If I create a new thread - people will still post to the old ones - so there is less chance of finding anything and more confusion. Use of Flac was by definition "bleeding" edge as it was part of BBC Taster - if you want to test you must pay attention. I implemented it (and segment times) as part of a user request. I try to make it as easy as possible. The flac stream is ONLY on the "Radio 3 Flac menu" > I still don't know which of the two repos I mentioned is the 'right' > one - I think you said DASH and 1.5.2 quote the same repo, but it seems > not, or I have read it wrong? I don't know what is "right" for you - do you want "stable" or "latest version to be tested" such as Flac ? Some people wanted "Flac" so the "right" one is the version with "Flac support" even though it is being tested. There is only and only ONE repo for stable DASH. It will always deliver the latest stable version - it was 1.5.2 and it isnow 1.5.3 and will be 1.5.x in the future. It will NOT deliver a version that is "fresh" or experimental or has not been used by a few other users. > I don't even know if HLS still works, since DASH is still test, or did I > miss something? I don't know whether HLS works either - as I said frequently I do not support HLS - this branch of the plugin is about supporting DASH and I have no non LMS way to test BBC HLS (I have no iPhone or iPad). > I hope you get a flavour of the confusion some of use feel. If you want just use the same URL I gave at the start of the 1.5.2 thread. This way life is simple for you. If you want "latest" / "bleeding" / "may break" then use the other URLs I post from time to time but they will disappear as a new version appear and so you have to pay attention - which means following threads and reading posts. I cannot test for UK users or OSX or Win10 so I must publicise latest versions to get a small group of testers with a spread of systems. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It's all been 'test' of some form for a very long time, or so it seems to me. As far as I can see, the DASH 1st post says use "http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/repo-short.xml; The 1.5.2 thread 1st post says use "http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/betarelease-repo.xml; I can't now find the bleeding edge posts I may have lost my marbles. LMS does not expect network setup to change when it is running. So if you start a VPN while LMS is running , or stop a VPN which was running when LMS was started - it will cause problems. I'd advise stopping LMS when playing around with the VPN. Also BBC has VPN detectors so you may get strange problems when using BBCiPlayer due toi BBC (who use CDNS such as akamai). Which control panel LMS Control Panel or Windows Conrl PAnel - I don;t use Windows LMS that often but I can;t see a setting for Proxy in the LMS Control Panel Windows AFAIK Settings in a Windows control panel will not get "inserted" into LMS setting - except for items such as IP address which are really just a copy taken at LMS startup. Proxy acting at Windows level should be invisible to LMS - if not then it is a bad proxy. Uninstalling and reinstalling s/w will do nothing. The plugin code saves nothing ansd reloads everything each time BBCiPlayer menu is entered. LMS gets details at startup. Your probelm may be related to caches. There are LMS caches and can be cleared using the LMS Control Panel Adfbaced Tab - Cleanup section. Stop LMS and Clear the cache rather than uninstall. Some Windows setups used to have very aggressive caching which could keep "bad" information for days - serving it up days after a problem has gone away. Not sure about Win10. Try clearing the Windows DNS cache from command prompt "ipconfig /flushdns" as it might be holding bad data. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!
Has anyone had luck with Spotty on Raspberry Pi3 running OSMC? I get this in log: "Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1250) Warning: [16:36:20.6830] DBIx::Class::ResultSet::update_or_create(): Query returned more than one row. SQL that returns multiple rows is DEPRECATED for ->find and ->single at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Schema.pm line 1877" "Plugins::Spotty::Connect::initHelpers (270) Initializing Spotty Connect helper daemons..." .. .. .. "Plugins::Spotty::SettingsAuth::shutdownHelper (162) Quitting authentication daemon" I had to install perl to be able to run LMS OSMC, added SSL ,curl, pv.. wget was already there.. I can see Spotty authorisation page and players activation checkbox but it is not functioning.. (both player and authorization not visible on Spotify client) I'm able to stream from Spotify in normal fashion (its bit slow though) but Connect isn't working at all Any ideas? I've managed to run it on Raspbian but stuck on OSMC.. For best quality leave at default, including bitrate limiting -disabled -for the player. The OP was not asking for best quality, but how to decrease the bandwidth used. Spotty always streams in a PCM or FLAC format with higher bitrate and bandwidth than any mp3 format has. Enabling a bitrate limit for a player, makes LMS automatically transcode any stream in higher bitrate, to the given mp3 bitrate format. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
