Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM Radio Plugin with 7.5 dead

2010-04-11 Thread chenrikson

The main thing here is to find or create the install.xml file. I
couldn't find it on my computer, but was able to get it by downloading
the latest version of the XM plugin as posted by Neil P. Downloaded,
unzipped and copied into the plugins folder. Edited as outlined above
and all is well.

 Todd,

First you must put the XM plugin in username/library/application
support/squeezebox/plugins NOT plugin. Next, click on XM Radio file,
You will see Install.xml. Do a right click with your mouse on this
file. Click on Open with and choose TextEdit.app (If you not see in
the option TextEdit, click other and choose TextEdit and click open).
Change max version for :maxVersion7.5.*/maxVersion. Close the file
and the SB server and restart SB server. The XM plugin will work!

Enjoy and sorry about my english!

Mario,
I did what you said and now the plug in appears on the plug in tab of
the server settings, but it says plugin failed to load. The box is
checked off but it's also dimmed out so I cannot uncheck it.

Todd,

Have you the 3.5.1 version? If so, I would try this. Stop the SB
server. Take the XM folder in plugins file in your desktop. Restart the
SB server. You should not see XM in the Squeezebox server menu under
Internet Radio. Put once again the XM folder in the Plugins file. Stop
the SB server and restart once again. It should work.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM Radio Plugin with 7.5 dead

2010-04-08 Thread garym

Hmmm, I'm confused about making this edit. When I look for XM Radio
PLUGIN so I can then find the install.xml, I'm looking in the same
place where all my other plugins are located:

C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Slim\Plugin

But within this directory, I can't find XMRadio Plugin. Consequently, I
can't find the install.xml. What am I missing. And by the way, XM Radio
is working on my SbS just fine (7.4.2). So the plugin is there
(somewhere???).

On my Mac the plugins are in:

username/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins

so that's the place to find, unpack, and edit the install.xml file
revealed by that process.

When I've done this sort of thing, I've never bothered to pack the
files once again - the plugin works in the expanded form.

Ah - that probably means you installed it manually rather than via the
extension downloader. In that case try:

username/Library/Application Support/Squeezebox/Plugins/

note that's Plugins - not the plugin folder you found with the Prefs
file in it.

Is it there?

I shut down the server, made Neils change to install.xml in the Plugins
folder. Restarted the SB server and XM came up fine.

This is with the 7.5 server and radio firmware upgrades.
