Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SB Boom - Spoiled Grandma mode (multiple screensavers)
Hey Peter, thanks for responding. For me, Contextmenu alone on the Boom, as it is, brings the key feature. Please don't rush in any changes just on my account. There is a standard music info mode that displays what's playing + the current time and date, the text is a bit small but the info is here. Having contextmenu call the 1st ss, instead of the current one, should be a solution. I don't know if such a mod is of general interest, though. I will look into Music Info / Title switcher. -- epoch1970 epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62148 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] SB Boom - Spoiled Grandma mode (multiple screensavers)
I have now a Boom on my own again, that's great. Having learnt to appreciate SaverSwitcher on my SB3 (alternating analog VU and now playing.) I want to use it on the Boom to alternate Date and Now Playing. I have a tendency to let the alarms play for too long, so a regular reminder of the current time will help. I also want to use the knob for volume at all times, and I can get this from ContextMenu. I like very much the ability to navigate, do a long press on the knob, see what's playing and rotate for volume, then press again and get back to my original position in the navigation history. The Boom has a small screen, I prefer saving potentially long treks (wait for scrolling to kick-in to see the full item name) in the menu hierarchy. There is an issue when using both, though: - SaverSwitcher offers Jump to Now Playing. So when it kicks in, I lose my position in the menu hierarchy when I press the knob a second time to get out of Grandma mode. - I hacked the plugin to allow screensaver, which was aliased to playlist. In this case, I do not lose my position in the menu when I come out of Grandma mode. But I need to press the knob as many times as SaverSwitcher did alternate between Date and Now Playing. Another minor issue is that entering Grandma mode now displays either now playing or the current date, an info that has little relation with music volume. I like the idea of alternating Date and Now playing on the Boom. Is it possible to do this in conjunction with Grandma mode ? (I'm asking because I know anything is possible, here... I love very much my setup as it is, anyway.) -- epoch1970 epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62148 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SB Boom - Spoiled Grandma mode (multiple screensavers)
Apologies in advance for tghe brief reply. Have you tried Michael Herger's Music Info Screensaver? Coupled with Erland's TitleSwitcher, it could help you fix not only the playlist/screensaver problem, but make better use of the screen space. Long press going to Date and Time: maybe the contextmenu activate screensaver should go to the first active saver? Global prefs: because SS preceded SettingsManager. :-) -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver ContextMenu FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62148 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
