Yes - to both (left and right). But I tried to expose these two as they always show in the player list, ant I only want to play to both as a stereo pair. The AppleTV works with the HomePod Minis as default speaker, I can airplay to it as well. So this side works. But trying to play from LMS AirPlay Bridge, no sound is coming through the HomePod Minis. When I change to the TV speaker as default output, I get sound. So it works with the TV speaker (connected via audio back HDMI thingy) but not HomePod Minis which are connected via airplay. Any ideas? Hi I have a new AppleTV 4K and have set two HomePod Minis as the default output. Everything works, but AirPlay via the AirtPlay bridge does not. I have paired it successfully, and when I set the default speakers to the TV speaker, it works. But when I set the HomePod Minis as the default, it does not work anymore. The AppleTV detects the airplay from the LMS Server (It stops the ongoing playback), but there is no sound. As I said, when using the TV speakers (via eHDMI I think it is called), it works. Any suggestion of settings in the AirPlay bridge, or is it a known limitation? Sure. But would a HomePod app for iPeng be able to control this behavior? I dont know. Why I do not use the Walk With Me plugin or switch via iPeng? HomePods have the feature, to handoff playback from an iPhone to the HomePod by just moving the iPhone physically close to the HomePod. This works in so far, that the iPhone does not play on the the iPhone speaker, but on the the HomePod via AirPlay, but the LMS player is still the iPhone. In consequence, when I move away from the wifi signal, the playback stops on the HomePod. What would be ideal is, that the the handoff results in a player sync and switch to the HomePod, so that the LMS is switching, via the excellent airplay bridge plugin, to the HomePod ( as an airplay speaker) and continues playing. Therefore, the iPhone would be put of the loop and free top play other stuff. Hi I have now two HomePod Mini paired as a stereo pair, which works nicely for my TV (intermediate solution), but when I use the Airplay Bridge, they show up as two separate speaker. Do I have to group them and set one to play right, the other left? This works, but can I, in this case, hide the individual players and see the group player? Or am I missing something here, like grouping in the ? I have one question according to iPeng: When I am doing a hand-off from my iPhone to my HomePod mini, it works - but the sound is streamed from my iPhone to the HomePod via Airplay. This works, but it would be much nicer to have a real handoff, i.e. that the action of handoff triggers a switching of the player on the LMS, so that iPeng on the iPhone is only the remote, and LMS is streaming to the HomePod via Airplay and the airplay bridge. This would be a very nice feature. [SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS and Apple
I must say I really love LMS and iPeng - I always come back to them and find new intriguing new stuff. To be clear - these are no complains or reasons to leave LMS behind (at the moment), but the points could be a major improvement for a certain user segment of LMS. Here comes my confession: We are an Apple household, and I am also using Apple Music, AirPlay 2, Siri, HomePods (soon), ... So while I always use / return to the LMS ecosystem, there is essentially no integration with the Apple ecosystem, apart from iPeng which is really great (but slightly outdated?). I am really wondering: what is the reason, why there is no further integration with the Apple ecosystem? Is it because of missing Apple users who can also code? Is it because of the limitations of the Apple ecosystem? I think one has to differentiate between the server side and the client side. On the client side (controlling LMS player) there is iPeng. As I said, it is great, but I am still waiting for shortcut and Siri support which would be a great step forward. Your iPhone as the hub to control LMS via Siri. To be able to include LMS into automations would open the doors for further usage scenarios. Would it be too much to ask, to have squeezelite / LMS player on an HomePod? Probably yes, but one can dream. I think that most users would even be prepared to pay for new features, either via a new version, or via a new subscription model for iPeng with regular updates and new features? On the server side, the problem is likely more difficult, as I do not know if e.g. Apple Music integration could be managed from any other platform than a Mac. But still - it should be possible to get this integration for a Mac. I just saw there is at least a web API to https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applemusicapi (The Apple Music API is a web service that lets you access information about the media found in the Apple Music Catalog and the user's personal iCloud Music Library. ) and also https://developer.apple.com/documentation/musickitjs (MusicKit JS lets users play songs from Apple Music and their Cloud Library inside your JavaScript app.). I do not know enough about these APIs and the inner workings of LMS, but I think some level of integration should be possible? As above, I think that many Apple users would be happy to have the integration of Apple Music and would be prepared to pay for it - be it in crowd funding, or purchase / subscription of the final plugins. The last point is AirPlay 2. The Protokoll has been been described / cracked / ... So why is there no implementation yet as there is an Airplay one? No idea why, but would like to understand it - is it because