Excellent, thank you.

I didn't get that information from reading the AndroidPit site.

Now playing ... :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Android phones/tablets .. Squidget and Squeeze Player

2012-01-08 Thread Mick Seymour

I'm using Squeeze Comander already and find it really good.

I would love to try Squeezeplay but my Archos 101 internet tablet
appears to have its own Apps store and when I try the Google Android
store I'm told there's no phone associated with the account. What
phone? Its a tablet.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

All you need for control, I agree.

I was given a new pair of cans for Christmas and it would be great if I
could play my SBS music on the tablet with them plugged in: 'Squeeze
Headphone' then becomes a reality :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Android phones/tablets .. Squidget and Squeeze Player

2012-01-08 Thread Mick Seymour

Ah well. The Archos FAQ for my tablet says:

Can I download apps from the Android Market? How?

No. However if .apk files are available on the Internet from the maker
of one of the applications found on the Android Market, then there is
no reason you could not download it from their site and use it (so long
as it does not require a piece of hardware that the ARCHOS does not
have. Ex : compass, telephone, GPS).

Guess that idea is out the window then.

Thanks for the reply.

I looked at AndroidPit. It looks like it gives me a code I can then use
on the Android Market but the Android Market won't let me download as it
doesn't recognise the device (although it lists it as supported!).

I do have a SlideMe account which is where I got SqueezeCommander from.

Same here. As I'm not listening to the source via the server's speakers
at the same time as I'm listening through my SB3 the delay doesn't
matter.

What is SC running on. The laptop or a different, non wireless server?

When playing anything else on the duet the speed is 270 Mbps.

Does this include streamed music from SC or only SN feeds?

What do you have set within SqueezeCenter as the WaveInput device? It
will be something like wavin:default or wavin:hw:0.

It took me ages to get it right under RHEL and was mostly done by trial
and error.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2009-05-09 Thread Mick Seymour

More info gives me a 404 error to.

You need to create a Favourite called whatever you like. Mine is called
'Line In'. In the URL you enter wavin: followed by the hardware id of
the capture channel on your sound card. To play whatever is coming into
your PC via the line-in of the sound card, you play that favourite.

Mine is set to wavin:hw:0,0,0. The alluded to standard of wavin:default
didn't work with my card so I had to learn more about my UNIX ALSA sound
drivers than I ever wanted to :-0

I'm sorry but I can't help with what it might be under Windows for your
sound card. As I said, I set mine up by trial and error whilst reading
the posts in the forum.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2009-02-25 Thread Mick Seymour

The only way I've done it is take the speaker out from my PC and plug it
into the line in on my Linux server that runs SC.

You -could- run an SC installation on the laptop with nothing but the
wave input plugin and attach the SB to that installation when you want
to. If the laptop AND SB are both wireless, you may get problems
though. One wireless hop is the recommended way.

You could plug a cable into the headphone out to defeat the speakers. It
doesn't need to have headphones attached. I'd cut the plug off and old
pair or pick up one from a local store.
