Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
I must say it has been good. The music from the Squeezelite is awesome. Very much appreciated. Thanks Michael and Man in a Van. The only issue that screwed everything up was the Desktop Spotify app which was casting and connecting to the RPI. Uninstalled it forever. I will probably move from Max2Play to PiCorePlayer when the period ends. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
@HERCULEPIRATE I have never used the LMS Spotty Plugin very much :( The reason is that I once asked Mr Herger a question regarding Rust and he replied that I might like to "try it myself" :) (or something like that :D) Anyway, not knowing how to compile even a garden compost bin I started looking for posts from people who knew what they are doing. I found a post by pinkdot on another forum and that remained my "go to" buld for "librespot" for a very long time. Pinkdot eventually seemed to move to spotifyd but my brain could not cope with all the copy and paste  Then I found "spocon" and have been using it ever since (intermittently as I often suspend my Spotify Premium Account) https://github.com/spocon/spocon This morning I installed it on the two rpi that I have configured for m2p 37269 It does require a little configuration; name change, bit playback size, volume at start up, that sort of thing. It does seem reliable, I have been controlling it from my Windows 10 Pro Desktop Spotify for about an hour now, with no glitches  Anyway I offer "spocon" as an alternative method :):):p ronnie +---+ |Filename: spocon.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37269| +---+ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115976 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
Can someone explain why the Spotify application is stable and not the Spotify-Connect function. I think I've tried to explain this many times before... as far as I understand the issue. In short: the Connect mode is a hack. Connect mode suffers from the fact that both LMS and Spotify believe they are in control of the playback. Both believe they keep state (shuffling, volume, play/pause etc.). So they somehow have to be kept in sync. This unfortunately all too often doesn't work as expected. Spotify tells LMS to stop playback, while from the LMS side of things there's no such information. Or LMS thinks that the stream is ending, while Spotify believes it still takes a few minutes etc. Spotify thinks it needs to reset the volume, as a new client is connecting, while LMS would rather continue to play in the previous volume etc. All these conflicts lead to a ton of code dealing with exceptions when to handle a state change and when not. But unfortunately this code is far from perfect. Is the TIDAL app through the LMS just as flaky Spotty is the only integration providing support for the service native app. Again: this has been explained before. TIDAL doesn't provide the necessary information to us, and we can't leverage the hacks found out there, as Logitech has contracts with TIDAL. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
i am hoping that when I cast from my iPeng app to my Squeezelite player while my Spotify music through Spotty is playing, the music audio switches without a problem. Last time, I tried, it did switch and never was able to go back. Another question, why can't I connect to spotify (max2play) from my desktop app? It is always "connecting" and never connecting. What do you mean by switching between Squeezelite and Spotty? Spotty is an LMS plugin. You are still playing to Squeezelite. The Tidal app works fine but there is no Tidal Connect. I see there is a new Spotty version, I'll update to that when I can It's unlikely it will improve the Connect reliability, unfortunately. But please try it out. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
Hi Michael I am trying to get ANY help actually. This has been so strange Perfect combination of SQZlite + Spotify. I had also uploaded the logs in my previous posts and had no response. Hence the multiple threads. I have switched all the OS's and the problem persists. I have activated Spotify Connect on the mx2play and enabled it in the SQL server. I can browse SPOTTY from my SQZserver App Menu and play music from there too... But when I try to play music from my Iphone to the max2play or pcp, it does not play. Any help? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
I am trying to play music on my Spotify app and playing it on my Squeezelite implementation on max2play and picoreplayer. The music plays for a while (mostly just 1 song) and then stops. I guess you're using the Connect mode? Would playback using the Spotty be more stable? Unfortunately Connect mode is known to be fragile with Spotty. In particular if you're using large buffer sizes for squeezelite. Is this something you're customizing? BTW: I've seen postings of yours all over the place. It's hard to keep up with all the threads where you're posting various pieces of your problems. Please try to concentrate on only a few. And then provide a bit more detail about your system setup, the issues you're facing etc. The way you're posting now we have to collect data from various places in order to understand what issue you're facing. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The music plays for a while (mostly just 1 song) and then stops. Why does this happen. Any help? Have the latest v8 SQZ Server and SPOTTY v4.7.3 installed.
