She knows her side is losing the culture war. And as far as I know, it is
the "loving" Christian fundamentalists who are threatening to use lethal
force to show their solidarity with Phil Robertson:

GLAAD: Lethal Enforcers of the Left's Tolerance Mob

"Duck Dynasty's" Phil Robertson is not alone. He's the latest in a long,
long lineup of politically incorrect targets of the left's sensitivity mob.
Founded in 1985, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD)
gangstas won't stop until both the cultural and legal enforcement of their
agenda are the norm.

The A&E network (Atheists & Elitists) suspended the reality TV patriarch
and self-made businessman on Wednesday for the Biblical views he expressed
in an interview with GQ. Robertson was asked by the liberal magazine what
he viewed as sinful. Drawing on the condemnation of sexual immorality in
Corinthians 6:9, he cited "adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes,
the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the
swindlers -- they won't inherit the kingdom of God."

Robertson's punishable transgressions? Responding honestly to a question
posed to him (this was not an unsolicited "anti-gay rant"; it was a
response) and abiding by his Christian faith. GLAAD's P.C. Praetorian Guard
sprung into repressive action. The same group that initially gave
f-word-spouting, homophobic liberal Alec Baldwin a pass accused Robertson
of uttering "some of the vilest and most extreme statements" against "LGBT
people" ever. (They should listen to the Koran-inspired executioners' rants
of gay-hanging and gay-stoning Iranian mullahs sometime.) GLAAD also railed
against Robertson's "vile" preference for female anatomy over male as if it
were an international human rights violation.

A&E folded faster than a stadium seat, immediately disavowing Robertson and
suspending him from his family's show indefinitely. Meanwhile, network
execs continued to cash in on the lucrative "Duck Dynasty" empire with a
marathon of program reruns on the very day they threw Robertson under the
bus. The network is free to do that, of course. And I am free to tell you
all about the radical thugs that A&E indulged.

GLAAD has worked tirelessly to marginalize and suppress the free speech of
Christian leaders, Christian businesses and conservative talk-radio hosts
dating back to their infamous Dr. Laura boycott 13 years ago. The group's
mission is not about equality or defending against "defamation." It's about
silencing critics, making open debate radioactive, demonizing people of
faith and making even the slightest perceived slight a hate crime.

Last year, GLAAD speech-squelchers issued a blacklist of 34 Christian
commentators they wanted networks to ban from their air for "extreme" views
(read: opposing gay marriage). Earlier this year, GLAAD attacked the
National Geographic Channel for partnering with the traditional
values-promoting Boy Scouts on a reality TV program. GLAAD is free to start
its own Gay Scouts, but instead chose to harangue NatGeo for refusing to
run a "disclaimer" at the beginning of each show condemning the Boy Scouts'
leadership policies.

It's not enough to live and let live. You must repent and genuflect before
the self-serving gods of selective progressivism. That's why GLAAD forgave
Hollywood director Brett Ratner for using the word "fag." He was allowed
back into the protected Hollywood club after submitting to GLAAD
reeducation camp and appearing in GLAAD public service announcements. Bill
Clinton, who authored both the Defense of Marriage Act and the "Don't Ask,
Don't Tell" policies so reviled by the homosexual lobby, ended up receiving
a GLAAD "Advocate for Change" award earlier this year -- for changing his
mind when politically expedient.

For the civility police, the operational motto is always: "Do as we say,
not as we do, in the name of social justice. Amen."

In the 1960s, radical philosopher Herbert Marcuse popularized the
"repressive tolerance" theory of modern progressives. "Liberating tolerance
would mean intolerance against movements from the right and toleration of
movements from the left," Marcuse pontificated. "Certain things cannot be

Session 18. Introduction by Yaqub Mirza

Doctoral thesis presentation by Mohammad El-Sanousi

“American Law: Integrating Ultra-Traditional Muslims Through
Accommodations”

The dissertation deals with the disastrous consequences of the “Muslim
Tablighi Jamaat of Arabi, Louisiana” opting out of insurance before
Hurricane Katrina and the necessity of legal accommodations to allow them
to obtain “Shariah-compliant” (takâful) insurance.

The Hasidic Jews following Lobovich, mainly in Brooklyn, are similar to
the Tablighi Jamaat in their isolation. I look at the history of insurance
in America and the communitarian element. I look at the incompatibility of
commercial insurance with “Shariah compliance” and the passage of the
“Takaful Act.” I than ask what are the regulatory impediments. Insurance
regulations are at the state level, which makes it easier to reform the
system. The chapter on the legal structure is very lengthy and deals with
religious freedom issues and the challenges of implementing the free
exercise clause. There are legal accommodations, monetary accommodations,
and permissive accommodations and limits on the accommodation. Despite
these, we face implementation problems. I conclude that America is well
prepared to accommodate religious groups of diverse traditions such as the
Tablighi Jamaat.

