Thanks, I found a workaround bij replacing the second wildcard in ...InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/custom-convert.conf with the MAC address of the squeezelite. Now ogg streaming from spotty only is used with the player it works on. Not sure this will survive a spotty update.and like you said it has been transcoding for the squeezelite for years until a few weeks ago. I will see if I can find another app to stream to my iPad1 since Squeezecast is a bit quirky. Unfortunately ipeng is no longer supported on iPad1. ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112962 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.4 - more personalised content
I have an Odroid XU4 running DietPi with LMS 8.1.1 and a Squeezelite player. In my study I have an iPad1 on a B&W Zeppelin running Squeezecast. The squeezelite player works fine with Spotty, but the squeezecast will freeze (requiring iPad reboot) unless in File Types I set Spotty ogg to disabled. >From playing around with C-3PO I saw the squeezcast reports it supports ogg, but apparently it does not (at least not in combination with spotty). Is there a way to disable ogg only for my squeezecast (e.g. by MAC), but not for the squeezelite player? /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/custom-convert.conf does not change when I change File Types in the server settings. (or are settings stored elsewhere?) /etc/squeezeboxserver/convert.conf does not contain the spotty commands. That might explain the behaviour I experienced. I have no idea how the API works. It might be an idea for people experiencing strange problems to check if the time was correct on all devices involved. Spotty behaviour is spottless here now. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.6.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Hi Michael I had a problem with tracks not starting at the beginning on my setup that appears to be related to the time on different devices in my setup. I have an ODROID XU4Q running Dietpi, LMS 7.9.1, Spotty 2.6.6 and Squeezelite. When I start a track from the Spotify app in connect mode on my iPad Air the track often starts up to 35 seconds into the track. Also when I go to the next or previous track. The number of seconds it skips is constant from track to track, but can be different from day to day. The problem will be gone ( for a while) when I reboot the ODROID. Restarting LMS does not help. Tracks do start at the beginning when I use chromecast on my NVIDIA Shield from Spotify app or when I play through spotty from the LMS web interface. (Only ODROID device involved). The ODROID was set to emulate a hardware RTC and only sync time once a day and at boot time. When I enabled the built in hardware RTC and ntpdaemon drift compensation the problem disappeared! Problems with the app sometimes showing different tracks than were actually playing or spotty no longer responding to the app have also not occured since then. If I turn off ntp and set the ODROID time 30-60s in advance I get a different behaviour: when I start a track the progress in the Spotify iPad app stays at zero while the music is playing. When I pause and restart a track the progress barr jumps around. I have not tested this extensively. Could differences in RTC time on different devices cause this type of behaviour,( and possibly also problems other users are reporting)? I understand the RPi does not have a hardware clock and relies on software RTC emulation. ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109705 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Squeezelite is normally started using systemd with options -a 4096:1024:16:0 -n 'Squeezelite Woonkamer' -f /var/log/squeezelite.log This is the dafult settings Dietpi installs it with , except for the -C 5, which I removed to keep the HDMI connection with my receiver alive. If I remove the -a 4096:1024:16:0 and reboot, it consistently stops after the one song. Below the log when I restarted a stopped track. Again it stopped after one track, but no 'Has spotify://track:xxx been played? yes', with Spotty debug on info. I no longer get audio over HDMI. Is that the :0 option? Or > really have the same track in the playlist twice in a row? > > -- > > Michael Sorry Michael. I thought I was being ignored, but I just did not recognise my own log in your reply. :) No, I did not play that track before, but further research seems to suggest it is indeed the problem with Spotty thinking the same track is played twice. Apparently because it receives the current track as next track. Yesterday I updated to Spotty 2.5.1 (using helper spotty-hf 0.12.0 (auto)), but the problem of stopping albums or playlists remains. I put a partial log on pastebin of playing the radiohead Kid A album, no shuffle. Music stopped at the end of track 3, and the log seems to show that the next track after track 3 was actually the same track. So Spotty stopped. Since nobody else is complaining, and it happens to me all the time, could there be something with my setup/account that is different or should be reset? I already did a clean re-install of the Spotify app on the iPad. I do see I have 'optimize pre-buffering' on for this log but it happens also when this is off (that was the reason I turned it on) Should I further investigate with