Mea culpa. I had only recently received the Duet and Radio, and hadn't
realised that FF is done with the scroll wheel as opposed to
holding-down the key.

You can use the key as well. Press and hold until the position
indicator pops up, then release and press and hold it again. You can
then fast forward quickly and it is often easier than spinning the
wheel.

FFWD works for me but I find if you try to ffwd within the first about
30 secs of playing it will fail.

So when you try to FFWD wait about 30 secs after audio has started and
alsop make sure the buffering message has gone and see if that works.

1) Install Squeezebox server 7.4

2) Go to settings, plugins page

4) Click Apply and then follow instructions to restart the server

You should now get a BBCiPlayer entry in the Internet Radio menu

iPlayer 0.9 will need 7.4 to do fast forward unless you do it with a few
seconds of starting the stream. (I added something to 7.4 to allow it
to work)

However this does not explain not having the option to fast forward
from the user interface point of view - I would expect it to try and
fail to restart the stream.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer fast forward

2009-08-31 Thread Triode

There are two potential issues here:
1) Does the server know about the duration for a stream and hence think
it is seekable - this looks to be a problem in your case and I am not
sure I understand why with 0.9 as the debug clearly shows a duration
2) Can it restart a stream after seeking - this is the bit which needs
7.4 as the stream url changes for the aac streams every few seconds and
we need to fetch it again.

It sounds like 1) is your problem and I am not sure why - do you see a
duration on the web interface for the stream?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer fast forward

It looks as though this is related to an issue I have with iPlayer and
7.3.4.

On a program via AlienBBC, presses of Now Playing cycle through various
formats, included elapsed time, time remaining, and others.

Listening to the same program via iPlayer only offers two options to
cycle through, elapsed time and blank.

Although the trace looks like it knows the duration the web ui does and
hence I guess the squeezebox doesn't either.

I am seeing the same problem with AlienBBC if that helps.
