[SlimDevices: Plugins] Current Squeezelite Player v1.9.7-1218 with LMS under Ubuntu
Hi to all, a question regarding squeezelite player in general under Ubuntu. There is an option ' -b : Specify internal Stream and Output buffer sizes in Kbytes' to adjust the buffersizes of stream and output buffer. Has anybody experiences which buffersize fits best? I am using the Logitech Media Server and Squeezelite player with Ubuntu and my media PC has 8 GB of RAM, so I think there is enough memory to increase the buffer sizes. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite player and Ubuntu
I updated my mediaserver to Ubuntu Focal 20.04 and during the update the former squeezelite player 1.9.7.1218 was renamed and the "original" Ubuntu squeezelite player v1.8 was installed. After upgrading and rebooting the server I recognized, that the squeezelite player service is running with disconnected USB-DAC. After switching on the DAC everything works perfectly. This behavior is completly different as of version 1.9.7.1218 and older. After installing version 1.9.7.1218, switching off the DAC and reboot the server, the service is not running. Therefore I wrote a script, which checks if the DAC is connected and if yes, restarts the squeezelite service. I add this script to the crontab and that works fine. My question is, why this different behavior between the "native" squeezelite player which comes with Ubuntu and the current version? I am using the current Samsung Galaxy S6 Tab with Android 10. When I use SC and scroll down the cover list or look at the playlist or other activities, than after a while SC looses the network connection (message: error fetching covers - network error - reconnect), but my WLAN connection is stable and I have full connection to the internet, to the LMS via firefox and other services. I have to end the app and wait one or two minutes, restart the app and everything works fine. After a while the same error occurs. This is a new behaviour for me and occurs since I am using Android 10 with the Galaxy. Before I had a Galaxy S2 with Android 7 and this worked. Are there any experiences with this behaviour? Hi to all, I'm using Squeezelite Player on Windows 10 and there is a problem with displaying the right time of a title. I configured the delay option in conjunction with the samplerate (-r [:]) and when playing songs with different samplerates, the timeslider in my Android app (Squeeze Ctrl) shows the wrong current title time with the timeslider. For instance sometimes the timeslider hangs and after 30 seconds the slider shows the right current time of the song. This does only appears when the squeezelite player inserts a short delay of samplerate switching (is necessary due to my DAC). The developer of the Squeeze Ctrl app, debugs this problem and told me that the squeezelite player sends a wrong time during the delay and after 30 seconds the player sends the right time. Does anybody has a similar problem? Hi to all! I have a question regarding squeezelite latest version on Windows 8.1 (64-bit). I am using a T+A DAC8 with the latest USB-driver and LMS 7.8 with Squeezelite. I tested several options of Squeezelite but my DAC doesn't switch the samplingrate (always fixed to 192 kHz). Before I tested Windows, I used Daphile which is linux based but linux doesn't fully support the TENOR 8802L USB receiver in my DAC, therefore I switched to Windows 8.1. Is there anybody who can give me some hints? Hi to all, a question regarding the buffer size parameters (stream- and output-buffer)for Squeezelite. Are there any best practices values for the buffer size in conjunction with "smoother playing" or playback quality? I read a few reports from HiFi magazines and they mentioned that is good for playback quality when the FLACs are streamed from memory instead of network or harddisk. Anybody who has tested it?
