LMS was outdated. But you can ignore this for now. If you still get
it after the next LMS update, then something's wrong.

Make sure you got LastMix 1.1.3 or more recent.