I am specifically asking for accommodation in state laws by the insurance
interpreting the law to permit takâful or else for legislators to amend
the laws accordingly.

Hisham Altalib: Shariah has become a dirty word to the American public.
What two sentences would you give the American public to reassure them?

Senusi: They think Shariah is about beheadings and stoning—

Imad-ad-Dean Ahmad: –and burkas!

Senusi: Shariah should not be understood as something to be imposed on
everybody. Even in the Muslim world there are many rights granted to
people of other faiths.

Aisha Musa: Newt Gingerich is asking for a federal law that would prohibit
what you are asking for. Gingerich’s call has been roundly condemned, but
do you see a danger they may succeed?

Senusi: For a short while they will succeed, as they initially did against
Islamic finance, but in the long run, because of the way this country is
built, we will succeed. Not along ago I was asked would there ever be
hijab the military, we have that right now.

Ahmad: You should be more specific as to what the legal obstacles are and
what is required to remedy them.

Senusi: Letter 885 gives banks permission to engage in murâbiha or
mudârabi.

Mirza: Mutual banking is already allowed, we only need interpretation to
allow the investments.

Barzinji: This is as much a challenge for us as Muslims as to the states.
We greatly admire the fact that we were given accommodation in financing
homes Islamicly. I don’t see what changes are required. Is the only change
needed to allow mutual banks to engage in professionally managed Shariah
compliance financing? How can we do this without permitting reinsurance?

Senusi: By law you must have auto insurance. Tablighi Jamaat take that,
but not property and casualty, which are optional. In comparing the laws
of Texas and Virginia, we find the former more difficult, so we should
establish it first in Virginia. Their argument against insurance is that
they must rely on Allah (tawâkul).

Ayoub: In what way is insurance any less compliant with Shariah than going
to a doctor?

Libertarian National Convention to be held May 29-31 in St. Louis

WASHINGTON - The Libertarian Party (LP) will hold its National Convention in
St. Louis from Saturday, May 29, through Monday, May 31.

The convention will take place at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis.
The press is welcome to attend.

Information about the convention, including the schedule, is available at the
convention website . The convention has
been titled "Gateway to Liberty."

Additional meetings and related events will occur on May 27 and 28.

Unlike the Democratic and Republican parties, the Libertarian Party holds a
national convention every two years. At this convention, delegates from
around the country will be amending the party's platform and bylaws, and
will elect officers and other members to the Libertarian National Committee.

One of the highlights of the convention will be the hotly contested election
to replace outgoing Chairman William Redpath. Five Libertarians have
declared their candidacies in that race.

Redpath commented, "We're seeing tremendous voter antipathy toward the
Democratic and Republican parties. This is shaping up to be an exciting year
for the Libertarian Party."

Currently, there are 632 Libertarian candidates declared for the November 2
elections, including 172 candidates for U.S. Congress. A list of candidates
may be viewed here.

Among the speakers at the convention will be Bob Barr, the LP's 2008
presidential nominee.

For more information, or to arrange an interview, call LP Executive Director
Wes Benedict at 202-333-0008 ext. 222.

The LP is America's third-largest political party, founded in 1971. The
Libertarian Party stands for free markets and civil liberties. You can find
more information on the Libertarian Party at our website .

This is a government of thugs, that survives with the support of the
Peoples Republic of China. Unfortunately they may also be sitting on,

be as much a curse as anything else.

BANGKOK .Six months after a devastating cyclone hit Myanmar, more than a
million people are still living in misery, wondering when things will return
to normal.

In remote areas along the coastline, villages still receive only
intermittent food assistance, according to community workers in the area.
Thousands of people are living in makeshift shelters and there are growing
concerns about fresh water throughout the cyclone-affected Irrawaddy Delta
to the west of Myanmar's main commercial city, Yangon.

Furthermore, international human rights groups have reported an increase in
forced labour, forced relocations and extensive land confiscation by the
country's military authorities. Nearly 100 community workers who tried to
help with the disaster relief efforts are languishing in jail, including
Zargana, a comedian and an outspoken critic of the country's rulers.

Many children have returned to school, farmers are anxiously waiting to see
how their harvest fares and more houses are being built every week, aid
workers said. But it will take years before the delta returns to anything
like it was.
The UN's World Food Programme estimates it will have to continue to provide
food aid to nearly a million people well into next year, said Chris Kaye,
the head of its operations in Myanmar. "We are very confident that we are
reaching all those presently in need of food assistance on a regular basis."

The situation varies from place to place throughout the devastated area,
said Ashley Clements, the head of the local branch of World Vision, an
international non-governmental organisation. "We're at a turning point now –
and attention has to be paid to the longer term, especially providing safe
havens for children and secure livelihoods for the people who were left with
nothing."
In the past few weeks, one in three villagers interviewed by World Vision
researchers in some of the worst affected areas, said they had been forced
to reduce the number of meals they ate per day because of a lack of food.

