Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Local Player plugin and Squeezelite for Linux/Windows/OSX

2017-10-29 Thread sjalloq

Ah, ok. Sorry. Been a long weekend. I had originally tried running
without specifying the server, and specifying the server and no port,
and neither worked for some reason which is why I ended up where I was.
All seems happy now.

Tim, I am asking what does error 577 mean. :-)

The port and IP are correct. As I mentioned, my SB Classic is playing
fine and I can browse to LMS at that address.

No, just the one client. I stopped it by Ctrl-C'ing otherwise it would
have looped forever doing the sendHELO.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Local Player plugin and Squeezelite for Linux/Windows/OSX

2017-10-28 Thread sjalloq

Hi there,

just tried to use Squeezelite for the first time and am having as issue
I can't find a solution for. I've found lots of similar bug reports but
can't see any fixes/solutions.

Squeezelite v1.8.6-997, Mac OS Sierra, LMS 7.7.2-007 running on Synology
DS213.

I'm running a Logitech SB Classic that runs fine. However, trying to
run squeezelite fails with the following error:

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is the best way to get BBC Radio these days (from the UK)?

2015-06-21 Thread sjalloq

OK, an update from my side. This evening I've had a play and tried a
few things. I'm currently listening to the R1 stream via both my
Logitech Squeezeblox Classic and Squeezeplay on OS X. I've also
installed LMS 7.8.1 on an Ubuntu VM on my server.

Squeezeplay is fine.
My Squeezebox is dropping out all over the place.

And those two network loggers were enabled already and should be in the
log I uploaded. There might be some noise in there as I was playing
with the logs to see what they output. Today, I've just started the
live feed of BBC R1 and it buffered on startupand I was about to say
not since, but it has just done it. I'll attach a clean log of today's
activity.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is the best way to get BBC Radio these days (from the UK)?

2015-06-20 Thread sjalloq

It's definitely related to having a chunk list of 5. Every time I get
"merged chunklist now 5 chunks" it underruns. I've been seeing the
following type of warnings today quite a bit so perhaps there are
requests going on in the background that cause a process to timeout.
I've tried to disable mysqueezebox in settings but it obviously is still
running trying to sync. After this underrun, the stream stopped
completely.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is the best way to get BBC Radio these days (from the UK)?

2015-06-20 Thread sjalloq

I just wanted to add to this thread. I'm seeing the same sort of
dropouts and issues as others here.

I've enabled logging of plugin.bbciplayer.hls. I've been watching the
log stream while I try to listen and the dropouts always seem to
coincide with a larger number of chunks being received. Similar to the
post by rbl, whenever I see 4 new chunks received and the "merged
chunklist" string, the sound drops out.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer rebuffering

2015-04-16 Thread sjalloq

I'm also seeing issues. Am using only the BBC iPlayer plugin and Listen
Live, exclusively Radio1. I had the occasional buffering when the
initial HLS issues were sorted out but it has mostly been very
occasional and wasn't an issue. Over the last two weeks or so it has
become almost unusable in the evenings and pauses every 20 seconds or
so. This evening I've just got home and turned on my SB. A couple of
dropouts straight away and then it has been fine while I've been writing
this post.

I'm in the UK. Upgraded to v1.3.1alpha3 yesterday which made no
difference. Am running from a Synology DS213 but the CPU load is fine -
it peaks only occasionally but sits between 6-15% most of the time. I
followed the thread/link posted earlier about DNS issues and I'm already
using 8.8.8.8 and ran a test showing I was using the fastest server.
I'm on BT with an ADSL connection.

Happy to help debug if I can do anything.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2015-03-17 Thread sjalloq

Just wanted to add something here for those who are still struggling. I
only just checked in to see what progress is being made and tried to
install Triode's latest alpha plugin. However, I couldn't get the LA
feeds to work until I had first uninstalled PlayHLS, restarted,
uninstalled Triode's alpha plugin, restarted, re-installed Triodes's
alpha plugin. Now all seems well for the few stations I've tried in
both Listen Live and Listen Again. Nice work.

2015-02-17 Thread sjalloq

Just wanted to reply to an old question on the other thread about my
setup. Taken ages to catch up on the posts here. :-) May be useful
for anyone debugging.

As a roundup: I'm running a Synology DS213 with LMS 7.7.2 and ffmpeg
0.7.9. No issues. No hung ffmpeg processes. All I've done is install
bpa's original playhls v1.1.

I'm running a Synology DS213 and am having no issues. I installed LMS
via Package Centre and all I've done to get it working is update LMS
with bpa's plugin. I had ffmpeg installed already and I'm pretty sure
this came with the LMS install. At least I don't remember ever
installing it manually. It's in
/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Bin/ffmpeg and is version 0.7.9. I'm
running LMS 7.7.2

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2015-02-09 Thread sjalloq

Not been round these parts for a long time so haven't kept up. I've
been using the BBC Applet and when that stopped working the other day I
found my way to Triode's plugin. Installed that last night and was
playing nicely. Today, 9th Feb, I get home after work and I can't play
R1 and get the same looping message.

I'm running LMS 7.7.2 on a Synology NAS device. I'm a BT customer based
in the UK. Don't know if that will help anyone debug.

Cheers.

Well, I was just writing a reply to say how long it took to crash and
it has started working again. The two things that I did were to
manually change the current playing album using squeezecentre and I'd
also docked my iPhone to get at iTunes.

I'm going with SC as being the problem again. Does it keep a log that
would be useful?

Hey Pippin,

I turned on airline mode, didn't help. I rebooted, didn't help.
Turned airline mode off, didn't help. It just crashes every time.

Is it possible to delete it and download it again from the App Store?
I've not used the AS much.

Thanks.

Hey pippin, back again. Are there any known issues with 1.0.5 that would
cause it to crash on startup? I've restarted my iPhone so far but that
us all.

Thanks.

so I'm a happy customer. Thanks for a great product. :-)

Sorry, I only assumed it was an iPeng issue as I was using it at the
time SC crashed. I'll try and replicate the problem when I get a
chance and get back to you. I thought it might have been similar to
the issue someone had a few pages back having to restart his NAS.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-02-03 Thread sjalloq

Hey there,

I have a bug report that I'd like to file and I guess this is the right
place.

I installed SC 7.3.2 last night and also installed iPeng 1.0.5 on my
iPhone. I was happily playing with it and getting to know the UI when
SC crashed and stalled my Mac.

I'm running SC on Mac OS X on a Mac Mini. What I could see was that a
Perl task, I'm assuming it was SC, suddenly went to 100% CPU
utilisation and was using 2.5GB+ of virtual mem. I also think it must
have been writing to some temporary file too as my free disk space was
going down but seemed to free itself after reset.

I had to kill the process and then restart my Mac to get it running
smoothly again.

I didn't have time last night to try and replicate it but am happy to
send any logs or do whatever to help diagnose. Just let me know.

Thanks.
