Re: moving sudo to ports

2015-06-20 Thread Theo de Raadt
Is there a timeline for the sudo-doas transition? The sudo port could
 be imported early, I'd say.

I think we should create the gap, first.

I am not positive if doas is exactly the right path replacement. I
still wish there was some sort of privsep for the parsing. And about
whether this should be built into su (result being one careful setuid
binary, rather than two). First versions of it did the authentication
dance subtly wrong, that's why I worry about new code doing this.

I also don't particularily like Ted's language for doas much; I hear
the justifications, but it feels *too basic*. It lacks strong
keywords to seperate commands from options like our other DSL's and
thus may prove difficult to extend in the future.

[new] devel/p5-Parse-Yapp (read: samba4 and Parse::Yapp)

2015-06-20 Thread Jérémie Courrèges-Anglas

Hi,

samba4 bundles its own version of Parse::Yapp::Driver and ships it if
absent from the system. This has lead to build failures until I fixed
it to always install said module. But this may not be the best
solution.

I see three alternatives:
1. stay as is, ship Parse::Yapp::Driver with samba4
2. rm the module in post-install (it doesn't seem to be required at
   runtime)
3. use the attached port as bdep

Opinions? ok to import?

Ok,
is that possible to customize timeout time to a bigger value for people that
have low internet speed?

ok to remove audio/mp3encode, benchmarks/bonnie, graphics/smpeg-xmms,
net/aguri and x11/xlogout.

Remove: net/aguri

2015-06-20 Thread Christian Weisgerber
I suggest that we remove the net/aguri port.

This is an aggregation-based network traffic profiler from the
author of ALTQ, dating to 2003. Does anybody use this?
No dependent ports, no maintainer, master site will be going away
eventually.

Remove: benchmarks/bonnie

2015-06-20 Thread Christian Weisgerber
I suggest we remove the benchmarks/bonnie port.

The version we have in the tree dates from 1991(!), I'm pretty sure
Niklas isn't maintaining the port, the master sites are gone, and
there's a successor with benchmarks/bonnie++.

ok?

Remove: graphics/smpeg-xmms

2015-06-20 Thread Christian Weisgerber
I suggest we remove the graphics/smpeg-xmms port. DESCR says:

The smpeg xmms plugin allows playing mpeg videos in xmms and VCD
movies, thanks to the smpeg library.

Does anybody still use this? (VCD, really?) The distfile is from
2001, there is no home page, the port maintainer is no longer active,
and the single master site will be going away.

Absolutely, agreed.

stunnel supports tree thread models: ucontext, pthread and fork...
Since that It is the default process model in stunnel I switched to

Remove: audio/mp3encode

2015-06-20 Thread Christian Weisgerber
I suggest we delete the audio/mp3encode port.

It's an MP3 reference encoder, unchanged since 1997, not used by
any other port, no maintainer, and the only master site listed in
the port will go away.

ok?

Remove: x11/xlogout

2015-06-20 Thread Christian Weisgerber
I think we can remove the x11/xlogout port.

The xlogout program displays a small button that simply waits until
being pressed before exiting. This can be useful when run as the
initial client from xdm or xinit.

Yeah, it's stupid. I think I was the last person in the world who
still used this and I stopped... many years ago. I kept it around
as an example port, but even that use has passed. The last surviving
master site has long disappeared.

I am not sure why no one feels like importing my work. I have put quite a
lot of effort into the port, involving both ports@ and upstream to make
the best out of the situation. I am also prepared to handle any issues
reported by users.

Anyway, I'll stop asking after this.
