I am not familiare with Mint but a lot of Linux problem in this area related to permissions (e.g. access to audio devices)_ and membership of audio group. In the groups, the user running SC does not have the box checked for use audio devices, and I can't select it. If you can only record PC audio after a sudo then it is very likely a permission/group issue. In the groups, the user running SC does not have the box checked for use audio devices, and I can't select it. Why, and is that the (or an) issue at play here? Amendment - no we don't have sounds... I forgot to unplug the speaker from the headphone port. Opps. Funny mistake. If recording audio from the terminal looks like this }}} etc then yes, I seem to be able to record audio just with arecord without sudo. Maybe I'm just loading the wrong URL. I'm typing in wavin:default. You should record to a file and then playback the file to make you recorded the correct audio feed.
