Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Hiya, I currently run PiCorePlayer and Jivelite on my Raspberry Pi w 7" touch screen. I additionally have an IR receiver attached to GPIO so that it can be controlled by a squeezebox IR remote. I use it to control a Squeezebox Receiver, while also giving it a good looking "Now Playing" screen. However, Jivelite doesn't show a clock on the Now Playing screen, and can't be (easily) customised to do so. So I have the clock screensaver currently enabled, which is great as a clock, but not so great when I want to see what song is playing. So I'm thinking of playing around with running the Material Skin instead. I think it's better visually, too. However, I was wondering two things: 1) would it work with a Squeezebox remote control? What would i need to install to get it to work with my GPIO IR receiver? Or would a Flirc USB device be easier to set up? 2) does anyone know of either a pre-rolled free distro that supports a 'web kiosk' mode for the Raspberry Pi? Basically I want it to work like PiCorePlayer where everything runs from a RAM Disk so that power can be cut without risk of data loss/corruption. I found this one: https://www.binaryemotions.com/digital-signage/raspberry-digital-signage/ but it's 17.90 and I couldn't get the free version to find my WiFi network, plus it doesn't seem to support installing extras - so no IR. Does anyone know of anything similar? Alternatively, is there a way to turn Raspbian into a RAM-only distro, but with a method to write changes to disk (such as the cookies once Material is set up). I know in PiCorePlayer + Jivelite there is a setting to "write settings to SD card" so that next time you boot they are saved, but if I'm hacking Raspbian to run from a ramdisk, then I wouldn't think a 'write to sd' option would exist, right? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)
I just can't get this plugin to return any video results - either my subscriptions or searches. I can see in my Google Dev console that that the APIs are getting 'hit' but that they are returning 100% error rates. I've deleted projects and re-created APIs and OAuth tokens twice now. I was thinking that it was one tag that represented the today and the forecast. It probably would have been wise to check before I went and posted about it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I'd like the date displayed, but don't really have the real estate on my SB3 to fit it in. Is there any chance the forecast description can be modified to contain it? ie, rather than saying Today: Thunderstorms have it say Today, 15 Dec: Thunderstorms ? Cheers. And thanks for the info on alignment. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Is there any way to get the clock right-aligned? I have it on line 2, with current temp/humidity. I want the time to sit on the right hand side, with the temps effectively sitting in the middle of the screen (just to the right of the 3 line/icon section). The only solution I currently have is to insert a whole heap of spaces after the temp readings, which is fiddly and inelegant to say the least. Any ideas or tips? -- JadeMonkee 2x squeezebox classics {1x wired, 1x wifi} | squeezecentre v7.2.1 | 'readynas duo' (http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=22) { raidiator 4.14 | 1gb hynix hymd512m646cfp8-j | 2x 1tb samsung hd103uj } | d-link dir-655 JadeMonkee's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20481 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
