Rock Mix FLAC (http://stream.radioparadise.com/rock-flac)
Eclectic Mix FLAC (http://stream.radioparadise.com/eclectic-flac)

Hi Philip,

It seems that with plugin v1.82.2 playback of Radio Paradise is
interrupted (again) every now and then.
Did you perform some code cleanup perhaps?

Manual? Which manual?
You mean "Player volume management" under settings? It was set to 100,
now it's set to 256. I'll give it a try.

Don't know exactly what you mean by speaker?
If you refer to my AMP as playback device then it allows for a range of
-97,5 dB ~ +30 dB (as shown by the volume indicator)
Can't download Device Spy, because of a 404 error from author's site

Here's a shorter log. I did the following (did not touch anything):

- Cleared the previous log
- Started LMS via firefox
- Player woke up and LMS started playing first song (Emmylou Harris) at
volume -48 dB
- Second song started (Counting Crows) still at volume -48 dB
- During this song the volume jumped to -49,5 dB (i did not do a thing)
- Ended the logging and here it is

Hi,

After playing RP a while my volume control makes a jump of -1,5 dB. It
ain't much and it's hardly hearable, it's just strange. Every time i set
my volume control to -40, -50, -60 dB or whatever level, after each new
block it jumps to -41,5, -51,5, -61,5 dB resp. and stays there. It
happened in previous plugin versions, yet it happens consistently now.
It only seems to happens when playing RP.

Any ideas?

2021-07-02 Thread Kees

Hi,

Don't know if this item came along in earlier threads. I can't find any
via search.

I run LMS with the latest UPnP/DLNA bridge via Docker on a Syno DS918+
to stream to my Devialet.

It handles my music collection and regular lossy radio stations very
well, except for the Radio Paradise flac stream.

It is often interrupted and stops playing at the end of an announcement
or music block, but not always.
Sometimes it plays for hours without any issues and sometimes it just
stops every 20 minutes or so.
I then have to manually stop and restart to get LMS playing again.
I remember having this issue before and recall it had something to do
with the way Radio Paradise delivers its flac stream.
Yet it worked fine with some 1.4 plugin versions.

Do you know of any workaround?

Hmm, I guess your right.

It's just that i was happy with way thing were with a DS412+ running
LMS, but then came this famous Perl update which broke my
configuration.
After a lot of searching i ended up upgrading my NAS to a DS918+ which
runs docker i.c.w. LMS and it suits me well for the stuff i'm doing
(audio serving a huge music collection and off course Radio Paradise).

For me, i'd like to stay with this configuration as long as possible.
Being around in "computer land" for quite some time, i see this urge to
renew and jam more and more features in firmwares, being it a NAS,
router or OS's. Often at the cost of stability, power consumption and
understandability.

Anyways, thanks for your insight. I very much appreciate your work and
efforts.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2019-04-04 Thread Kees

Hi Guys,

I'm totally happy with the new RP and UpnP plugins, but encounter
another minor thing.

When streaming RP and heavy downloading via my router takes place at the
same time, RP streaming starts to stutter where other "lossy" streaming
stations continue to play without the stuttering.

I understand that lossless streaming takes up more bandwith than lossy
does, but was wondering if this might be a buffering thing.

Has anyone found a workaround? I just hate to implement Qos just for the
sake of this.

Regards Kees

I don't know, but was hoping that Philipe's idea about the handling of
short tracks would hold the solution.

First results were due to wishful thinking on behalf of me

Sorry to say that after every 20~30 minutes of playing (some 6 to 8
songs) my player stops playing after Bill's message at the end of a
track.

That would be great :o
Otherwise please point me out where exactly to find this "flow" mode?
Can't find it...

LMS is running on my Syno DS412+ NAS. I 've mentioned this in my first
post.

Hmmm confusing
To me it seems like Squeezer is controlling LMS, which in return sends
it feedback to Squeezer.
They seem to (inter)act the same way (when one is stopped, the other one
is. When one is paused, the other one is, when one selects a different
station, the other one does. vice versa).

Yes it does, but it plays to my PC and can't stream to my AMP.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2019-03-13 Thread Kees

PC is wired and as a matter of fact, i've changed ISP last week, alas
with the same issues. If my wifi should be flaky how come the AAC stream
and other stations as well as my NAS play all day long without a
glitch.

As Squeezer is just a controller (which controls LMS), it pins things
down to LMS imo. But i won't rule out my network and will dig deeper
into that. More ideas and suggestions are appreciated

TIA Kees

Thanks for your reply. you've giving me a clear hint. Here are my
findings.

Tried Squeezeplay (playing to my PC) side by side with LMS via Chrome
(playing to my Amp).
Squeezeplayer keeps on playing whereas LMS stops after most every block.
Streaming also stops after almost every block using Squeezer on my
android TAB. Those two seem to (inter)act in the same way.

I can't however get Squeezeplay to stream to my Amp, nor can ik get LMS
to play to my PC, or Squeezer to play to my TAB.

It looks like there's some "wake-up call" or synchronisation missing,
when playing to my Amp.

Regards Kees