AirPlay 2 does not offer that many advantages over AirPlay (1)? To sum up: LMS is great, and I even consider getting a Qobuz subscription only for LMS. But I would prefer if LMS would integrate more with the Apple ecosystem and I would happily give the money I would pay for Qobuz to the further development of LMS and the LMS - Apple integration. I just saw this thread, and I have the same issues, that sometimes the player in the kitchen gets louder. This one is often switched on via iPeng. Hi I have forked the plugin at https://github.com/greebowarrior/homebridge-squeezebox (which is not maintained anymore) (at https://github.com/rkrug/homebridge-squeezebox) and have implemented the players as fans, so that I can control the volume by using automations and Siri commands (ok - for louder I have to say faster...). But as I am not really knowledgable in javascript and home bridge plugin writing, I am looking for others to contribute to this plugin in the form of new features or finding bugs (it sometimes crashes home bridge...). [SlimDevices: Plugins] Use Android Tablet as display for LMS player and to control LMS player
Hi I am completely new to Android (Apple person - sorry) but have now an Android tablet which I would like to integrate into my LMS system. I could just use a browser and the material skin - but I am looking for different options. I like a display of the currently playing tracks / albums / album art (for which I could switch to the material skin), but also like these VU meters. It seems, that that jivelite could be an option, but I don't think I can use it on an android tablet. To make it more complex, it would be nice if I could switch to different players, but this would be optional. Oh - my players are at the moment all AirPlay 2 speakers. So I am open to ideas and suggestions, and would even consider installing Linux on the tablet if this works (no idea if I can jailbreak it). Hi I have a few AirPlay devices (Libratone Zip Mini 2, AppleTV, Yamaha receiver RX???) and I am using these via AirPlay Bridge as LMS players. This works nicely. Now I switched from Spotify to Apple Music, and I can use the AppleTV as the server which plays on the other AirPlay devices, which also works nicely. My problem comes in when I want to send music or podcasts from my iPhone to the LMS server (Pi 3) and to non-airplay players. I tried to install the ShairTunes2(fork) plugin, which finishes without any error messages, but I can't see any of the squeezelite players in the iPhone. What am I missing? Can't I install them at the same time? How can I debug this? Hi I love the Material skin - thanks. I only always get "shocked" when I open the settings of LMS, which only use the old skin... but that's a different story. I have problems when using the Material skin in iOS 12.1.1 on an iPhone SE and under Mojave. The "Durchsuchen in Safari is on both skins empty. 26302 Initially, it was working on the Mac. Clearing Cache, restarting Safari, does not work, same for reinstalling the Material skin. It works on Firefox (iOS and Mojave) and I am using Fluid https://fluidapp.com now on Mojave where it also works. Let me know, if you need any further info to debug this - or am I doing something wrong? OK - now I had the issue of spottily connect playing the same track again for the first time. My setup: piCorePlayer with LMS server, three clients: Chromecast Audio, squeezelite on a pi, and squeeze lite on a MacBook. All are enabled for Spotify Connect. As far as I remember, I followed this procedure (did not try to reproduce): Tried to play on the Chromecast, long delay before starting, stopped the play (I think). Hi This is just to mention a problem I had and how I fixed it: Problem: The xml files for the "Listen Again" in BBCiPlayer were not parsed but shown as a stream (web interface) or not at all (iPeng) Solution: The clock on the server was completely off - 1970 something. [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer On Demand streams not working
Is it only me or is the BBCiPlayer plugin not showing any on-demand streams anymore, but a xml file as if it would be a stream? For me it looks as follow: 21092 and that's it - the xml contains all the info as far as I can see. BBCiPlayer 1.4.9 is installed new (deleted old installation completely, including preferences) and on-demand streams work in BBCiPlayerExtra and live streams are working on BBCiPlayer as well (DASH). [SlimDevices: Plugins] DSTM - Last Mix (Local Music) gives very eclectic mix!
Hi I was listening to Thylacine's Albun Transsiberian (Electro Music) from Qobuz and I decided to enable DSTM - Last Mix (Local Music only). It populated the playlist at the end, but than came the surprise: 20850 El Condor Pasa is definitely not similar to Electro, and Bach also not that much. And it continued. The fiollowing songs were: 20851 So why are there these random like song selections? Has this to do with local tagging, or that I started the Local Only mix while playing Qobuz? Working now: OK - I disabled flac streaming for Apple Lossless and now it is working. Hi I have a qobuz streaming accoung and I am logged into it from the LMS. Everything worked fine, but after returning from a a holiday, and booting my LMS up, I can't stream anymore. For all albums LMS (the Qobuz plugin) tells me (We're sorry, this work is not available for streaming.), although I can stream it on my desktop desktop computer as well as my mobile. I restarted the LMS to be sure, but still the same, and I can see my Favourites, so I am logged in. Any suggestions what is wrong here?
