Having to grep ones FTP mirror or download the entire ports tree to do a make

You can really tell that the author of that script has no idea what they

It won't run without a 3rd party package, and requires a second 3rd
party package to bootstrap itself.

Off-by-one Bug in IGMP proxy

2013-06-07 Thread Joseph Walsh
Hello,

Recently we did a static code analysis of the IGMP proxy
code, and we believe we've found a bug in one of the modules. We'd like to
send the fix upstream; please find attached our patch for the bug.

The bug is a problem with memory management on line 244 of the config.c
module. A buffer is allocated that is always one byte too small for the data
that is placed in it.

Thanks for your work with the IGMP proxy.

Regards,

Joe Walsh

Perhaps you were building as root? Try building as a normal user as per
 the faq.

AFAIK, in general, 'make build' should not be runnning install(1).

Here's an updated diff. Hopefully better than the last one.

I've added patch to exclude build-stamp, help.doc and TAGS
from installation. They didn't seem to contribute anything to the port. I also
returned the TAGS handling to Makefile.

The build works for me without root on amd64.
One thing I noticed was excessive warnings when compiling libraries with
quicklisp:
/tmp/eclinitJ01vbM.c:52:2: warning: no newline at end of file
/tmp/eclinitZq9PmO.c:52:2: warning: no newline at end of file
...

Seems that the ecl generates some temp files which doesn't include the newline
causing gcc to emit warnings. Haven't been able to pin point the file
generation yet.

Thanks; but did you test if the update to 1.2.18.0 doesn't break your
 existing stuff?
I ask because the log below doesn't indicate 1.2.18.0.

that's why I'd better supply as much info as possible: to give others a
chance to compensate my silliness. Thanks for compensating!

(I thought this was already commited and distributed via
snapshot-packages; but commiting before testing is not the OpenBSD-way
:-)

What I did:

1) cd /usr
2) env CVSROOT=anon...@mirror.osn.de:/cvs cvs -q \
 -danon...@mirror.osn.de:/cvs update -PdA ports
3) cd ports/mail/mlmmj
4) patch /path/to/your/patch.diff
5) make install
6) pkg_info|grep mlmmj
   mlmmj-1.2.18.0 mailing list manager

Testing shows:

smtpd[7644]: delivery: TempFail for cf9902b18b56b406:
  from=x...@xxx.xx, to=y...@yyy.yy, user=foobar, method=mda,
  delay=1m20s, stat=Error (/bin/sh: /usr/local/bin/mlmmj-recieve: not
  found)

I did a quick workaround by ``ln -s mlmmj-receive mlmmj-recieve''
because this path is hard coded in each and every mailinglist
directory's .forward(5).

Does this justify a current.html entry?

After that it gave another error:
/usr/local/bin/mlmmj-process[15183]: mlmmj-process.c:828: Found To:
  y...@yyy.yy: Undefined error: 0

BUT I got my moderation request none the less and after accepting the
message it was distributed and appeared in the archive directory.

Some cron driven mlmmj-maintd runs have already taken place and returned
ok.

Five test runs have now been ok (with the above workaround and each with
the ``Found To:'' error).

Thanks for your work!

I just deleted it and lsof built. Something in kde4 (qt4, I believe)
wants it, so now my make package of kde4 can continue.

BTW, excellent timing with your fix... you sent it within *minutes* of

It still tries to parse the ports tree by hand, instead of using any number
of correct solutions like sqlports or dump-vars, so they get details wrong.

You will end up with missing packages, erroneous flavor/subpackage
combinations, missing categories, etc.

Just to make the point: they don't try to figure out DESCR-* from the
ports tree.

So go look at gcc: they don't have *any* DESCR. Why ? because the DESCR*
comes from the lang/gcc directory thx to a Makefile.inc.

Or net/avahi, which comes from a handful of multi-packages, but mostly
pseudo-flavors that command the existing flavors... well.

Som of the most useful information, such as knowing whether a port is
currently BROKEN, or some subpackage only exists for some arches, or
won't be available as a binary package because of restrictions, is downright
missing.

The packing-list information is also pretty much useless, seeing as it's
viewed in src form before variable substitution, nor does it include ANY
fragments.

it *could* interface to pkglocatedb and provide a search by file.

There's a list of MASTER_SITES, but it does not even show the HOMEPAGE (which
is often WAYS more useful).

... nor does it include MASTER_SITES0-9, but then you knew I was going
to say that.

just go read the statistics: it says 6889 packages.
my latest bulk built... 8141 packages.

Well, the only thing it has that ports-readmes doesn't is explicit cvs
history...

Cant we whack lsof instead so that it doesnt try to reach non-public
 includes in /sys ? Also, do you have an up2date src/sys ?

I had (and still have) a diff back from 2010, but IIRC, pvalchev@
complained (and was right complaining). I'll try to find the mails
from those days.

THREE NEW: games/solarus games/zsdx games/zsxd

2013-06-07 Thread Brian Callahan

Hi ports --

Attached are three new ports: games/solarus, games/zsdx, and games/zsxd.
Solarus is a 2D Zelda-like game engine coded in C++ and runs games
scripted in Lua.
ZSDX is the flagship game of the Solarus engine, a fan made sequel to
the SNES game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

ZSXD is a parody Zelda game, also using the Solarus engine.

Works for me on amd64. Does not work on macppc - see the comment in the
solarus Makefile.

OK?

~Brian
