Sync always worked fine for me under 6.5.x, and presented no problems when I first downloaded 7.0 about 3 weeks ago. Once I switched from Classic to the Default skin about a week ago, however, I encountered the same behavior (every song on one player began 3-4 seconds after the other). At first I didn't get the connection. I tried a lot of different fixes, to no avail, when I remembered the timing of the skin change. That's been my amateur sleuthing answer as well-that the pausing of the music is primarily due to the server's processing of building the dynamic playlist in conjunction with building the album artwork, etc for the web interface. If you have problems with the Random Mix plugin, please register this as a bug report at bugs.slimdevices.com unless there already is one registered. Post the bug number here so I know which one to look for. I suspect the problem is when Dynamic Playlist or Random Mix plugins retrieves additional tracks to add to the playlist. This will take some time, Random Mix is a bit faster than most of the Dynamic Playlists, so that's probably why it works a bit better. I have no time to investigate this further at the moment, especially since I don't have an environment where I can reproduce the problem. However, if you register a bug report I'll look at the solution for Random Mix when it is fixed and try to apply the same to Dynamic Playlist. Another thing to test is if it works better if you empty the Number of old tracks tracks setting, this will show if the problem is related to the delay or if it is related to that tracks are removed from the playlist. i posted a message in the general discussion section about having sync problems between my slimp3 and my sb2 after upgrading to sc7 and I received a response from autopilot saying that it could be the last.fm plugin that is problematic. I removed the last.fm plugin and i did get improved sync but the real culprit seems to be the current beta version of dynamic playlists in conjunction with sql playlist. Here's my previous posting: so with the encouragement of another thread here recently talking about the improvements in synching players I decided to take the plunge and upgrade from 6.5.4 to sc7. All went well in upgrading the software and all of my plugins. But now I have introduced a whole new can of worms into my system. my system: Mac G4 running osx 10.4.10. comcast cable modem Buffalo whr-hp-g54 router sb2- wired slimp3 - wired into a netgear xe102 homeplug. (works consistently) with 6.5.4 my sb2 worked flawlessly. my slimp3 worked almost flawlessly with the occasional hiccup due to it's lacking a buffer. I could synch the two players but often times the sync would drift. now with 7.0.1 i have almost continuous sync problems between the two players as well as a new problem- recurring rebuffering in both players even when they are playing in a solo situation-although it seems to occur more on the slimp3 which i would expect. When the players are synched, I push play and there's a 5-10 second delay until music starts. Does the problem only occur if you are playing a playlist through the Dynamic Playlist plugin ? Does the problem happen in all dynamic playlists or just some of them ?
