Ok I have MusicIp installed on my Vortexbox & SugarCube activated. Pointed at folders and it has found a different number of tracks to that reported by LMS - about 1,000 less ? Can anyone tell me where the config file generated by MusicIp headless resides - presumably /opt/MusicMagicMixer somwhere ? Anyway now Validating Songs and at current pace the SugarCube trial licence is going to expire before it completes. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Spicefly SugarCube] MusicIP can be ondifferent server?
MusicIP server must indeed be running. On the bright side, just about any X86 machine is able to run it, so an old netbook with an Atom cpu is quite enough and won't consume all that much power. My previous setup was 'vortexbox ' (http://vortexbox.org/downloads)for LMS, but for some strange reason the included MusicIP server didn't want to scan my music folders, so I used MusicIP headless on my Windows Server (where my music was also physically located), and it worked flawlessly using the Dynamic Path Conversion. I've since moved away from my Windows Server, redoing my whole IT infrastructure at home, and the newest version of Vortexbox is happily running on an old Dell E6500 laptop, MusicIP included, the Physical location of my music being a 'NAS4FREE ' (http://www.nas4free.org/)box I created, holding around 24TB of data :) Main System: Touch; Marantz SR-5004; TMA Premium 905; TMA Premium 901; BK Monolith+ FF; HDI Dune Smart D1; Pioneer PDP-LX5090H iPad 32GB Wifi + Squeezepad (local playback activated) Acer Iconia Tab A700 + Squeezeplayer Wandboard Duallite + CSOS, integrated LMS activated bakker_be's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30369 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105724 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Spicefly SugarCube] MusicIP can be ondifferent server?
You are 100% correct. Spicefly Sugarcube even has a feature to allow you to translate the path your music is found at (Dynamic Path Conversion). Example: - LMS is running on your NAS - Music is on your NAS - LMS sees your music on e.g. /mnt/music/ - MusicIP server is running on a PC - MusicIP sees your music at \\NAS\Music - Enable Dynamic Path Conversion - In "DPC (LMS) - Set #1" enter /mnt/music/ - In "DPC (MusicIP) - Set #1" enter \\NAS\Music Two sets are available, making sure that LMS knows where to find the song MusicIP tells it to play next.
