Also: * Native make now works fine so don't use gmake. * Disable storing of plaintext passwords for all servers in the system-wide 'servers' config file, instead of disabling storage of all kinds of passwords in the system-wide 'config' config file. The new store-plaintext-passwords=no option, which has existed since 1.6.0, overrides a yes/no prompt which subversion now usually presents before storing passwords in plaintext. gnome-keyring stores passwords encrypted. * Update the main DESCR to reflect current reality. * Add a patch which fixes a broken regression test in the ruby bindings which accidentally slipped into 1.6.5 release. * Put the gnome-keyring subpackage into REGRESS_DEPENDS to make auth-test pass (it loads DSOs at runtime and can't find them if the gnome-keyring subpackage isn't installed). Tested on i386 by me and alek@, on i386/amd64 by steven@, and on sparc64 by Edd Barrett. ok steven@

About apache vulnerability updates applied to ports on stable branch
Hello, In regards to OPENBSD_4_5http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/ports/www/apache-httpd/Makefile?only_with_tag=OPENBSD_4_5. Since the update for 2.2.9 CVSweb reports: Tue Sep 22 2009 apache-httpd (stable branch) was updated to 2.2.9 due to fixes on CVE-2008-2364 and CVE-2007-6420 Sun Jun 28 2009 there was a commit for apache-httpd update to 2.2.11 due to fixes on CVE-2008-2939 On the other hand, http://httpd.apache.org/security/vulnerabilities_22.htmlreports many more vulnerabilities for 2.2.9, and 2.2.11 ( see below). Does it mean that these vulnerabilities where not patched when 2.2.9 was live, and are neither patched with 2.2.11 now hence they are not mentioned in the commits? Thank you Daniel __ important: mod_proxy reverse proxy DoS CVE-2009-1890 A denial of service flaw was found in the mod_proxy module when it was used as a reverse proxy. A remote attacker could use this flaw to force a proxy process to consume large amounts of CPU time. Update Released: 27th July 2009 Affects: 2.2.11, 2.2.9, 2.2.8, 2.2.6, 2.2.5, 2.2.4, 2.2.3, 2.2.2, 2.2.0 __ low: mod_deflate DoS CVE-2009-1891 A denial of service flaw was found in the mod_deflate module. This module continued to compress large files until compression was complete, even if the network connection that requested the content was closed before compression completed. This would cause mod_deflate to consume large amounts of CPU if mod_deflate was enabled for a large file. Update Released: 27th July 2009 Affects: 2.2.11, 2.2.9, 2.2.8, 2.2.6, 2.2.5, 2.2.4, 2.2.3, 2.2.2, 2.2.0 __ low: AllowOverride Options handling bypass CVE-2009-1195 A flaw was found in the handling of the Options and AllowOverride directives. In configurations using the AllowOverride directive with certain Options= arguments, local users were not restricted from executing commands from a Server-Side-Include script as intended. Update Released: 27th July 2009 Affects: 2.2.11, 2.2.9, 2.2.8, 2.2.6, 2.2.5, 2.2.4, 2.2.3, 2.2.2, 2.2.0 _ moderate: APR-util off-by-one overflow CVE-2009-1956 An off-by-one overflow flaw was found in the way the bundled copy of the APR-util library processed a variable list of arguments. An attacker could provide a specially-crafted string as input for the formatted output conversion routine, which could, on big-endian platforms, potentially lead to the disclosure of sensitive information or a denial of service. Update Released: 72th 2009 Affects: 2.2.11, 2.2.9, 2.2.8, 2.2.6, 2.2.5, 2.2.4, 2.2.3, 2.2.2, 2.2.0 __ moderate: APR-util XML DoS CVE-2009-1955 A denial of service flaw was found in the bundled copy of the APR-util library Extensible Markup Language (XML) parser. A remote attacker could create a specially-crafted XML document that would cause excessive memory consumption when processed by the XML decoding engine. Update Released: 27th July 2009 Affects: 2.2.11, 2.2.9, 2.2.8, 2.2.6, 2.2.5, 2.2.4, 2.2.3, 2.2.2, 2.2.0 _ moderate: APR-util heap underwrite CVE-2009-0023 A heap-based underwrite flaw was found in the way the bundled copy of the APR-util library created compiled forms of particular search patterns. An attacker could formulate a specially-crafted search keyword, that would overwrite arbitrary heap memory locations when processed by the pattern preparation engine. Best way to compile specific php5-extensions. Flavors or Subpackages?
Hello, In the past I have compiled the php5-extensions from stable by simply doing: cd /usr/ports/www/php5/extensions; make; make install Then, once the packages where generated using pkg_add to install the package from /usr/ports/packages/i386/all/ However, i noticed that before I actually did this final step the make was actually installing the dependancies of every single extensions (lots of them). Leads to want to install only the following extensions: php5-bz2 php5-curl php5-gd php5-gmp php5-mbstring php5-mcrypt php5-mhash php5-mysql php5-shmop Questions: a.) Iam confused with subpackages and flavors. Which method should apply to accomplish what I want? If its the flavors then.. Iam expected to feed it the packages I dont want ? Like: env FLAVOR=-dba -dbase -imap -ldap -mhash -ncurses -odbc -pdo_pqsql -pdo_sqlite -pqsql -pspell -sqlite -sybase_ct -xsl make package b.) What is the use of the informational package php5-extensions? Thanks David

[NEW]: compiz
it's pretty much done. the only missing bit from my pov could be a README.OpenBSD, where configuration and running is explained (anyone wants to write it?). for now it can be configured by doing: gconftool-2 -s /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins [gconf, decoration, wobbly, minimize, png, cube, switcher, move, resize, place, rotate, zoom, scale, dbus, water] -t list --list-type=string and started with: gtk-window-decorator compiz --indirect-rendering gconf gtk-window-decorator is not necessary but will provide a simple window decoration. i've emerald (a more flexible window decorator with themes) working and packing fine as well, but i want to take another look before i post it here. my idea is to have: x11/compiz/{ccsm,compizconfig-python,core,emerald,libcompizconfig} other plugins will live within x11/compiz. any comments regarding the structure? i'd like to commit it (assuming there are no objections with the port itself) and finish it in the tree. f.- compiz-core.tgz Description: application/tar-gz
