Beta 0.0.31f - 2022/01/02 Quick hack to put Bayern1 and Bayern2 in ... I need to come up with a better way to do it behind the scenes before a real release - but the output should remain the same. Also now getting Live stream rebuffering / recovery with v2.0.2 Happens c.30 seconds after the start of most streams (a few seconds after the transition to Track metadata) and infrequently after that. Tried both Standard and Long buffer settings with no obvious difference. TBH I'm not 100% certain that I wasn't getting some rebuffering on 2.0.0 as I didn't run the Live streams for very long, but not the regular +30 dropout. I've made 0.0.31e available for download again - but with only BR Klassik from BR for now. If you downloaded an earlier build of 31e then don't bother reporting that the other BR stations do not show data. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Beta 0.0.31e - 2022/01/02 - Start adding Bayerischen Rundfunk (DE) - Bayern1 and BR-Klassik - title, artist, duration and coversearch (not Klassik) plus programme title, subtitle, duration and cover Had a request by email for BR-Klassik. I managed to get it working and then had a look at the other stations in the group ( https://br.de ) and they use a different setup for their metadata ... so just done a quick implementation for Bayern1 as a test. For BR Klassik ... there is no track artwork because they do not provide any and doing lookups on classical material with the data provided is too inaccurate. I could provide the programme image as the track artwork ... let me know (here) if you would prefer that for this station only (and don't ask for it to be configurable). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify: authentication with Spotty failure
1. entering Client ID from developer.spotify.com Yes! But not as the username, but in the appropriate field at the bottom of the settings page. 2. entering Spotify password assigned to my e-mail or client secret assigned to Client ID? (tried both) Authentication requires your Spotify username and password, NOT the client ID/secret. But you should also be able to just fire up a Spotify client on your phone to authenticate. 3. should "Enable Spotify Connect endpoint for this player " setting be on or off? I think you wouldn't even see this unless you were signed in already? It doesn't matter for authentication. 4. "Use fallback access point: - where is this setting? Again: you'll probably only see this once you're signed in. It's towards the bottom of the Spotty settings page. Ah yes, I can see why that works when looked at that point of view. I agree, the meta data fields are really built for individual tracks and streaming radio is very much up to individual interpretation and the context being used. I do use your iPlayer plugin - but almost exclusively for BBC R4 so very few programmes with real tracks so I expect I did not notice. I do it a different way in my plugins. I put the aritst/title/cover/duration information in the matching LMS fields for a track and then switch to the programme info when a track finishes (typically around 30 seconds after) ... assuming timing details are known. However, my plugins cannot rewind etc. I think I suggested long ago that an LMS update to handle programme fields as attributes in a similar way to artist ones (including with a slimproto extension) would be great because then players, and Jivelite in particular, could be updated to have them as discrete displayable fields. Since Jivelite has plenty of space for extra text it would mean that the programme details could always be visible (and user could potentially choose to show it or not). For displays that LMS controls - then the fields could be available like they are now - so the user could choose the layout of what is sent. I may have to increase the buffer time, which would be a shame, I don't won't to push it further from live than it already is. Interesting. It is working the same as all my plugins. i.e. The title of the radio programme being listened to is the meta data taking precedence and is the main meta data being provided. (Title = Radio Programme title eg, Artist = further programme/station information ). It's a bit more complex on BBC sounds, but the same principle. Then, when a track plays, l temporarily populate the "[title] by [artist]" plus track image if available. I find that works best for hardware radio displays which is my main use case.