that option off, or can this not be related? Setup is still Spotify IOS app, connect from iPad air 1 on IOS12 Server and squeezelite player on Odroid XU4Q running DietPi 6.17.12. This happens also when using Spotty to stream to iPeng on my iPhone, so it appears not player related. I will turn off optimize pre-buffering again and see what the log says then. Since a few weeks I have an Odroid XU4Q, but i keep gettign erractic behavior with Spotty. Playback stops in the middle of a playlist or album, often the first seconds of a song are skipped when I start or skip manually to the next track. Changing the spotty helper or using th eoptimize buffer option did not help. Below the relevant part of the log (Spotty on info) where playback was stopped just before the end of a track in the middle of an album. It seems Spotty thinks this was the last track. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I just made a new setup with a Raspberry Pi 1 model B, running DietPi 6.13, LMS 7.9.1, SqueezeLite and Spotty 2.4.2 (Automatically selected Spotty-hf 0.12.0). Sound is connected over HDMI from the RPI to my Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver. Just playing a whole playlist/album goes fine (Excellent work Michael, Thanks!) I usually initiate Spotify connect to the Pi from my iPad Spotify app. When I pause a track or skip a track, my Onkyo looses the HDMI connection and switches to analog in (I cannot turn that off uit seems), and when the track resumes or the next track plays it takes a second or two for the Onkyo to switch to HDMI again. Causing me to loose the first seconds of audio. This happens when I skip/pause the spotify track from the iPad spotify app or from the web interface. This does NOT happen when I skip or pause a track from my _local_ library. I know Kodi has/had an option to keep sending zero's over HDMI when sound was off, but I cannot find that option in the OS itself. Anything I can do about this behavior (except using analog out on the Pi)? ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have no experience with Python, so it was just a lucky guess that fixed it for me. :) ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108561 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Michael, could it be there is bug in Spotty that (at least for windows) overwrites the 'Don't discover' option? I changed plugin.pm, $pref->init from Code: disableDiscovery => main::ISWINDOWS ? 1 : 0, to Code: disableDiscovery => 0, Now the options does not change after a restart/reboot. I checked with the option on and off. If it was set automatically because of 3 spotty.exe crashes, would that not leave an error message in the log? I see the prefs file is also used to store data on tracks played. Could it be the file is written (with init values) before it is read after a server restart? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Just a heads up. Connect from my ipad broke after the spotify app updated yesterday, but todays Spotty update 2.1.10 seems to fix it again. Other family member accounts can now also connect (after only one member authorised)! Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1519287262 @ Thu Feb 22 09:30:01 WEST 2018, Spotty 0.9.9, Windows 7. I did get LMS forgetting authorisation after restart (once) and then spotty.exe crashing when I played a track anyway (connect device still showed up on the iPad). I cannot reproduce. Possibly related to restarting server while playing music over Spotty-connect. Thanks for fixing this Michael. ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108561 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I am running Spotty 2.1.9 with LMS 7.9.1 on Windows 7. The connect functionality works rather well. It is just that whenever I reboot the computer, or even stop and start LMS, the " Don't announce" option is ticked again, and my Squeezebox does not show up in Spotify. Apparently the option is not stored in the plug-in settings. Is this by design? I deleted all preference files and setup LMS again, but the problem persists. Strange enough I still can connect with Spotify accounts that do not show up in the Spotty settings. So something of the plugin/Spotty preferences were left behind it seems. ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108561 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi pippin When I start (or switch to) another app iPeng automatically moves to the background on iOS. You would have to call up the switcher and actively quit (swipe up) iPeng every time you changed someting to your music to NOT have it in the background. iPeng is not in the list of background app refresh apps, so that is also not a way to influence this behaviour. ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I just bought iPeng and am loving it, although there are some things I still need getting used to. I found when I run iPeng in the background on my iPad the volume buttons affect the volume of my squeezebox and not just the volume of my iPad. I now have to quit iPeng to be able to change my iPad volume. Would it be possible to make it a configurable option to control squeezebox volume using the hardware buttons. (Or disable them when iPeng is not the foregroynd app?) ustinov's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
