Here's an update to net/dnsmasq.

I sent this diff to the maintainer more than one 20 days ago,
he said he was still interested in maintaining the port. However it
seems he totally forgot about it, as happened with the latest update
(2.31).

So, I thought it would be better to submit the following diff since I'm
still using it daily:
http://openbsd-pt.com/ports/dnsmasq-2.3.5.diff

the diff removes a patch added by pvalchev@ to compile with
gcc2 since I was able to build it on sparc (2.95.3). Please test.

Works for me on sparc, sparc64, amd64 and i386.

dejavu -- we had this some time ago. Do you have the latest -current
or snapshots running?

BTW, i've some success with the following WANTLIB and LIB_DEPENDS:

WANTLIB=X11 atk-1.0 c m pthread z \
fontconfig freetype \
glib-2.0 gmodule-2.0 gobject-2.0 gthread-2.0 \
pango-1.0 pangoft2-1.0 pangocairo-1.0 cairo \

poppler.>=1,poppler-glib.>=1::print/poppler

However, this still reports an extra poppler.1 -- and a quick check
on graphics/evince gives an extra ssl.11. Looks like a bug.

I've run into the same thing but haven't yet had the time to sit down
and really dig deep into it. I just upped the openfiles-max as well and
every so often go in and kill all the imap processes (single user IMAP
server, so it's not a real big deal). Someone said that 1.0rc15 has
fixed this. The question I have is, why is the dovecot port version
lagging so far behind? Is there some known incompatability with later
versions? Perhaps we should contact the maintainer?

I'd also like a better solution than I have at the moment. Because
dovecot was trashing the associated mail processes (amavisd, postfix)
because it was using up too many open files, I opted to manually build
an upgrade package to the -current version of dovecot (1.0rc15).

Obviously, this is an unsupported solution and I don't really like being
here. Is the ulimit method preferred? I don't understand that system
very well, and was under the assumption that it would simply hide the
symptoms of broken software in this case -- dovecot might simply expand
to fill the more lenient login.conf constraints, but take longer to get
there.

Any ideas? Anyone else seeing c2s spike at 100% CPU on an almost

All this is now several months ago, but i dimly recall we saw
jabberd2 processes eating most of the CPU, too, though it never
got as bad as locking up the system (PIII 635MHz, 256 MD RAM).

It's actually _just_ the c2s process taking all the CPU. Killing the
jabberd perl wrapper script kills all processes and then jabberd can be
restarted.

I'm still sure about the following: When killing the processes
holding the leaked file descriptors, the CPU did go to 100% for
several seconds, and during that time, the system was not
responsive. But in all cases, the processes finally died off
and released all resourced they held.

The system was never unresponsive. Only jabber. At first it was only
new connections, but then even established connections seemed not to be
able to chat.

I've applied your patch to the 4.0 port, rebuild and re-installed.

Looks good to me (on amd64). I'm glad they zapped the FIFO code..which
was only causing seg. faults and lock ups.

Though I see no point in keeping the vte flavor, why not enable vte by

Cheers,
Jasper

It would be much easier if you could just port a unified diff against
the port in -current.
