Have tried this numerous times with no luck. Finally, downloaded and
installed XCode from Appstore and ran the commands as stated. Lots of
error messages, but after the command were finished, I restarted the
Squeezecenter 7.5.4 and VOILA!!!

See BBCiPlayer when playing a live program. Scrolling on the top line

Hi Michael,

I'm trying to get the name of an iPlayer plugin programme ("BBC Radio
2") on to the MusicInfoScr display, but am having problems.

When "TITLE" is selected as the bottom left element, it displays this
correctly, as expected, but when it's the top left element, it displays
"NOW PLAYING".

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Joel

Top right: CURRTIME

Bottom right: NOTESYMBOL

2011-01-10 Thread christian

I recently installed the Album Review and Biography plugins on a QNAP
TS-119 NAS running SBS 7.6.0. Both plugins are working beautifully (I
used the MHCPAN.zip files from Michael's site to obtain the
HTML::FormatText and HTML::Parse modules). There is just one little
glitch: the TITLE - ARTIST - ALBUM information on the Now Playing
screen of the SB3 in my living room is interrupted every second or so
by the following message: "Album Review - Gathering information...".
Any idea how to turn that off?

My setup:

Album Review v2.9.3

Version: 7.6.0 - r31707 @ Fri Jan 7 03:06:22 MST 2011
Hostname: QNAP TS-119
Perl Version: 5.10.0 - armv5tel-linux-thread-multi

Player Model: Squeezebox Classic
Firmware: 135

Best regards,
Christian

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] michael hergers plug-ins

2009-09-30 Thread history

Is the above the correct combination? when I follow the link from
Michael's homepage I get to SqeezeboxCenter 7.3; the new version has
been renamed to Sqeezeboxerver; the download of the slimnas installation
script leads to the same version as previous 7.1+ version; is this
correct? when I run the installation script, it does complete
successfully, as the Squeezecenter plugin menu is shown in the FreeNAS
menu, but on the page of this plug, bottom part, it says "Status
(SlimNAS Version v1.3.0)", where I would expect version 1.4.99 as shown
on page of Michael. And the installation of SqueezeBoxServer
7.4.0-28672-noCPAN does not work, si I expect I have the wrong version
of slimnas installed?

thanks for your advice,

The pre-requisites for SC are simple: OSX 10.3+, Windows 2000+. Nothing
else required.

BUT: some 3rd party extensions (and mine still are 3rd party, even though
I'm now a Logitech employee) might require a bit more work. Then it's up
to its author to sort these issues out with his users. The plugins you
mentioned are not even on the "recommended 3rd party extensions" list we
ship with SC. There's a reason why :-/.

sudo is different in that there is no real "superuser" account but you
use your normal account and increase privileges.
If you want to run several commands in a row the workaround is "sudo

Here's the latest:
the assumption is that I can't build HTML::FormatText because I don't
have YAML.
I can't build YAML because I don't have 'make'. I"m guessing that not
having 'make' is the real reason for not being able to build
FormatText.

In order to get the make command you have to register as a developer,
download a near 800Mb file and run the 15 min installer.

Now that I have all the pieces assembled, I still can't build YAML

Code:

All tests successful, 3 tests and 17 subtests skipped.
  Files=36, Tests=446,  6 wallclock secs ( 4.92 cusr +  0.64 csys =  5.56 CPU)

And I still can't build HTML:FormatText

Code:

I've just bounced the Squeezecenter server in case it magically fixed stuff
and it didn't.

I know you guys are working hard at delivering a kick ass system, but you
might want to re-think your pre-requisites list - asking the average home user
to register as an Apple developer and play with the Terminal is not a road to

My bad, I see it there... For some reason I thought these links were
available from the expanded Album and Artist Views of the Web UI.

Why is it required that a player be connected in order to access this
information?

Btw, I'm still getting the deprecated function warning messages in the

plugins. I was told in another thread that these messages were harmless
and that they will eventually be fixed by the plugins' authors when the
plugins are updated to work with SQLite builds.

Using today's SC 7.4 SQLite Build 27724 both Album Review and Biography
are working again, but only from the icons on the Home page of the Web
UI while a track from the specific album is playing. I think there used
to be links to Album Review and Biography from the expanded Album Views
of all the albums even while there were not playing. I don't see those
links there anymore. Did I miss something or did I dream about those
links in the expanded Album View?

What versions are you using and on what environment? I'm running the

Hi. I'm on Version: 7.3.3 - 27044 @ Mon Jun 15 15:14:08 PDT 2009
Using Music Information Screen 4.4.2 as my now playing screensaver,
which is all kinds of awesome!
However, I can't get the track description to scroll. I'm probably
being daft, but any hints? Note they scroll fine while browsing music
library and the traditional "now playing".

Thanks!

I'm sorry, no, this is not possible. But you can select it from the track

Thanks for this plug-in, really useful! Just to check that I have
installed it correctly. If I go into SC and play an album, I then need
to go back to Home/Extras and select Album Review to get the text. Is
it possible to have the review show up automatically when an album is
played without going back to Extras and clicking on it.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm... should probably put it back there for compatibility reasons. Nice thing
in the trackinfo menu is you can call it on any track in your collection. The
one in Extras will only search for the currently playing item.

Under Extras, like it appears in the Squeezecenter, but I prefer it
where it is on the controller. But how would I know that without
searching thru the forum looking for documentation. When I didn't see
the your plugin under extras, I assumed it disn;t install properly...

Plugin documentation describing how they work seems to be sparse or
hard to find. For instance, I can't tell which display-related plugins,
including your musicscr work on older players and not the controller.

FYI - Rhapsody album info works on SC but not the controller (I'm not
complaining here, just letting you know)

Thanks,
Mark

Greetings,

I tried the same thing but nothing on the controller ..

I unzipped the mhcpan into the plugin subdirectory, moved the files and
subfolders up into D:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\MHCPAN.

I unzipped albumreview into: D:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\AlbumReview-2.6.0\AlbumReview

Restarted the server and restarted the controller.

The plugin works fine on SC, but not the controller. Is is supposed to
appear under extras on the controller? Am I using an old version?

Thanks,
Mark

Had the exact same problem. Found that it was an error installing
MHCPAN. Check the install. I DL'ed to my desktop and extracted to the
desktop then used drag and drop to put it in my plugins.
C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\MHCPAN
There should be a total of 2 folders and one file.
Have you stopped Squeezecenter? With a lot of the plugins you have to
stop in order for the plugin to function. Would also reset the
controller by taking the battery out for a few minutes.
Hope you get it working. These plugins are two of my favorites.

I tried this again. What you're seeing imho is exactly what you'd get without
that module. Are you on Windows? Does Plugins/MHCPAN have subfolders auto and
