Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
The next Store release will include a 64-bit version. The next release will also allow you to specify whether you want SLX to auto-start on login from within the app. This involves changing the Store App manifest to auto-start an assistant app (rather than SLX itself) and that app will check the setting and then start SLX if that option is set. So no more having to go into Task Manager Startup Pane to enable/disable this. One question I had was how the MS Store installer would handle an change to the auto-start task. Would it remove the previous one and add the new one? If the old one was disabled would it stay disabled on an update? I have tested it locally, but I want to run it through the actual store before publishing it, so I am using a "flighted package" (described in earlier post), to make sure all works as planned. The flighted package already published a few minutes ago, so I'll be able to confirm it all works right tonight when I get home before publishing for the public. It should work like this: When you get the next update, the old startup task will be removed and a new startup task will be created and it will be enabled. By default, the auto-start feature will be turned off in the app. What the startup task will do is check to see if you have enabled the new Squeezelite-X settings and if you have enabled Auto-Start it will start Squeezelite-X, if not it will do nothing. If previously you had Squeezelite-X automatically starting on login, you will have to re-enable this in SLX settings. If you do go in to task manager and disable the AutoStarter task, then SLX will not auto-start even if you enable it in the SLX settings, so leave the auto starter task enabled in Task manager and manage the option in SLX. This will all apply to the next version and I'll post when I have submitted it to the store, which I expect to do this weekend. None of this applies to the legacy installer. I also do not plan on distributing a 64-bit version of the legacy installer, at least for a while, because I have to add code to it to handle installing 64-bit over 32-bit uninstalling the old 32-bit if it is there, and handling all that, so that will be for later, if ever. I tried this with a 64-bit version just to make sure it all would work before going public with that. These flighted versions get published in less than an hour. The regular store version is published to all MS Store markets and jurisdictions, like 241 markets. I wonder if that impacts the time that it takes. As always thank for the report. I merged just the soundcard driver into my kernel tree, it builds just fine. I've not seen a dtoverlay for this card anywhere, does it have a hat eeprom? You can see the contents of the eeprom in /proc/device-tree/hat/. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
I really like the new Black Theme added to v1.4, as this looks better on my LCD TV. This together with the screen saver feature makes material an excellent choice for driving a large display in full screen / kiosk mode. These features lead me to the following question: would it be possible to add a feature to "Now Playing" which would permit the album image for a track that is ending to fade out and the new image for the next track to fade in? I suspect a gentle transition of the artwork would look better on a large display. Such a feature would not be triggered of course for the last track in the queue. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 3.x - Spotify Podcasts on your Squeezebox
It seems recently that the Spotty volume drops after pausing a track for even a few seconds. Its sounds almost 1/2 as loud on resume. I think this is due to transcoding: by default Spotty would stream Ogg directly to the player (if possible). When pausing or seeking it would use PCM/FLAC instead. And one of these formats seems to respect replaygain, while the other doesn't. Or similar. If you want to always have the same volume level, either turn off normalization, or disable Ogg direct for Spotty (SPT -> OGG). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

SqueezeLite 2.5.8 (January 18, 2020) TrackStat 3.3.602 I've been using Squeezelite-X for about six weeks. I really like it. I just noticed something this week that may cause me to stop using it though. Songs played through Squeezelite-X are not recognized or seen as playing or played by TrackStat. Songs played through my Booms, Classics, and even Squeezelite (squeezelite-1.8.6-997) on the same computer as Squeezelite-X are tracked by TrackStat. I searched this thread and not once is TrackStat mentioned. I'm not aware of any setting or configuration that might cause this.
