Re: Dashboard Saviors
They had three records all on Medium Cool. "Kitty", "Spinnin' On Down", and "love, sorrow, hate, madness", and they were all very good. Todd McBride (lead guy) was/is an excellent songwriter, very adept at pullin' off a rocker then turning around and hittin' you with something subtle and moving. As for what they are doing now, Todd put out a solo album this past year that is also very good, I believe it's called "Sketchy" (can't seem to find it at the moment). The drummer, John Crist, I believe, is now playing with someone in Minneapolis. I'm not exactly sure what's up with the rest of them. Someone in the Athens contingent could probably tell you more. I do remember however that the guitar player had one of the coolest guitars I'd ever seen. It was intricately carved in the shape of a dog's head if I remember correctly. That alone makes them worth checking out in my book. I would say that anything you could find from them would definitely be worth checking out. Don't be no April fool! Git yer ass out'a tha house and be a witness! You won't be disappointed! Re: Upcoming Dallas shows
I would definitely say Buckner after having just witnessed him with band at SXSW and having my ass thoroughly kicked again. Besides, Slobberbone in Denton at Dan's is a sweaty, smelly affair replete with obnoxiously loud and slovenly oafish drunks unrelenting in their bombastic demands for Slobberbone songs that will never be played by the band again due to the fact that the band from now on will only play Emo music. And the new name for the band is now "Tickle Me Emo". Also, Slobberbone will be playing with the Damnations in Dallas at the Tea Room in a couple a' weeks anyways. And anyways the singer is an asshole. Richard Buckner w/ Sebadoh b.) Slobberbone (in Denton) Which do you all think would be the better one to go to...? I actually got someone to work for me that night. God's been taking care of me when it comes to shows recently... -A/D

Re: Chicago Content: Honky Tonk Living Room
These guys are absolutely great live. My band has played with them in various spots at various times all over the country, most recently this past weekend in Little Rock and although my opinion of them might be clouded by how good of friends they've become, I honestly recomend them. And yes, their version of Moonshiner is a super good'un. -B -Original Message- From: stuart [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: passenger side [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wednesday, January 20, 1999 8:55 PM Subject: Re: Chicago Content: Honky Tonk Living Room Kelly Kessler wrote: This Thursday, Jan. 21, starting at 9 P.M. we've got our most ambitious Honky Tonk Living Room to date: . Say Zuzu (o.k., they're from New Hampshire, but they're good!), I heard a cut of this band (I think, i wasn't sure of the name) on my local Americana station. It was some UT or Son Volt Song. Moonshiner maybe? Geez I'm gettin old. Cant remember a thing. Anyway what I heard, I liked alot. Very SonVoltish. Is this the same band? Stuart np Essential Ray Price its got a good beat and you can dance to it
