I guess what we want here, to write generic sql queries, is a function that will tell us if the linear geometry functions can process a certain geometry. ST_IsLinearSafe(geom)? I meant it is a feature request to have ST_Simplify support curve types. PostGIS depends on GDAL, so you may need to recompile all the stuff by hand or build custom RPMS that depend on GDAL 1.11. I would suggest you to update to CentOS 7 -- it includes GDAL 1.11 and the PostGIS RPM in http://yum.PostgreSQL.org is built against GDAL 1.11. [postgis-users] Update gdal - implact on existing PG installation
Hi! I have installed postgres 9.3 and postgis 2 on centos 6.5, with gdal 1.9 I need to install another software that requires gdal 1.11. My knowledge on linux and postgres is not good enough to evaluate the impacts of updating to gdal 1.11 Will I need to do something with my postgres/postgis installation?
