Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Gathering requirements for new DSP plugin - please be realistic!
Hi! Ive had a go recently with CamillaDSP. It seems like a really powerful piece of software. I stopped using it mainly because I couldnt configure it to keep my different radios synced... which was a major downside for me. Also, during my quest for sound correction/room correction, I have found multiple ways to do it, along with ressources for code that could be borrowed ! I hope it can help! IMHO The best implementation could be one that mixes the different solutions, a mix of server side / client, depending on the capabilities of the clients. Server side: Inguz BruteFIR C3PO (only certain file types..) CamillaDSP as you propose Player side: With a hardware DSP (ie hifiberrys DSP card) AlsaEqual (which can be configured as a parametric EQ - hifiberryoS has a beautiful UI for adjusting EQ - software DSP is possible but disabled by default https://github.com/hifiberry/hifiberry-os/blob/master/doc/alsa-eq.md) It was tested by a forum member in PcP https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112318-PCP-Parametric-EQ-using-ladspa_dsp SoX - it was discussed that SoX could be used as a parametric EQ, there is even pcp-sox.tcz available on PcP -although I wouldnt know what to do to integrate it with squeezelite. It seems like some rewriting of squeezelite would be necessary as Squeezelite uses SoXr to resample. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114824-Digital-Room-Correction-and-Bass-Artefacts/page3 CamillaDSP in an audio loop- it looses sync with other players. CamillaDSPs strength are undeniable: adaptative loudness would be very interesting, upsampling, dithering, remote configuration and the possibility to mix different outputs: high pass through the sound card to the speakers, low pass to the sub through earphone jack... it will bring LogitechMedia Server to a whole new level. Especially if we can modify the settings with hardware controls. Using a Pi is surely a great way to make sure the device will still be up to date in the future, as its open hardware and the software is easily upgradable. Bryston garanties its analog devices for 20years. They stand by their products and the only way to guarantee that is to make the software part upgradeable! Nice move, I hope to see more companies developing their products as a products, not renewables. [SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS-to-UPnP with PlayFI devices
Hi! has anyone got any luck connecting a PlayFi device with the UPNP bridge? DTS recently enabled DigitalMediaRenderer with version 5.2. I know, Ive tried everything. It never increases the volume progressively, 1% is already very high volume. Using mapping -90:0,-45:50,0:100 does not even solve it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Group Players
Hi guys, Ive found a little bug with grouped players, at least in my config. Im running the BruteFIR plugin to manage loudness controls on one of my player. It generates a custom-convert.conf file from a template file with the settings for my Squeezelite player. If I start playback on that player, Sox is enabled and it provides me with proper loudness. Synching another player with it keeps the loudness . However, If I start another player and then I add my loudness-enabled player, then Sox will never run, resulting in no loudness. Starting playback on a group of players triggers the latter... Ill try to manually copy my rules in the base custom-config.conf file in case the other one is second in priority thus ignored. It is just a guess but Ill try anyways. I did not see anything in the logs, even though Ive changed the verbose mode. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.6.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Hi Michael! I just found a little bug here. When adding a synced squeezelite player during playback, squeezebox will continue playing the song but will detach from Spotify connect. The cached song will be played until the end then it will stop the playback since the lms playlist is empty. This seems to happen because the name of the output changes inside Spotify to list the linked players. Could it be that changing the name actually creates a new device thus disconnecting playback? This happens with latest lms, under latest max2play, with latest plugin, with ipeng, lms classic and material interface. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite -G GPIO misbehaving
Ok nailed it. At the end of the text box, which I could not see on my iPad, was the -C 5 flag, which was suppose to release the output after 5 seconds to allow shairport-sync to use ALSA. In the end, it really is a bug since the -C command should not trigger the amp power off, only the disconnection to ALSA. [emoji41][emoji851][emoji1] Thanks a lot for your help, your input really helped to see the problem under a new angle!! Have a great evening! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite -G GPIO misbehaving
Ok! I'm driving a power switch tail II with my pi 3B+ It should work decently... Maybe it's my firmware, I've updated everything. I'll test it tonight. Otherwise which kernel version are you running? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite -G GPIO misbehaving
Hi! I'm trying to activate a relay to turn on my amplifier with the -g option for squeezelite. So far, I only had erratic behaviors. Playing,Pausing a song, and fast forwarding/rewinding a song will trigger the relay. It seems like it's responding to playback status rather than power status. Anyone has an idea on how I could achieve that feature without this bug? Maybe I could use the -S option. Anyone wiling to share their power on and power off scripts ? Thank you! I have been having similar issues but with iPeng. It sometimes doesn't update the "now playing" album art, artist and track name.
