PB backlights
You can get backlights for powerbooks from DigiKey. In turn, JKL supplies DigiKey, so you might just want to contact them: http://jkllamps.com/ In general, they specify these things by length and diameter. So, pull out your old CCFL, and have a ruler handy while you talk to their tech support folks. They'll hook you up with the right tube. OS 9 and the 5300 don't work well together. You can make it work if you max out the RAM and don't mind very sluggish performance, but yes, you are definitely better off going no higher than 8.6 on a 5300. Max it out to 64 and be patient, because both of those programs are going to be slower than molasses on a cold day in January if you run them on a 5300. Yeah, you'd be better off with Illustrator 6. I ran that on my 7100/80 with no problems. I'm not sure which version of Photoshop would be best though. Absolutely don't even try to use Illustrator 9 with a 5300 though, it will be too slow.
