Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)

2022-02-15 Thread Kyle

I apologize for being a bit lazy and not reading through the last 200
pages, but Im wondering if there is any way to make LMS play nice
with the new Russound app? I may have to replace my Russound amp and am
looking at one that utilizes the Russound app. In my current setup, I
use LMS on my iMac, triggered to power up when I power on any of the six
zones on the Russound system. Russound says LMS is not supported by
their app, but Im wondering if anyone here has configured a
workaround?

5/10/06 release) and now I can't get it just to display the
time/temp/wind all the time. It keeps scrolling the weather. What
settings do I need to change?

playing, but it's probably not that bad since the VFD display, optical

The bug doesn't appear to be impacting that many people so I wouldn't
hold your breath that it'll get fixed in 7.0. :(

 -Greg

If I leave it always on, then I've got songs scrolling by on my display
all the time. I know, I could change the setting for Now Playing, but
then I'm fooling with changing things all the time, which I'm trying to
avoid (WAF). Since right now 6.3 gives me about everything I need, it's
acceptible. If that changes, I'll have to figure something else out.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2007-04-20 Thread Kyle

Greg, I downloaded 4.06 and it seems to work fine. The reason I need to
stick with 6.3 is because of my Russound whole-house audio system. The
SB3 is configured to power up when the system is activated, so that if
I punch a button in the bedroom, the system comes on in there, the SB3
powers up and logs on, and music begins playing. With 6.5, the SB was
stopped when it logged on, so that I had to go to the den (where the SB
is located) or the computer to actually have music begin playing.
Hopefully, 7.0 will have this matter sorted out.

As for the tides, I really need them at the beach, where I am currently
using 6.5 (no whole-house system there) and can update to 7.0 when it's
released.

The Russound will relay IR signals through any of its control panels,
but you can't program it to send a signal on power-on or anything like
that. I'm trusting all will be fixed in 7.0. Thanks for the work on
the tides. I'll keep an eye out for any new sites that might come
along.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2007-04-19 Thread Kyle

Greg, what I would be looking for would be the tide data from Lockwoods
Folly Inlet (about halfway down the page). Something like this:

High: 4.5 ft., 9:41 am
Low: -0.8 ft., 3:56 pm
High: 5.5 ft., 10:01 pm
Low: -0.5 ft., 4:51 am

I have found NOAA pages that provide data for several days, a month or
a year, but this is the only page I have been able to find that just
gives data for the next 24 hours, which is all I need.
As for the SS version, I have had to keep 6.3 on my server at home
because 6.5 has a flaw in that it forgets the player when my audio
system powers down. 6.3 doesn't do this, so that when I power on it
begins playing the previous playlist. This has been reported as a bug
and may be fixed in 7.0, but for now I'm stuck with 6.3. I did not
download the 7.0-specific version, but is there any reason the current
version would crash 6.3?

Greg, I found the original NWS page with the data:
http://www.erh.noaa.gov/ilm/beach/

I haven't found a listing of tides by zip code; however, there may be a
way to put in a station number and get tides for that station. If the
program could look through a table and find tides for the current day,
then there are several places where that could be found. Here is one
for you to look at:
http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/get_predictions.shtml?year=2007stn=1070+Myrtle+Beachsecstn=Lockwoods+Folly+Inletthh=%2b0thm=4tlh=%2b0tlm=15hh=*0.84hl=*1.00footnote=

Here's my bug: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4759. The
player isn't actually forgotten -- it will reconnect when it powers up
-- it just doesn't come back playing, it's always stopped. The bug is
a request that SS remember the player was playing when it lost power
and to resume playing when it comes back.

As always, thanks for your help.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Small-footprint popup for art and song info

2007-03-27 Thread Kyle

For my office system, I play flac files through my laptop. I started
using Slimserver, Softsqueeze and Moose for its excellent Toast popup.
This approach was extremely taxing on system resources. I discovered a
very small player to handle flac files, MusikCube (~3,500k), and a
popup for song info, CD Art Display (~7,800K), which is highly
configurable, skinnable, and also features song ratings. It is free
and can be seen at: http://www.closetosoftware.com/?s=cdartdisplay.
Unfortunately, it is not currently compatible with Softsqueeze, but the
developer seems very cooperative. If you are looking for a song info
popup, which also includes album art, I urge you to visit the site and
request Slimserver support. If you use Winamp, Foobar, Media Monkey,
iTunes or some other players, you can use the tool already.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the product; I'd just like to
see it support Slimserver.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Slimserver version for IR Blaster?

2006-02-28 Thread Kyle

fcm4711 Wrote:
 Hi Kyle

For IR Blaster you'll need FW = 23 which was included with 6.2.1 (if I
am not mistaken). But if you want to use IR Learning and IR Repeater
you'll need at least FW = 29 which is only available through nightlies
 at the moment.

A single-channel emitter should work fine.

 Cheers
 Felix
I upgraded the firmware to 29, but the repeater is not working. Do I
need to upgrade Slimserver from 6.2.1 to one of the nightlies? I've
never used a nightly release. How difficult is that to install? Will
my prefs and plugins remain?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: pfarrell's MusicUtil

2006-02-27 Thread Kyle

I never got it working because Amazon changed their login system, so the
code is outdated. I corresponded with Pat about it, and he said he
would probably eventually change it, but I don't know if he has or not.
I manually downloaded art with TagRename, which took awhile, but it's
done.

 Hi Nick

Please open the Plugin.pm file with an editor and find the following
line in the 'Global variables' section:

my $gFixedVolume = 50;# Volume set (in SB2/3) if volup or voldown is
 used (max is 100)

Change the default value to your liking.

 You need to restart SlimServer.

 Cheers
 Felix

If I'm understanding what I've read about IR blaster correctly, if you
set a blaster function for the volume keys, it will lock the SB volume.
Is the default 50% of full volume, and changing the 50 to 100 will mean
the SB volume is locked at 100% (40 on the display)?

I always keep my display on the largest font, and I also think that

What you did with JPG extension should only affect the display of files
in windows Explorer and Windows common dialog boxes - AFAIK it shouldn't
do anything else so perhaps the app is somehow parsing the display and
 needs the JPG extension.

All I know is that I messed with artwork for many, many hours, and
changing that setting finally allowed Slimserver to recognize my art
files. I even tried manually naming the files cover.jpg, but that
didn't work. I had to remove the .jpg and change the setting to get
the files to load. I will say that MusicMagic didn't require the
change, but Slimserver (and Moose) did.

Kyle - That's not using my new socketwrapper.exe. I would expect to see
SW: Ian's Experimental socketwrapper 0.1 in your log if it was. Can
you check you extracted the file to the
server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread directory ? (after renaming the
 one that's in there already)

I replaced the one that was in there. Do I keep them both in the
folder? What do I name the first one, socketwrapper1 or something?
