Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
after the update I've experienced the songs played from spotify were LOUD and Distorted. (I updated last night and was wide awake after that :)) I had LMS convert the stream to flac because I experienced this was the only way to have the levels the same when playing playlists with very different songs. when I turned ogg on the sound was normal. Did anything changed in the way Spotty processes the replaygain data? which log should i enable to see what is happening? cheers dennis cortegedusage's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69028 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114726 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
I'm also having weird things going on after latest Spotty update.. My other half has reported that when using connect with squeezelite on libreelec, tv switches itself on and stops Spotify playback.. Apparently Only turning tv off resumes playback.. [emoji23] You can only use Spotify Connect on a single device. If you're using it with Spotty, the TV (or whatever other speaker) will turn off. That's always been Spotify's behaviour. If you have multiple accounts in Spotty and your own client ID, then you have to go to the Spotify Dashboard and add your users to that client ID ("Users and Access"). ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
I have multiple accounts, 4, I deleted the one I use and added it successfully again. Paid service. I have a client ID registered. It shows correct on Spotify’s app page. I created another app and copied that client ID as well, no difference. Did you register your accounts with the client ID? That's something new Spotify introduced a while back. You have to go to the client ID configuration and click "Users and Access" (next to the Logout button). ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
Even without logging on Spotty seems slow. It takes 5 seconds to view the tracks in an album. Was it this slow before? Pi4 server. No problem here, really. And trust me: 4.5.0 has been downloaded and installed a few thousand times. And I've had about a hand full of negative feedback. I'm pretty sure there is a problem in your and castalla's environment. And we have to figure out what it is. You could eg. try to install LMS and Spotty on a totally different system. Your desktop. Do you see the same behaviour? It's also easier to drop the old version in a Plugins folder on a desktop to compare. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
I am actually finding using Spotify Connect is much more responsive than using Spotty on LMS at the moment. That can't be right. It can: the native app likely doesn't use the same APIs as the public web API. They've always had features which are not exposed publicly. So if there's a problem in the infrastructure we're using (or in the communication channel between your system and those servers), then the native app would behave differently. Or if something about LMS was wrong (eg. problems writing to the cache) then you wouldn't see this in the Spotify app. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I wanted to try going back to 4.4.9 so installed it manually. Then I got the red message about the helper. Going back to 4.5 fixed it but it is so slow. I wanted to compare it it to 4.4.9 as I don't remember that being slow. There's no browsing related change in 4.5.0. The only code change really is support for auto play in Connect mode. I've been using this code for about a month before releasing it: https://github.com/michaelherger/Spotty-Plugin/compare/72416d7597d4230be99d9e71f78b6efb81f5f503...af4bea94b932a7bbe4a77757634ec1743334728f As you had enabled logging, did you see where it spent most of the time? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
Does that mean there's a good chance 32bit windows is now not going to be supported for this plugin in the future? The plugin could still work using the old version of the helper. But you'd miss some of the improvements. Feel free to download it from https://github.com/michaelherger/Spotty-Plugin/raw/7d20b0ce6e8f6bca13b44e670bbe18fc6cb84e08/Bin/MSWin32-x86-multi-thread/spotty.exe Then rename it to spotty-custom.exe and put it somewhere in your search path (see the list of folders for helper applications in Settings/Information). I'd recommend you use a folder outside LMS or its cache folder. It then will survive plugin updates. I'll see whether I can get 32 bit builds again. But I'm not too optimistic about that. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm running Windows 10 on an old netbook that says its an X86 based PC which is 32bit windows I believe. The Spotty plugin page says a red warning There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. Please make sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime (32-bit!) installed on your system. Ouch... I forgot about this... yes, the new build is 64 bits. I haven't managed to build a 32 bit version on the 64 bit Windows I have. I'll probably have to provide access to those "legacy" builds :-(. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

May well work better with a more modern player but I didn't check to see where the buffering problem was. I think the init.d script was created before systemctl was added as default. I'm not familiar with systemctl. systemctl says it is executing the init.d script but now squeezelite doesn't start. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
expectingtofly wrote: > If the BBC stream their video content in DASH format (like the audio) > then it is probably possible (the youtube plugin extracts audio streams > from dash video/audio) A bit OT. Freeview and Freesat provide TV services using MPEG2-TS encoding which can be converted into HLS stream without transcoding. Some dubious IPTV services offer BBC TV HLS streams - they have never worked for me. Official HLS TV streams have played OK for me on LMS. The home brew approach would be to have your own satellite box which provide the IPTV streams on your own network. The TVHeadend plugin (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?110619-ANNOUNCE-TVH-Plugin-TVHeadend-integration ) provides some facility for radio - I think it is may be possible for TV and you may get EPG. It may be a bit of work and expense if you don't have Freesat and an appropriate box. Even more of a project would be to use Freeview broadcast (DVB-T) to provide the TV feeds and a USB DVB-S/T dongle attached to LMS server to tune etc. The hard work is to make it easy to use. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If the BBC stream their video content in DASH format (like the audio) then it is probably possible (the youtube plugin extracts audio streams from dash video/audio). The problem would be how to present the content, I wouldn't have thought that there is an api that is as accessible as the "Radio and Music Services" API that drives BBC sounds. It could probably be done with screen scraping. So all in all, if someone has the will driven by seeing the use case as convincing enough, then it probably could be achieved. It's probably a lot of effort though for a limited amount of viable content. That could be a temporary networking problem but it might be a more fundamental problem with https support in your setup. Probably best to start a new thread and include system info from LMS Settings/Information page ... in particular the OS and SSL info. Thank you for your suggestions, Paul but, having checked the regular LMS web interface, I find the problem remains. So unlikely to be an iPeng issue - as you write. However, I notice that at the top of the 'plugins' tab in the web interface, the following error: "Bad repository https://github.com/LMS-Community/lms-plugin-repository/raw/master/extensions.xml - Connect timed out:" Unfortunately totally incomprehensible to me so any clarification would be most welcome as this seems the likely cause of my problem. fmanchu's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33960 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
4.5 mostly solves a long standing issue I had using Spotify Connect from iPhone. Still daemons become restarted but this should no longer cause issues in practical usage. What I experience now: - Choosing SB Radio as Spotify Connect target: Works - Choosing iPhone as Spotify Connect target: Works At this point of time the daemon of the SB Radio becomes restarted "Plugins::Spotty::Connect:: DaemonManager::checkAPIConnectPlayers (208) Connect daemon is running, but not connected - shutting down to force restart: 00:04:20:2d:ee:c3 Squeezebox Office" - Choosing SB Radio as Spotify Connect target: Works if the daemon already finished restarting As most people are not constantly switching between iPhone and SB Radio this should not cause an issue. Before 4.5 the daemon restarted at the time an SB Radio was chosen as a target which resulted in silence. If the daemon restart could be prevented completely and maybe only the connection between the daemon and Spotify could be reestablished it would be even better. But as I said: In practical terms the current behavior is completely fine. Thanks a lot Michael!
