Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty EQ using SOX

2022-04-12 Thread sparkyuk

After a bit of experimentation and looking at the transcoding logging
I've got this working...

I have two players I'm trying to work with - a Touch and a Topping
DX3Pro+ DAC/headphone amp. I want to apply room correction to the
former and [URL="https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq"]AutoEQ]
filters to the latter for my HD560S cans. I had this working for local
files using entries in custom-convert.conf but I also wanted to apply
the settings to music from Spotify via Spotty.

This is what I've ended up with;

# Parametric eq for HD 560S via DX3
flc flc * 00:1e:06:11:22:33
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=-r %d}

-1.90 equalizer 4133 1.190q -2.80 equalizer 10128 1.082q -2.30

Using the transcoding log I could see that Spotty was using a spt-flc
rule by default so I added one to override that for each player with sox
applying the filters and outputting in flac format.

One odd thing I did notice was that I needed *two spaces* between these
two options in the [spotty] command "--enable-volume-normalisation -n
Squeezebox" With only a single space the transcoding log showed the
resulting command as;

[22-04-12 07:13:14.7725]
Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::tokenizeConvertCommand2 (667) Using
command for conversion: TMPDIR=/config/cache/spotty
"/config/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/aarch64-linux/*spotty"-n
Squeezebox* ...

Note the lack of space between the " and - which resulted in an invalid
command line.

All working now though so thanks for the hints.

I tried this

spt flc * 00:1e:06:11:22:33
# RT:{START=--start-position %s}
[spotty] --enable-volume-normalisation -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$"
--single-track $FILE$ --disable-discovery --bitrate 320

44.1k -L - -t wav - gain -5.4 equalizer 20 0.88q +5.2 equalizer 1270

9542 1.79q +5.6 equalizer 180 1.59q -1.1 equalizer 6964 3.13q +0.9
equalizer 12134 2.1q +2.8 equalizer 14488 1.77q +1.4 equalizer 19665
0.44q -11.5 | [flac] -cs -0 --totally-silent --ignore-chunk-sizes -

Music plays but I don't see sox being run. I need to experiment some
more and figure out logging.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty EQ using SOX

2022-04-02 Thread foxesden

I revived the Inguz DSP plugin and considered using Sox as the DSP
engine. The plugin script creates a custom.conf and the entry for
spotify looks like this - us replace client id with the MAC id of your
player.

spt flc * $CLIENTID$
# RT:{START=--start-position %s}
[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $FILE$
--disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox]  -q -t raw -b
16 -e signed -c 2 -r 44.1k -L - -t wav  - | [$CONVAPP$] -id "$CLIENTID$"
-wav -wavo -d 24 | [flac] -cs -0 --totally-silent --ignore-chunk-sizes
-

This step is used the pipe input into Inguz itself which you could drop
and therefore end up with

spt flc * $CLIENTID$
# RT:{START=--start-position %s}
[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $FILE$
--disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox]  -q -t raw -b
16 -e signed -c 2 -r 44.1k -L - -t wav  - | [flac] -cs -0
--totally-silent --ignore-chunk-sizes -

I will leave you to hack around the sox step.

Hope this helps.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty EQ using SOX

2022-04-02 Thread sparkyuk

I've been experimenting with room correction and have some equalizer
settings that I'm applying to my local flac files using this in
custom-convert.conf;

flc flc * 00:04:20:23:22:28
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=-r %d}
[flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav - -t flac -C 0
- equalizer 33.05 15.592q -3.90 equalizer 46.20  8.260q -7.10 equalizer
156.5  31.778q -2.60 equalizer 186.0 6.673q -8.90 equalizer 272.0 3.499q
-5.40 equalizer 3120 1.190q -4.00

I would also like to apply the same sox processing to times played
through Spotty but I'm also unsure what the equivalent file types and
commands would be. Spotify uses OGG I believe but the stream process
appears to be this

config/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/aarch64-linux/spotty
--enable-volume-normalisation -n Squeezebox -c
/config/cache/spotty/989df7a4 --single-track
spotify://track:3CiM7fBGbaP6jiyuH2Ot4j --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery
--disable-audio-cache

Any pointers or examples appreciated.

   spt pcm * *
# RT:{START=--start-position %s}
[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320

equalizer 99.6 2.70q +3.6 equalizer 283 1.00q -2.9 -

I am no expert in these kinds of things. But the rule is for streaming
in PCM. But you're using "-t flc" (type = flac). That must be wrong.

I added the pipe to [SOX] in file
/mnt/data/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/custom-convert.conf.
I'm not sure if the input & output format to SOX should be flc or pcm
or something else. I tried a few different configurations (really just
guesses) and nothing plays.

Code:

  spt pcm * *
# RT:{START=--start-position %s}
[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320
--disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox] -q -t flc - -t flc
$RESAMPLE$ - equalizer 99.6 2.70q +3.6 equalizer 283 1.00q -2.9 -

Thanks. I saw a number of EQ posts. All were very helpful in getting
FLAC files EQ'd. Spotty looks a bit more complicated.
Please post what you tried. It might give us a clue about what you're
trying to do.

Does anyone have an example of using SOX to eq the Spotty plugin? I'm
trying to pipe the 'spt pcm * *' output (found in
/mnt/data/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/custom-convert.conf)
into SOX but not having much success. Has anyone tried this and has a
working example of what the custom-convert.conf looks like?
