Clearly I need stronger coffee! The first two Music Mixes that I tried
worked happily, so I assumed that all would play outside of the UK. I
just tried the errant example from my laptop and it says 'not available
outside of UK', however others do work, so it's hit and miss.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin

2021-08-12 Thread Sb42

I'm trying to play from \BBC SOUNDS\MUSIC\MUSIC MIXES and while the
server shows the item playing, I get no sound from either of my
Squeezeboxen. Live BBC works happily, as does play it again from the
Station Schedule Items.

I'm running LMS v8.1.2 and BBC Sounds 12.19.0 and am outside of the UK
and not using an VPN proxy software

I'm able to play these programs from the BBC website or within the
official BBC Sounds app.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

BPA, you'll never know how much your plugin has meant to me over the
years and especially this year. While the license fee grumblers will
complain, the calm, non-commercial nature of the BBC has provided me
with solace, joy, tears, and love especially in 2020.

20 years ago I was gently admonished by an audiophile for both wanting a
Squeezebox and for listening to the BBC while outside of the UK. I've
always recounted that story with good humour, but today i feel
vindicated.

Thank you again!

- ps. At the risk of sounding churlish, will you be doing any future
development on the plugin, or shold I now uninstall it?

It is connected to the Local Server, I just double-checked. Then I
thought of the cure-all for odd problems, and rebooted the Radio. Hey
presto! Your life-saving App appeared and is working.

Hmm...I'm seeing an entry in My Apps for BBC which is a monochrome BBC
logo, it seems to only provide Live Channels. On my Squeezebox Classics
I get a entry of BBC Sounds and sub-menu items for Search etc.

Still can't find it on the Radio.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2018-11-02 Thread Sb42

The WU API has been around since 2010 to help you develop apps and
websites as well as manage your Personal Weather Station data. During
that time, we’ve watched you build amazing products and visualize
weather data with creativity and purpose.

Over the years, our infrastructure has been unable to keep up with the
growing numbers of users coming to us for API data. This has led to
higher costs as we worked to keep the service stable and dependable.
Eventually, we realized we’d need to make drastic changes or risk
serious problems for our API.

As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to retire the Weather
Underground API. The Weather Company, which acquired WU back in 2012,
offers a powerful suite of enterprise-grade APIs that might be better
suited to meet your scale and performance needs while offering a broader
range of weather data. You can see these products here .

Here’s what you need to know going forward:
Your subscriptions, and therefore access, will continue to work through
12/31/2018 .
If you are a paying WU API customer , you will receive a call from a
representative from The Weather Company, and IBM business, to discuss
transition options to other API services. If you’d like to have these
conversations sooner, contact us .
If you are a Personal Weather Station owner , you will receive more
information about our plan to offer free access to the data you provide
to Weather Underground. We’ll reach out once that plan has been
finalized.
For developers who use WU API data for non-commercial purposes , you
will have access to a new plan for a personal use, low call volume API.
Stay tuned for more details as we build this out.
The WU Forum will continue to be the best place to connect, keep you
informed, share your feedback and get your questions answered as we go
through this process.
We are grateful for your commitment to Weather Underground and
appreciate your understanding and support as we work through this
process. These changes will allow us to continually improve our services
and develop new features to keep WU a thriving place for you for many
years to come.

Thanks for being part of the community!
Sincerely,
The WU Team

Hi Phillipe,

I'm trying to get this working again, but after installing I see this
error on my LMS server.

"The procedure entry point WSAPoll could not be located in the dynamic
link library WS2_32.dll"

LMS is running on a WinXP box, is there a minimum Windows version
requirement?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2017-06-09 Thread Sb42

I have 2 SB3 Classics running off LMS v 7.91 and using SDT v5.10.26 - I
finally have the formatting on the display as I want it on SB3#1 but for
a reason I can't find, SB3#2 will not display the same data set. Is
there a limitation that prevents more than one SB3 from displaying the
data?

The strings in use are shown in the attached screenshot.

When not in use on SB3#1 I get a weather icon, High and Rain Percentage.
A one line prediction for the next day and the time and current temp.
On SB#2 I get an icon, day/month, and Rain Percentage.

Thanks for any help.

I did some more reading and decided to uninstall all instances of MS
Visual C and do a fresh install. I re-installed LMS which then installed
Visual C++ 2010 - the error still comes up. The Event log says

"Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft VC90.CRT Reference error

Is this of any help to you?

if this is the case and the avahi path error persists, where can I get

I have changed my PWS ID setting and now get some data. However I may be
missing something here. All I see is a High Temp and a POP as two lines
of quite small text. Weather, Date, Time gave me a display with a
weather graphic and text which used the full height and width of the
SB3. Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version

I've got a SB Classic with LMS 7.7.5 and BBC iplayer v1.3.1 alpha3. I am

I was tidying up my Favourites list and discovered that the link in the
BBC iplayer menu for World Service live stream doesn't play. An icon is
displayed in the now playing pane on LMS, but no sound is produced. I
tried both UK and non-UK.

The entry at Radiotime of

Did I miss a change in iplayer that removed World Service?

I've done all the modifications as suggested by the Legend that is bpa
to my LMS and now my Squeezebox Classics play BBS streams again, saving
them from use by my wide as a paperweight ;-)

However I can't get the cricket commentary as the 'rights notice'

proxy server allows me to access UK TV streams happily (shhh) from
outside of the UK.

I'm able to listen to the cricket stream on my desktop, but not via the

Occasionally the Radio loses connection with the PC that runs LMS, and
the Radio then connects to MSB.com - I'm not sure I follow your cut and
paste idea. The LMS favourites are actually BBCiplayer links (the SB
plugin) so if the Radio is connected to MSB.com they won't work. I've
tried pasting the direct BBC urls but msb.com says that the streams are
unrecognised.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iplayer silent on SB3

I'm running SC Version: 7.3.3 on Windows XP with 2 SB3 classics. It's
all been working fine for a couple of years and I happily run Alien BBC

I decided to try installing the iPlayer plugin v0.9d as advised by BPA.

item to play I get no sound. This happens with both Live and Listen

I'm outside of the UK

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 2.4a5 for 7.3.x beta available for testing

2009-06-06 Thread Sb42

I just did a fresh install install of SC 7.32 on WinXP and then
installed AlienBBC via the Extension Downloader; it all installed fine
but generated an error indicating a missing Mplayer. I rebooted the
computer and Alien then worked normally - no need for me to do a manual
Mplayer install.

Thanks again for a great Plugin!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 version - beta trial

Right...duplicates gone and back on track...

Now for the silly question of the day.

How do I delete favourites or rename them?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 version - beta trial

2009-01-10 Thread Sb42

I guess it's my week to fix outstanding issues.

The Alien BBC Menu in the web console seems to have several duplicate
entries for radio stations.

How can I edit the list? Or is there a file that I can replace to have
the most current menu?
