I think it may be Gentoo specific as ED works OK for Linux for other users. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I used the Squeezecenter Extension Downloader for the installation; I did not install AlienBBC myself from the zip file. Perhaps changes should be made to the Extension Downloader procedure to ensure proper permissions on mplayer.sh when AlienBBC is installed. -- Ron Olsen Ron Olsen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9233 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I turned on the above logging options and looked at the resulting log. The key log entry: [09-05-18 04:46:03.4219] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::checkBin (260)couldn't find binary for: mplayer.sh I checked /var/lib/squeezecenter/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Alien/Bin/mplayer.sh and found that the permissions were as follows: # ls -l mplayer.sh -rw-r--r-- 1 squeezecenter squeezecenter 1295 2009-05-06 20:08 mplayer.sh I added execute permissions: # chmod +x mplayer.sh I retried the test, and everything worked as it should. Perhaps execute permissions should be added to mplayer.sh to prevent this problem. -- Ron Olsen Ron Olsen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9233 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Ron Is this a new AlienBBC install or an upgrade from a working one that is now broken ? Can you get a log (See WebUI Settings/Advanced/Logging) with player.source set to DEBUG and plugin.alienbbc set to DEBUG 1. Note time 2. Try a station 3. Copy into a plain text file *all* log entries from noted time until end of test. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: AlienBBC 2.5
Hi. For me AlienBBC 2.5 works great on SC7.3.2/debian linux. I have noticed that, probably due to connection failures or timeouts, my machine can pile up inactive mplayer/flac processes over time. They take no CPU, but a little memory and I am looking to make the headless server as reliable as possible. I guess I didn't wait for the TCP idle timeout, which is stock -at over 2hrs I guess. Will the processes go away after the timeout ? Is there a recommended setting/admin measure to keep the number of mplayer/flac processes from bulging ? I repeat, the plugin works great. I love it and I am grateful for it. -- epoch1970 epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: AlienBBC 2.5
I'm running SqueezeCenter 7.3.2 on Gentoo Linux, and just installed the AlienBBC v2.5-7.3 plugin via the Extension Downloader. When I try to play a stream (for example, Guy Garvey's Finest Hour in BBC 6 Music), I get the following error in /var/lib/squeezecenter/server.log: 09-05-17 20:14:02.0497] Slim::Player::Song::open (341) Error: Couldn't create command line for rtsp playback for [rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:554/6musiccoyopa/6music_-_sunday_2200.ra?timestamp=1242602547&pid=b00kgg3p&BBC-UID=84883c5d89ce5d713df19c58f06007cf1114dc12e0c03124045f69771236f60b&SSO2-UID=] I see the artwork for the show on my SqueezeCenter web interface, but nothing plays due to the above error. I get a similar error with every other stream that I try. However, the following command works and plays the stream on my computer: mplayer rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk:554/6musiccoyopa/6music_-_sunday_2200.ra Any idea what's going wrong and how to fix it? -- Ron Olsen Ron Olsen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9233 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: AlienBBC 2.5
Displaying the BBC program "images" and the station logos for live (national & regional) stations was one of the small enhancements made for 2.5. These are best seen on Squeezeplay and SBC. The BBC images use a "wide screen" format which is displayed correctly on Squeezeplay and SBC but unfortunately on WebUI - they are resized into a square and so are distorted slightly. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: AlienBBC 2.5
By the way, maybe it's not new, but I've just noticed that I'm getting thumbnail images with (some?) streams. Composer of the week listen again has a nice composer related thumbnail. New or not - thanks for a wonderful add-on. And one small wish for the future. I "pause by hand" - I remember my position - stop the (listen again) stream, and then when I start it again skip to about my old position - maybe a tiny bit before. Any hope of that being done automagically in the future? -- Millwood 2 SB3, 1 Duet Debian Etch server 2 AP (netgear, linksys) wireless network.
