I couldn't get it to work, neither in Arch nor Ubuntu. As with most of my Linux experiences, I got a couple of hours down the road to following your suggestion above and hit a wall I couldn't climb. In this case, I searched forums to learn what mono was, executed several commands to install mono, and then could not figure out how to run the .exe file. I have the Monodevelop environment installed. Was that right? How would I find out? I searched for "how to run .net apps under Ubuntu" and followed what was there. Ubuntu is extremely frustrating for a new user. Simple activities like running an application require hours of investigation. Each seems to have its own procedures and protocols: some require adding repositories, other new environments, others config file modifications, others god knows what. I know this is not your fault or issue, I just thought I'd vent. Still, if you have any suggestions how to run Moose, now that (I hope) I have mono installed, I would appreciate it. Hi, I've not run Moose under mono for ages, but in theory it should still work.. Problem was the gdi graphics emulation was pretty slow in ubuntu, which meant it was all rather unusable.. A year or so's passed though, so it may all be sorted out now.. Worth a try.. You just need to run the .exe under the latest mono.. -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Is there a version of Moose that runs under Linux? I just installed Ubuntu and SqueezeCenter 7.3 and rescanned my music. What was previously a 9-hour scan under Windows XP is now less than 4. I'd like to run Moose as well. It's one of my favorite apps. Is or will there be a Linux version? Hi.. To get mysql working with the latest moose, make sure it's unbound the my.tt for you (open moose->preferences, check the radio below the mysql option is ticked, then click ok. If moose says it needs to unbind, then it's not unbound - if it doesnt, then it's ok).. Also make sure port 9092 is open on BOTH machines.. If you've not opened it on ubuntu, that's probably the problem.. -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Just pop the server's IP address into Moose's settings and ensure any firewalls are configured correctly.. Be worth grabbing 0.62a or the new 0.63 so you dont need to manually edit the my.tt file.. -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
