How do you define parametric? I thought it is defined by adjustable
frequency bands like you have shown.

Try `bubba` overlay (layman). It contains an ebuild for LMS 8.0 and
required CPAN modules not available in the regular portage tree. As this
build follows the Gentoo method it will keep in sync with world updates
(may require running with `--bdeps=y` or run `perl-cleaner --all`
afterwards).

Hi Bob,

Yes and No, the current version doesn't track the bleeding edge release.
Although I run it locally and use it pretty much every day, I leave it
a few months of no reported issues before moving the latest.xml
forward.

You can copy any link on the Version page and paste it into LMS plugin
repositories to grab whichever version you want, or if manually update;
the XML file shows the zip file location which you can download, extract
and replace all the files.

That said, I didn't realise that the install.xml was still on 5.22 so
I'll move that forward, thanks for the prompt!

Cheers

I took the opportunity to finally move slimserver off of my workstation
and onto a dedicated debian 10 VM. The latest available deb did not work
out of the box. But straight from git works, yay.
One of these days I may even consider a proper startup-script. Maybe.

Thank you again for keeping the lights on, all.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse, Config for Genre - Albums

2021-06-14 Thread dolodobendan

This should do the trick:

- Plugins / Custom Browse -> Settings Section: Manage menus
- "Create new menu"
- "Genre Album"
- "Next"
- "Save"

That should create a menu called "Genre Albums" in Home > Custom Browse

You might have to enable the menu in Plugins / Custom Browse -> Settings
Section: Enabled menus

I asked this because I was going to suggest that you re-install
squeezelite.

However, not being certain of the correct command I managed to botch
things up before I foound the correct one

Re-installing squeezelite gave a couple of errors that I could nor
circumscribe so I made a fresh install of raspberry PI OS Buster Desktop
32 bit.

Updated and installed squeezelite Alsa via the package manager

Edited the config file:

Code:

# Defaults for squeezelite initscript
  # sourced by /etc/init.d/squeezelite
  # installed at /etc/default/squeezelite by the maintainer scripts

  # The name for the squeezelite player:
  SL_NAME="$(hostname -s)"

  # ALSA output device:
  SL_SOUNDCARD="sysdefault:CARD=Headphones"

  # Squeezebox server (Logitech Media Server):
  # Uncomment the next line if you want to point squeezelite at the IP address
of
  # your squeezebox server. This is usually unnecessary as the server is
  # automatically discovered.
  #SB_SERVER_IP="192.168.x.y"

  # Additional options to pass to squeezelite:
  # Please do not include -z to make squeezelite daemonise itself.
  SB_EXTRA_ARGS="-r 44100 -a :::0"

Plays fine, updated (whilst listening) with

Code:

sudo /etc/init.d/squeezelite stop
  wget -O squeezelite.tgz
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/squeezelite/linux/squeezelite-1.9.9.1386-armhf.tar.gz
  sudo tar -C /usr/bin -zxvf squeezelite.tgz
  sudo chmod a+x /usr/bin/squeezelite
  sudo /etc/init.d/squeezelite start

which I pasted in a block, music continues, all is good :)

I would suggest you do the same and make a back up as soon as possible
:o:p

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse, Config for Genre - Albums

2021-06-14 Thread MikeDC

TEN years ago, I used Custom Browse to replace the Sb Genre option so
that ALBUMS were displayed instead of ARTISTS for any selected Genre.
The display was just like Album browse option showing album art, album
title, and album artist, sorted by album title.

My server has now crashed and I cannot recall how to do this at all.
I've re-read the Wiki, but this has always been a very confusing plug-in
for me to use and I'm just not as smart as I was 10 years ago. Can
anyone help me out with the steps?

Thanks!

Ah! Perhaps I should just change the default to 30seconds? Stange your

As you noted 'don't repeat album' does not apply to 'Various Artists' -
my thinking was they are already a mix of similar tracks, so no harm if
they play one after another. I just did not want repeated tracks by the
same artist - which Musly seems to produce very often.
