Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Where are the soundcloud and mixcloud LMS plugins supposed to showup in LMS?
Everything now seems to be working. Not sure I can recapitulate all of the steps (or the order). But I think the outline was: 1. follow the instructions to clear the LMS cache http://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/8377?product=a0qi0069us5AAA 2. restart the LMS server now i could see at least some apps under "my apps" in the LMS Webui but the mix and soundcloud plugins had reverted from installed back to 3rd party, so i re-installed them the LMS server wouldn't restart properly after that 3. restart my computer 4. voilà, the mix and soundcloud apps now appear under myapps (your mileage may differ) I'm able to get some of the Soundcloud tracks to play, so I know that's working as well as it can. But at this point I haven't found a Mixcloud track that will play, so I'm guessing that's the problem others have already identified about content types that are not playable by LMS at this point. thanks Pippin for all your help. and to this community in general for both software development and support :) LMS 7.9 Win 10 SBV3 duet serving vintage Marantz 2230, large Advents and ADS 710. funky and wonderful that this new tech can talk to this old stuff moxbox's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63382 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106117 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
I again had the problem on LMS 7.8.0 on WHS V1 that I couldn't update the plugin by halt and restart of LMS. I had to reboot the entire machine same as last time, and this time I know it was rebooted recently so it isn't some effect of the machine having been running for months. But I'm now on iPlayer 1.4.9. I checked cache.db before the upgrade (and then deleted it). It was still about 700MB, the size it's been for many months. So 1.4.8 did not cause it to grow in size at all. All I played on 1.4.8 was brief listen again tests, and several hours a day of Radio 2 live 320kbps Dash AAC. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
I've posted a 1.4.9 release due to cache problem with 1.4.8. Essentially 1.4.9 is 1.4.7 with just one fix to solve the recent no audio issue. 1.4.8 caused cache.db to grow to unreasonable size. I've also noticed on a few occasions the startup delay described by other posters. This needs to be identified & fixed. 1.4.7 still seems to grow the cache.db file but at a much smaller rate - this needs to be checked. Once cache.db has grown it does not seem to shrink even after expiry of entries or purging - this needs to be confirmed. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Still doing test but I think I understand the issue Looking back I only turned on cache for both HSL and DASH in 1.4.8 so cache size should not have been an issue before 1.4.7. I have been using this cache setting for 6 months but I clear cache.db on every LMS startup and I do that often so didn't notice the issue. While the cache entries will expire in 1h - it seems LMS only purges the caches at 8h interval. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
My cache.db (which is only a couple of days old) has 227 rows in it, even though I haven't listened to anything since about 2pm. It hasn't shrunk at all during observation over the the last hour or so, either. The expiry column in the table is integers, so it's hard without looking at the code (which I haven't done) to understand the values but they range from 1473854403 to 1474631702, if that can be interpreted by anyone. The blob values indicate the cached entries with the lowest timeout number are from browsing the available plugins, something I did yesterday. By the time I get through to what I am guessing to be http chunks containing audio (they are each typically just under 256k), they all have text in them identifying them as being from today, although I did use iPlayer yesterday. I do seem to have overly-aged cached values from more than one source. Is the 1 hour timeout default configurable? Can I find it somewhere to see what mine is currently set to, or is it hard coded? Or is it common for this timeout to be overridden? DASH had a problem with redirection so I basically copied the SimpleAsyncHTTP and modified the OnRedirect. I need to test with HLS to see if problem happens - if not then it is in my version of SimpleAsyncHTTP. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

For example: -(not enough posts to link image, will edit)- I do have the plugin enabled in settings: -(not enough posts to link image, will edit)- As far as I know, I am running the latest version of LMS: Code: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1473501469 @ Sat Sep 10 10:07:19 UTC 2016 Hostname: [redacted] Server IP Address: [redacted] Server HTTP Port Number: 9000 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.22.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Audio::Scan: 0.95 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) Total Players Recognized: 2 Thanks in advance! bertieb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I don't know the default LMS cache expiry timeout but if it is say 15 minutes - then cache size should level out after 15 minutes. I'm running a test and mayeb later today I'll have some better numbers. Default is 1h. But you can override the expiry with every cached value. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

As an example while running a test for the cache issue - I just started a LIve R3 test. The 96k stream started within 1 sec but within 1 minute I had two instances of packet response delays from BBC of 7 sec and 15 secs and now stream is steady. Log message can indicate if more work is needed to handle the delays/rebuffering. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

LMS caches HTTP fetches and with chunked http (i.e. HLS, DASH) streams are made up of typically 3-6 sec chunks of audio each fetch with http so you can see there are a lot of http fetches that will be cached. With HLS there are even more http fetches for the playlist which is updated about every 2 secs. It may have happened with 1.4.7 as well. If you watch the cache.db file while playing a station you can watch it increasing in size. I've just noticed that when I use BBC iplayer the size of my cache.db file shoots up. After 4.5 hours of Radio 2 in DASH at 320kbps it has increased from 47MB to 724MB. Yesterday I had to delete the cache.db file to free space on my 8GB card in my Max2Play server because it was full. Cache.db was up to over 1GB. Is this normal?