You have lots of different problems - which I think are interacting and makign things worse. 1. You seem to pause a player when playing BBCiplayer live streams - this will cause the "estimated delay" messages. This pause may be due to a player setting "Pause on Power off". BBC does not allow pauses longer than 3 hours. To get rid of this issues change the player setting to "Stop on Power off" 2. The database seems to be corrupt or not setup properly - I'd advise "clear and rescan everyhting". 3. Youtub plugin has some problems - don't use when trying to solve this probem - oif the file descrpitpopgoies away then you'll know it is Youtube 4. There are a number of http 500 errors - in theory these are destination problems and nothing to do with your system but they seem t come from timeservers - so I suspect there is something messing with your network stack - what security s/w are you using ? 5. There are number of long dealys from BBC - this means you ISP connection is not great. What is your local network setup I hope LMS is not on a wireless connection ? The above is a first pass but until you address some of these issues - the real problem will not become clear. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Connection timeout - means bad or no network connection. This is nothign to do with the plugin so removing & reinstalling it is a waste of time. This network problems seems to be confirmed by the same problen you then have with the repoisitory which is a totally differnet web site to the BBC. What I think is happening is you have a network or network interface issue which means LMS has intermittent service - but by the time you have uininstall and reinstalled s/w - the network problem has gone away and not fixed by reinstall. Look at your network and network connection - not at LMS or the plugins. LMS caches network responses so if there are problems so they can seem to persist. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
I occasionally get this when I try to play a BBC stream. Then I remove the iPlayer plugin and try to reinstall it; but then I get this message saying -"Bad repository http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml - Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor" -whichever repository I try. So then I can't reinstall any BBC iPlayer plugin. The last time it happened I completely uninstalled LMS and started again, and it worked. I've just done again, and can't find any way to reinstall the plugin. Now I'm faced with the same again - a real pain. Oh dear looks like I've fallen into the ever-expanding img blackhole! I extracted the img from the card (16 GB), so I guess I'll need to find a 32 GB card for the back up! Why is there no easy way to reduce an img? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi everybody, Sorry about the late response. I'll go through in order. @BigTony: You can just remove the tick for "autostart" under the Squeezelite section of the Audioplayer tab and click "save", as man in the van mentioned. Then, you can either manually stop the player and it won't start up again or reboot the device and the player should be gone from your server's list. @castalla: Yes, you can back up your image with any normal imager software. If you are referring to' this guide' (https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/creating-an-image-backup/), please let us know how we can make it more comfortable in the future. If you do not want to use another SD card for the back-up you can also just use a SambaShare to access the created .img file from any other device in your network and copy it. @man in the van: Thanks for the quick replies and exchange in my absence. :) Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Should I be able to use the Playlist Manager plug-in via the web interface?
I've recently resurrected my Squeezebox Touch for use and gradually moving digital music saved elsewhere back on to it. The facility to create and edit existing playlists without them being the -current- playlist was desired so I installed the *Playlist Manager* plug-in. I can see the added functionality by using the iPeng app on iOS but I really wanted to start building some playlists using the browser UI as it's a lot easier with a bigger screen but I can't see the options to do that, the + symbol only adds to the current playlist. Should *Playlist Manager* add functionality to the browser UI? Thanks in advance for any replies. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty playback stops & LMS server hangs
I have similar problems for about a week ago: near the end of every track the music is 'paused' for about 1 to 2 seconds, and continues afterwards. The next track starts normally after it. Unfortunately I have submitted this issue in the wrong part of this forum: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108074-Spotty-playlist-problem-audio-drops-near-end-of-track. That is why propably no replies appear... I hope that it can be fixed soon. I am using the most recent versions of PiCoreplayer, LMS and Spotty... no wifi, I am using a 1 GB lan connection. 1 x PiCoreplayer, 2 x Squeezebox Radio, 1 x Squeezebox Touch tomsat50's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56916 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108009 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I haven't received 2.2.x either yet (Google Pixel, Android 8 Orio). But I will take the opportunity to thank db122 (Ben?) for taking up development of Orange Squeeze again. The first new 2.1 updates quickly fixed a couple of annoying issues I had before. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Question regarding Spotty / Spotify stream quality options
As I understand it the "Sound Quality" as determined by Spotify is one stream of 160 thingies per sec and another of 320 thingies per sec. So changing the Sound Quality setting should result in the use of a lower bandwidth. What I did not remember (until the post by Stig) is that the Spotty plugin is "fixed" at 320 thingies, regardless. It is possible apparently, to utilise librespot at the lower bandwidth but the developer deprecates the idea. IMO encouraging users to be "Premium" means Spotify is more likely to use the "Nelson touch" with regard to librespot.
