Global Villiage was bought out and support for these is not offered at all.

Simms or Dimms? 56MB? thought it came in only 48 and 64 sticks. 5v ? FP ?
What vendors? Any cautions?

I now have 2 powerport platinum pro pc cards 28.8 modem/ 10base t Ethernet.
With No Software
1. where can I Down/Load the Software?
2. Are these cards as bad as their rep?
3. Need software for Ethernet also for this card that will be its primary
role.
WTB the original Software for these cards.


On the 5300c's printer port "port juggler" is supposed to handle a printer
and modem threw the printer port.  Can anyone provide a report on its
effectiveness?

5.  Suggestions on where to get good deals on 5 to 8 gig IDE? hard drives
for these 2 5300c's?

I have tried to down load the manuals from the apple sight no luck,  really
I want the tech upgrade faq's for do it your selfers on the 5300c's any
suggestion?

Newbie needs 5300c advice.
Hi I just purchased two 5300c's.  Is there a site that shows how to open a
case and upgrade these?

It looks like these have IDE HDs, not SCSI.  I can put any OS in, it seems
8.1 would be best.  Are the IDE HDs limited to a 2gig boot limit or under
8.1 as SCSI HDs are in the 7100/8100 cpus?

With OS 8.6 does IDE 20 gig HDs work as a single bootable volulme?  How
about larger volumes?

Can I upgrade the video ram on the MB?

On some cpus when you overlaod the cpu max ram limit the ram works but is
not seen by the OS/CPU and you still get a boost.  This true for the 5300c?

I never messed with any OS under 8.1 very much and though I have the various
X and Jag OS's since all of my macs are pre G3/upgraded to G3.  I have
usually ended up with 8.1 or 8.6, 8.1 most because of the support for pre
powerpc apps in 8.1's language that even 8.6 does not have.

I live in Jacksonville Fl.  I would really like to meet a local somewhere to
be shown hands on the 5300c.

looking for cpu speed/HD scsi or ide (cost factor?) floppy/cd scsi/usd
expandable? for a complete newbie to anything other than a DT/T mac.
