I have set as suggested, will see how it goes. 2. I use the LMS to gain access to my itunes and Flac library, files that are stored on a Nas, from my two SQBox radios and any networked audio device.. e.g: AVR, Oppo, Android TV box, Desktop PC etc all have a "source" that appears as the "Logitech Media Server" and shows my music folders on the Nas... it is this "source" that will disappear.. I have been using the system that way since I started many, many years ago.. I did not think it was necessary to control playback from a different unit other than on the one which I was using to listen from. -I live and learn.-.. I have been recently playing with the android app "Squeezer" which I have on my android phone, and that controls the system in a similar way to what you describe... So now I have that extra convenience I will continue to operate in that mode. Thanks again for putting me right.. 3. when I say slow.. I mean it plays the files at a sloww speed. Like a vinyl record played at 33rpm when it should be at 45rpm, but even more slow.. the voices sound like a devil and the music is in a much lower key.. I assume it's to do with sample rates somehow.. mp3's are fine but Flac and m4b are affected.. Thanks for your time and effort, much appreciated cheers CD doobre's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66910 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
The windows machine is a desktop machine that is always on and given that we've narrowed it down to something likely about the "the expiry time of the token", wonder if we can put in place something to do some further diagnosis. We haven't narrowed it down to this. I only expressed my thought that one hour would represent the duration for which a token lasted. After which Spotty had to get a new token - which might point to something, but that's not a given. First of all, are you able to explain to me what exactly is expiring? Is In order to access Spotify's servers you need a token. This token you get in exchange for your credentials, and it's valid for one hour. After this you need to get a new one. it the spotify login auth token or ? Who is issuing the token? Can we possibly add a few lines of logging to spotty to figure out what's happening/what's going wrong? There already is a lot of logging. But none of it would show anything unusual. As I mentioned, I turned off every anti virus or port blocking security application I could think of on the windows machine, but is it also worth trying to modify any config setting (use another port instead of 9000 or ?) that you can think of? If there was a problem then I'd have thought it was outgoing. BUT as it eventually would work, I don't believe there's a fundamental problem with that. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi all Long time user of Squeeze and iPeng but am stumped. Live in the UK and recently upgraded TV to Sky Q - this is a new router, a master box with recording disk and Sky Q minibox ; the minibox is a slave of the Q box in a different room. The Minibox is also a wi-fi extender. Since having the boxes my ipeng apps (I have 3 old iphones and one ipad) have intermittently stopped working...I think when I am on the boosted signal near the minibox it stops and when I am taking the signal from the main router it works. All other wifi things work fine Anyone had similar experiences and know where to go with this? Hi there here is a zip file of the logs I found for LMS server, scanner and Upnp bridge, which may be helpful in my case, to sort out a couple of issues.. 1. why the bridge sometimes has a meltdown, loses control and stutters when playing on the Yamaha 2. You can try to change "PCM format" to "wav" in the plugin setings, for *that* player but wav comes with potentially a lot of other issues when used in streaming mode (which is sort of necessary here). If you really want HR, you'd need that, but otherwise, I'd recommend moving to AirPlay mode and using my AirPlay bridge. Yes, it's limited to 16/44.1 which will not make a real difference (don't want to start a flame war here, just my opinion) and will work much more easily and give you replaygain, sync, fade modes etc. LMS 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi, Sorry if this has been discussed already somewhere in the previous 175 pages. I have had a search but couldn't find anything. I have a shiny new Yamaha RX-V683 AV receiver with built in DLNA renderer. It's great except it only supports ALAC up to 24/96 and doesn't support replay gain. The vast majority of my music library is ALAC with quite a bit of hires stuff, some over 96kHz and all of it tagged with replaygain data. I was hoping the best way to get around this would be to have everything converted to pcm on the fly with replaygain taken into account. I've followed the replaygain instructions in the bride user guide with some success. The streams seem to be transcoded to PCM but hires streams produce REALLY loud, distorted music. Other music sounds great. I have included the bridge log from startup, playing a 16 bit track followed by a 24/96. The only thing I can see that seems a bit odd is that the bridge doesn't seem to detect that the renderer is capable of 24bit playback, which it is. At least according to the specs found here: https://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/av_receivers_amps/rx-v683/features.html#product-tabs https://pastebin.com/jw7egty4 So, is this best way to achieve what I'm looking for? I guess it's saved somewhere else. So the "don't announce" box seems to not to anything on my system. Is there anything I can try to fix this? I was also trying to move the players from one user to another, by choosing user2 from the menus and restarting the connect feature. I have four players set up (two PCP boxes, one UPNP Bridge and one Group player). Thanks - At the risk of shocking others :), I think I'll do the following in initPlugin (and reverting it in shutdownPlugin) Code: eval {require Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA}; if ($@) { my $lib = catdir(Slim::Utils::PluginManager->allPlugins->{'ShairTunes2W'}->{'basedir'}, "lib"); move(catdir($lib, "_Crypt"), catdir($lib, "Crypt")); $log->warn("cannot find system OpenSSL::RSA, trying local version"); require Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA; Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA->new_private_key( $airport_pem ) || do { $log->error( "RSA private key import failed" ); return; }; } Probably not pretty, but it avoid the duplication in all versions and all archs because I'm afraid that duplication under Perl version only will not suffice: if for a version I have provided build for at least one arch, but not the one the current ont and the system Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA is installed, then it will still try to use my .pm version instead of the system one and will fail. I think that this hack guarantees that mine will only be used if system fails LMS 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2.
