Or have anybody a solution?

ok, I'm lost now.

I have BBC iplayer v 1.6.7 and PLay HLS 1.1 on my LMS v7.9.1 and I enter

The result is shown in the screenshot attached. No sound, and Null shown

I made a mistake - I gave the entry as it would appear in the menu.opml
file and not for Tune-in (i.e. "&" should be just "&"). Below is
for Tune-in

The above is for UK only listeners. DASH does not seems to be working

Just checked the normal BBC metadata sources
"polling.co.uk/modules/onairpanel" and radioplayer and there seems to be
no feed for "bbc_radio_glastonbury".

The new temporary station bbc_radio_glastonbury seems to be HLS only
and no BBC standard metadata and the web page requires Flash plugin
(perhaps for metadata but can't be sure as I can get it to work) even
though I can play the m3u8 directly in the browser.

I wonder is this an inkling of BBC new direction as part of BBC Sounds
or just a mash up.

squeezelite-win.exe and its host window running, is that correct? Is

but if you sutbley change it to

Thanks for this clue, obviously, a bug. Back when I had the hidden main
window, handling hiDPI was more complicated than it otherwise would have
been and I had code to handle all the various monitor scenarios. Now
that I don't have the hidden main Window, a piece of this code remains
that may be getting called too early, in this case now that the browser
Window is created first. And I don't think I even need that code
anymore, anyway. So I am investigating this and will have a fix.

Have you got that backward ?

DASH & HLS - 101

Bandwidth is declared in the initialisation parts of the streams - the
actual bandwidth could be a fraction or even a multiple - the plugin
does not calculate it or estimate it - just displays what it is told.
AFAIK BBC use the same AAC stream same compression (i.e. compression is
just done once for all for each quality ) and then put into different
transport protocols.

HLS initialisation - (note BBC have 32 as part of the URL)

Code:

  #EXTM3U
  #EXT-X-VERSION:3
  #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=339200,CODECS="mp4a.40.2"

DASH initialisation

Code:

Well, if I go to

Radio 2 is

if I look at the url loaded in My Favourites the url is

the "amp" is missing

Must be a reason  ( but not really an important one :)

So & is correct and actually “&” is causing the stream to play HLS
no matter what.

Tech answer.
"&" is HTML encoding for "&". OPML menu needs HTML encoded URLs.
When OPML handles passes URL to plugin it will have changed HTML
encoding to normal.

So when plugin sees "&dash=" it is translated into the "amp;dash"
option (rather than "dash" option) which is unknown to the plugin and so
ignored - plugin only has one valid option "hls" to play.

Not quite. It is what the BBC says. A "false positive" would imply a
calculation was performed based on the stream data.

As a test, the non-UK stream says

Code:

  #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=50880,CODECS="mp4a.40.5"

When my PlayHLS V2.1 plugin (not released) is given a HLS playlist URL
(I.e. not the HLS Masterplaylist URL with the "bandwidth=") - it
estimates the throughput based on the segments size and duration. It is
pessimistic with HLS MPEG-TS which is is used by BBC due to overheads.
The plugin estimates the rate to be 49k which is close to the BBC
statement of 50.88k

I am pretty sure too. My recollection was that DASH always had
unbelievably nice even round numbers (e.g. 48000, 96000, 128000, 32)
whereas HLS streams always have believably strange numbers such as
50880, 135680 and 339200 as if someone measured them just once as they
never change.

For some reasons I'm having trouble with the Trackstat plugin. Viewing
an album by clicking the album from a song entry on the right side opens
the album on the left without any ratings. And it gets worse ... if the

The explanation was aimed at general readership to explain that anything
after a "&" and before the next "&" in a Favorite or Tune-in will be
ignored by the plugin and so is not used.

Iplayer Extra not playing?

IÂ’ve just updated my picoreplayer server (to version 5.0) and installed
BBC iPlay (v. 1.6.7) and iPlayer Extra (v3.1.0). iÂ’m running LMS 7.9.2
on a Rasberry Pi 2B (with a HifiBerry digi+).

Iplayer is working perfectly for both live streams and catch-up
listening, but Extra is not playing any catch-up programmes. I can
navigate and select each programme (with the nice pictures), but the
stream does not play – it sits at 0:00. It does not play if I select
‘don’t use DASH’ in the settings either.

Have I missed setting somewhere?

Thanks, Adrian.

Any messages in the server.log file ?

The "don't use DASH" is historical - it must be clear (i.e. unchecked )
as programs available through Extra are now mainly DASH with a few
podcast MP3 (a few years ago when setting was created they were mainly
FlashAAC) .

This also means the BBCiPlayer settings "Live stream preferernce " and
"on Demand Stream Preference" should be "DASH > HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC"

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2019-06-28 Thread Ron F.

Hi cpd73,

Now might not be the best time to ask about this, as I suspect you are
busy working on more important issues, but there is a basic feature I
feel is missing, or I simply cannot find it. When I create a playlist,
for example including a bunch of tracks from Spotify, I can see how many
tracks are in the queue and the total playing time at the top of the
material queue panel, but what I cannot see at a glance is where I am in
the queue as the default LMS web page displays to the right of the
progress bar after the time remaining for the currently playing track,
example: (31 of 36).

Another feature that the default LMS display has that I like is when I
move the mouse over the progress bar, I get a small popup that tells me
the time in the playing track at the point where the mouse is hovering.

Would it be difficult to add these features to the material desktop
display?

Thank you again for your hard work.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2019-06-28 Thread mrw

I may have missed the obvious, and I couldnÂ’t find anything in this
thread that covers the point.

Is there a way to get at the ‘More info’ context menu from the ‘Playing’
screen ? I see it in the ‘Queue’, under the three little dots, but not
in the ‘Playing’ screen.

In Squeezeplay, this is available from the ‘Now playing’ screen, either
from the ‘+’ icon in the top right hand corner of a ‘Touch’ style
display, or by a long press of the scroll wheel for the ‘Radio’.

So, I would appreciate a pointer, if there is one to be had, otherwise
perhaps this is an enhancement request.

Regardless, thank you, author, for this excellent plugin. It is a great
enhancement to my Squeezebox system.

Not on an iPad. On my newer iPad (Safari) I am only given the option to
copy the image. On an older iPad it only offers the option to copy parts
of the screen.

I just tried on an iMac to see what happens there. A right click on the
artwork gives a menu that offers ‘Show image’ and ‘Track info’. But not
the ‘More info’ that I seek. Both with Safari and Firefox.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.8.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-06-28 Thread DavidBulluss

Michael, just a question from an artist in our household who has songs
on Spotify... do plays of a song using Spotty register at Spotify as
plays for that song/artist? t seems to us that they do not register at
Spotify as his stats do not appear to change when I play one of his
tracks. Could it be revised so that it does register?

Regards, David

2019-06-28 Thread Paul Webster

I would be really surprised if players could tell Spotify not to include
a track in the stats.
Does playing one of those tracks when using native Spotify increment the
count as expected? ... if yes ... how quickly?
Are you using the artist's Spotify account when playing? (they might not
count self plays)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support

2019-06-28 Thread Adrian D

"The "don't use DASH" is historical - it must be clear (i.e. unchecked )
as programs available through Extra are now mainly DASH with a few
podcast MP3 (a few years ago when setting was created they were mainly
FlashAAC) .

This also means the BBCiPlayer settings "Live stream preferernce " and
"on Demand Stream Preference" should be "DASH > HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC"

"
Thanks - resetting both of these to the above seems to have sorted the
problem I've no idea why it didn't work initially - but many thanks for
the advice!
