As you discovered, the WMA file container supports multiple Artists, Composers & Genres per track... and Slimserver supports it correctly.
Windows Media Player 10/11 works correctly with multiple names, as does the Windows Vista shell. In the UI, you'll see the names with semicolons between them... but when it actually writes the metadata to the file, it'll store discrete tags for each name. Regretably, most tools like Mp3tag will wipe out the multiple tags in WMA and keep (I think) the last one only when writing. (The author has been notified, but it's a low priority bug.) I'm sure Tag&Rename is similar or worse. FYI: In WMA, internally Album Artist is WM/AlbumArtist... which Slimserver also correctly reads. Hope this clears up some of the chaos... -- grommet ------------------------------------------------------------------------ grommet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5959 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36229 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
