Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SugarCube and MusicIP for music mixing
ok so now that I updated to 7.9.1 and I am looking at my log files in SSOTS a lot I see a ton of errors in musicip and spicefly. I am have my LMS installed on my NAS (QNAP 219P+). so conceptually I thought the way this worked is that MusicIP scanned your files and added a lot of additional information into the file to use for mixing. Then Spicefly uses that information to create mixes. Looks like my mixes are created randomly from the genre. I know I don't have music ip application installed on the qnap because I have already analyzed the music. Do I have to have the applicaiton the analyzed my music actually running and pointed to the LMS via the options? I thought just having MusicIP as a plugin and the music analyzed was good enough? 0417: Adding Track; The Bird 0416: [17-09-26 17:34:38.2093] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (659) 0415: Random Track Selected matching Current Playing Genre;R&B 0414: [17-09-26 17:34:38.2071] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (658) 0413: Insert into Database: Say Yes by Asha Puthli 0412: [17-09-26 17:34:37.9101] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::randompuller (492) 0411: Get Random Track but block Artist 0 plus 0 plus 0 0410: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8857] Plugins::SugarCube::Breakout::getRandom (20) 0409: Currently Playing Genre; R&B 0408: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8833] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::randompuller (489) 0407: Currently Playing; file:///share/Multimedia/Music/Anderson%20Paak/Malibu/01%20The%20Bird.flac 0406: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8812] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::randompuller (488) 0405: file:///share/Multimedia/Music/Anderson%20Paak/Malibu/01%20The%20Bird.flac 0404: LMS Reported Track Playing; 0403: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8763] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::randompuller (484) 0402: Keeping music playing requesting (from LMS) a Random Track matching the Current Playing Tracks Genre 0401: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8717] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (633) 0400: MUSICIP FAILED 0399: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8641] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (631) 0398: Check API Service is Running 0397: MUSICIP RETURNED NOTHING 0396: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8619] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (630) 0395: MUSICIP FAILED 0394: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8574] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::gotErrorContinue (627) 0393: 0392: http://localhost:10002/api/mix?&sizetype=tracks&size=15&song%3d%2Fshare%2FMultimedia%2FMusic%2FAnderson%20Paak%2FMalibu%2F01%20The%20Bird.flac&style=100&variety=5 0391: Built URL Request for MusicIP: 0390: [17-09-26 17:34:37.8447] Plugins::SugarCube::Plugin::ArrayLoop (667) 0389: file:///share/Multimedia/Music/Anderson%20Paak/Malibu/01%20The%20Bird.flac 0388: Insert into Database Playing Track: LMS 7.9.1 on QNAP 219P+ 3 wired Touch End Points Jolida Tube DAC III Marantz 2270 to Boston Acoustics Slimlines Marantz 7010 to B&W CM10 S2 dhallag's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30845 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106276 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Could it be that those 2% of your songs include non-ascii characters like äöåüßéèêç etc? MusicIP ignores those... *Server*: LMS 7.7.5 on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 *Players*: Radio, Touch, Duet (Receiver & Controller), Boom *Remote control apps*: iPeng (iOS), SqueezePad (iOS), Squeezecontroller (Android) *Important plugins*: Trackstat, Spicefly Sugarcube, Lazy Search Music, Switch Player, SmartMix, Custom Browse, Spotify (Logitech and Triode), Multi Library chaug's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47641 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106276 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So for example for the bedroom player, you could setup a filter and have it locked to more chilled genres and the kitchen player more towards classical genres. You can find more details on the settings here; http://www.spicefly.com/article.php?page=spicefly-sugarcube-settings Cheers www.spicefly.com - ** Spicefly SugarCube ** - A hassle free acoustic journey through your music library using MusicIP. MIP converts the music track it is analyzing to .wav internally then analyzes it. If the m4a spec changed since MIP development ceased then MIP probably can't convert it. You should be able to convert the m4a to mp3 at the same bit rate so you don't lose any more detail, then MIP will be able to analyze the track. Then you could even copy the MIP tags back to the m4a file using MP3Tag, a google search for "MP3Tag copy tag from file to file" gives a few options. A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. Thanks for responding. Yea I tried the above and no go. I think there is a thing with m4a files and others have had the same problem. I've started returning to FLAC and everything seems fine. Thanks again. I know people have problems with MixerIP taking so long to analyze and I know you said that MixerIP is "abandon-ware" but I tell ya, as long as you use SugarCube which is still being supported and updated, this works and works great, very customizable and therefore you can really tweak to make it hum, and it's not dependent on any web service which means it's future proof. dhallag's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30845 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106276 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SugarCube and MusicIP for music mixing
MIP analyzable tracks - could you list a few filenames of these tracks. MIP won't analyze tracks shorter than 10 seconds, and sometimes tracks with a "-" won't analyze either, e.g. The Beatles Ob-la-di, ob-la da unless you change the file name to Ob - la - di, in other words it needs a blank either side of the dash.. SugarCube will use the parameters that you set up in it for MIP although I usually set the MIP mix parameters the same in both MIP and SugarCube. As MIP is now "abandon-ware" , other than on the Spicefly sugarCube site there is no documentation. A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. [SlimDevices: Plugins] SugarCube and MusicIP for music mixing
So I have reverted back to the SugarCube and MusicIP combo for music mixing for the obvious reasons. Other than the occasional unanalyzable track (although I don't understand why I have so many - about 2% of my collection), I think it works pretty great as long as you have MusicIP analyze new tracks and all. But I do have a question. I noticed in the server settings, under player, there is a drop down for both MusicIP and Sugarcube per player. I have never done anything to change the settings on the MusicIP dropdown. Should I be updating settings here also? Also if there is a comprehensive page in settings this up, I would like to review. It seems there are setup bits and pieces scattered in many places and I find it challenging. Thanks much... darien dhallag's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30845 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106276 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
