Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
I love this app and have been using it for a little while now. Slightly tongue in cheek suggestion but have you ever considered learning to program for MacOS? SqueezeliteX is one of the only things I miss in MacOS. I've gone back to Squeezeplay for the moment which is fine TBH but Squeezelite-OSX would be marvellous jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
I've just returned to the LMS/Squeezebox system and TBH in struggling to remember why I kind of stopped using mine (I was seduced by the ease of streaming to Chromecast Audios using Google play music and gradually used LMS less and less) Anyway I have to say Squeezelite-X is awesome. I'm very impressed. I always had Squeezeplay for Windows as an extra player on my PC, either for local playback or controlling other SB devices but so far SLX is so much better. I also realise it's possible because of others too (Squeezelite itself and of course the material skin) so they also get my thanks too. ---- jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iOS App With Offline Support? (Spotify-like)
Yes you can do something similar on Android, however once downloaded you can't then use Orange Squeeze to play them, it's download only. Personally I have just less than the 20K limit for personal files on Google Music so I've uploaded them all the the Google servers, the Google Music app on Android at least does offline music properly, just click the push pin and push again to remove again. I'm not sure if offline music is a function on the iOS version but worth a look. ---- jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102524 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezer: open source Android Squeezeserver remote control
I've just joined in the beta program. For me the biggest deal breaker so far is the complete lack of support for the new configurable 2 artists list in LMS 7.9. If you're not sure what I mean, previous versions of LMS had the option to set the artist list to show either artists with albums only so you didn't get loads of random artists with 1 track on a compilation album cluttering the display. Latest LMS has the option to have 2 artist lists, Album Artists and All Artists. Squeezer just shows a single artist list which shows all artists. ---- jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] DenonSerial plugin thread
Just a thought and this is based on using IR based control systems not rs232. A lot of receivers will accept a source command when off/standby. So for example if I press CD on the remote my amp will turn on and be on the CD input. If I use power on with IR my amp also needs a short wait before I can then send the source command. If there's a source command via the serial control then it might be worth a try. jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67182 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I keep my duplicate mp3 files separate and not scanned by LMS. There's 2 possibilities if you want to use mp3 for remote streaming, 1. Use bit rate limiting and your server can transcode to mp3 using the original flac files. 2. The latest 7.9 nightlies now have an option to directly browse and play from the file system without needing them scanned and in your library, using this browse method doesn't add the tracks to your library either. That's a fair comment but even without continued development SC still remains one of, if not the best Android controllers out there IMO. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Android apps that work with Squeezelite
Both of those mentioned Android controllers are superior to the free Logitech one IMO. I have both and regularly use both so I wouldn't say either is better, just different. OrangeSqueeze Still in active development, you can also download a preview version of the next major release with some nice new features. Nice and streamlined to use Good integration with SqueezePlayer Squeeze Commander Development abandoned AFAIK. Still works well mind. Less intuitive initially, but quickly doesn't become a problem MUCH better facilities for building on the fly playlists. There's a play more button which sets what clicking on music tracks does, Play, add to end, play next and open context menu are all quickly selectable options. This is my main reason for not switching to Orange squeeze permanently. Both of them offer loads of extra stuff like downloading and are just a more pleasant experience than the Logitech controller app. ---- jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100051 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WD MyBook Live NAS
I have to say using the apps on my phone or tablet takes it to another level IMO. The Logitech one is alright plus the price is right but either of the other 2 are well worth the money, squeeze commander especially because you have a button to change what happens when you click a track, set it to add to end of the current playlist and you can just pass it round and get your guests to add tracks to the current playlist at will, no more wiping out your current playlist when trying to add tracks to the end. I don't know if it's of interest but did you know you can get an app called squeeze play for android, it doesn't have an interface as such but turns your device into another squeezebox, which can then be controlled just like any other squeezebox, including the apps previously mentioned above or even the Web interface or another player. I have a dock for my Nexus plugged into an old set of Yamaha 2.1 Pc speakers I use in my bedroom, very cheap way of adding another player to your setup Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD ---- jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84735 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WD MyBook Live NAS
Are you using the Web interface on your S2? I'd thoroughly recommend using one of the apps for this, Orange Squeeze or Squeeze Commander being my favourites but even the free Logitech app is better than the Web interface on a phone or tablet IMO. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Rhythmbox/banshee as a player
If you're running a recent version of LMS then you can enable the DNLA plugin in LMS. I presume rhythm box and/or banshee can function as a client. You won't be able to control a DNLA player using the Web interface or usual remote software but controlled directly they will be able to access your music. But LMS will continue to work for your local library anyway, it's just some functions that require mysqueezebox.com that will eventually stop. I.E. Premium music services and Internet radio stations that aren't saved to your favourites. So why the rush to just ditch your squeezebox. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
I'm having a weird thing with scanning that appears to be caused by the smart mix plug in. Basically although its probably not recommended I'm using the LMS UPNP plug in to scan and play videos to my PS3, mainly MP4 and Divx. To achieve this I have 2 media folders added, both of them being shares on a seperate NAS. The Media share is set for just Video and the Music share set just for music. Without Smartmix installed I can use the seperate scan buttons to just scan the media folder, Because I mainly download and watch TV series that wont make it to the UK for a while this gets used most days, on the other hand adding new music isnt quite so frequent. Scanning the media folder only takes approx a minute or less. As soon as the Smartmix plugin is installed clicking on either seperate scan button seems to initiate a full re-scan of both media folders, adding a good 10 minutes to the scan times. Its not a massive problem more a minor irritant and worth it for the plugin. ---- jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97668 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