Up to 30 per cent of children between five and 11 years are not enrolled in
school, while more than half of children aged 12 to 17 were not attending
school, according to the World Vision report.
The most critical issue is the approaching rice harvest. While the UN's
Forestry and Agriculture Organisation predicts a good, if not bumper,
harvest, the farmers are less sanguine. "We will have to wait for the next
planting season," said a villager in one of the cyclone-affected areas. "We
don't expect much from this one."

Myanmar's community groups working in the area believe the whole Irrawaddy
area – the rice bowl of Myanmar and once of all Asia – will produce less
than 60 per cent of its usual output, and the yield will be significantly
affected by the hastily prepared fields, many still not properly drained of
salt water.
For many villagers, shelter and clean water remain a constant worry. "An
acute shortage of drinking water is the biggest concern," a Myanmar activist
said after a recent visit to his home in the Delta.

Fewer than 40 per cent of the ponds used by villagers to collect rain water
for drinking have been cleansed of salt water, according to a community
group working in the area. In three key areas, less than two thirds of
people interviewed by World Vision reported having access to safe and clean
drinking water.
As many as a million people are still living in makeshift or temporary
shelters, aid workers said.

"What is true is that every week, more and more people are able to leave
their temporary shelter and move into newly built accommodation," said
Bridget Gardner, the head of the International Federation of Red Crosses and
Red Crescent Societies in Yangon.

Many of the cyclone survivors are suffering from trauma. According to the
World Vision survey, more than 70 per cent of children are afraid of wind
and rain since the disaster in May. "Farmers are reporting that their
buffaloes are traumatised and still suffering six months later," Mr Clements
said. "So you can only imagine the impact the ordeal is having on the
children."
As efforts turn from emergency relief to long-term reconstruction, how much
the international community has overpaid because of the government's
insistence on maintaining its artificially fixed exchange rate is coming to
light.

"I estimate the UN lost at least $5 million due to the initial enforcement
of the Foreign Exchange Certificates – pocketed by the junta through the
government-owned Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank," said Sean Turnell, an expert
on Myanmar's economy and financial system.
The UN's decision to pay local contractors in foreign currency would lead to
more corruption t

JUST WHO IS THIS GUY?--- FOLLOW THE MONEY

"Senator Obama is running on an image that is directly the opposite of what
he has been doing for two decades. His escapes from his past have been as
remarkable as the great escapes of Houdini. "
-Thomas Sowell 10-7-08

Cherche la femme (follow the woman) the French advise when looking for who
is behind a scandal. For Americans in this election period it should
be *Cherche
Le Moolah* - follow the money, especially all those bucks that have
fortuitously adhered to Barack Obama's exchequer throughout his mysterious
past.

Begin with this, which a reader gleaned from perusing Wikipedia,
encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama
visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The
Times May 10, 2008.

"Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very
open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was
wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply
himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name he used all his life)
during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid,
both from Pakistan.

"During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a
'round the world' trip, stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next
Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with
his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family." Who
financed this costly world tour?

On his return, he stopped being Barry and became Barack, and went to
Columbia University where tuition is anything but cheap. Who paid it? After
Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. A
year. "Why Chicago? " the reader asked. "Why not New York? He was already
living in New York."

There he hooked up with Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, recently convicted on fraud and
bribery charges. Rezko was born in Aleppo Syria and was named 'Entrepreneur
of the Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association'.

Two or so years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Talk about
expensive tuition! Who paid the tuition? After completing law school, he
went back to Chicago where Rezko offered him a job. He turned it down to
work for, Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland which had connections with
'Rezar' Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial
contributors when he ran for office in Chicago.

In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune
reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with
'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home
in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking
price). Where
did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita,
purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported
that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three
weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many
times with Rezko.

Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss and is now Obama's chief advisor
and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where
was Jarrett born? Shiraz, Iran !

Guess who's in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign contributions
for Obama. According to my reader, none other than his two college roommates
from Pakistan: Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid.

Now let's follow the moolah a bit further. Writing in the Toledo Blade
'Hunting Mr. Good Will. WHO is 'Will, Good'? On October 4, 2008, columnist
Jack Kelly revealed that a Mr. Good Will - who Kelly says lists his employer
as "Loving" and his profession as "You" - has contributed an astounding
1,000 times to the Barack Obama campaign, all in amounts of $25 or less
which add up to $17,375 - far more than the legal limit of $4,600 or $2,300
each for the primary and general election campaigns.

1000 times !

Kelly notes that Kenneth Timmerman, my fellow NewsMax columnist discovered
Mr. Good Will after checking *no less* than 1.4 million individual
