Re: Looking for FWB Cd-Rom toolkit...

2003-11-14 Thread allenpau
What version are you looking for? I have an older version on a floppy disc.
I'm talking from 1994. But I have run it on my PB 1400c 133 with no problem.
It is available on some ftp archives. Including this version, so I guess
it's probably public domain and I may be able to send an image of it. Don't
want to break any rules here though.

I heard that FWB CD-Rom Toolkit *could* solve me problems... anyone have a
lead on how to get it? Anyone know some other solution to my problems?

Thanks...

Duo Memory

2003-11-07 Thread allenpau
Hi All,

I am trying to get a handle on a Duo Ram card I was given, as to the size.
It's Kingston (their website was no help) with a part number of KTA-D280/28A
with a riser/daughter card with the part number KTA-D280/36B. I tried
putting this in my 280c but the unit would only give the start up chime,
then static and then nothing. What is the size of this memory card and is it
bad?

What about one of those old external modems powered by the ADB port?

I managed to wrangle one up awhile back off Ebay; I think it's 33.6, which

not bad... but I have never used it.

Does anyone have any comments regarding using the ADB-powered modems with
their Powerbooks?

Craig:

I used two of those ADB powered modems with the 540c about 2 or 3 years ago.
I found they are the best choice for the PB 5xx series, and work quite well.
I highly recommended them. As I remember, they were Supra Express or
something like that.
Best regards.

Hello --

I'm new to the list, but have found it really enjoyable and useful
thus far.

My question is this. I have a PB 1400cs/117 that I'm getting ready
to sell. I used it for several years, but recently got my hands on a
1400c with a bigger hard drive, and have switched my upgrades (RAM
and a Sonnet processor) from the cs to the c.

I'm going to re-initialize the hard drive and re-install the system
so whoever buys it will have a fresh start. It currently has 8.6 on
it, but since it takes up 9MB of the 16MB on the stripped-down cs, I
was wondering if the list members could recommend which OS would
work best, at least to start out, on this now-less-powerful machine.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Andy Morris
