Kevin,
That sounds like a syntax error in the plugin itself. You probably need to
contact the maintainer. I can't actually get it to work in QGIS 1.7.3 on OSX
10.6.8
cheers
Ben

with a PostGIS database connected with QGIS. A few plugins are giving me
errors when I try to connect to my database. I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and
QGIS 1.8.

When I try to connect to my PostGIS database using the PostGIS Manager
plugin, I receive the following error:“Couldn’t connect to database: missing
“=” after “‘” in connection info string”.
Any thoughts? I will add that I have successfully added PostGIS layers to my
project, but now want to start using pgRouting, so need to connect to the
database. I receive the exact same error when attempting to use the pgRouting
Layer plugin.

Thanks! Kevin

Then you can try the various v.clean option. There is one to remove dangles,
for instance.
Happy hunt!

A: postgis-users@postgis.refractions.net

regarding GRASS and PostGIS on Natural Earth vectors

unfortunately, it seems that a v.in.ogr / v.out.ogr round trip
does *not* clean the vectors completely, as tested by st_isValid()

--
GRASS trunk (7)
PostGIS 1.5.3
current Natural Earth shp files,

tested table: 10m_urban_areas
12,022 polys

st_isValid() shows 31 errors
  self-intersection and ring self-intersection

PostGIS ST_Buffer(0) creates output
that is clean of these errors, according to PostGIS

GRASS 7 v.in.ogr / v.out.ogr creates output
that still has 14 polys with ring self-intersection
according to PostGIS

ps -
this is true with or without benefit of the mighty for loop

best regards
   -Brian
